We have a loooooong road ahead of us with this show, but still, this episode is one I never forgot, cause it was the first one that made me think "Yes, I like this, this isn't just about the creepy scary things hiding in the night, it's about family, I can get on board with that." I was 11. Don't judge. LOL

I'm hilariously waiting for your in memoriams for these seasons, cause your going to name ever death from every case aren't you? 🤣

@2:57 The date Jessica died is exactly 22 years after their mom died, November 2nd 1983 & November 2nd 2005. @6:14 the actor who plays Ben grows up to play Han Solo (2018). Supernatural is one of his earliest acting credits. @8:21 John’s journal! They use this same prop throughout the series. Since it’s a 3-ring binder, the props department could easily add whatever pages they needed to film for that particular episode, and would add inconspicuous bookmarks so the boys could quickly open it to the correct page. @11:44 …. I try not to question the laws of time in the SPN-verse, especially night to morning transitions 😅 @17:43 Sam says “I’m driving.” This is especially prominent in the early seasons, but they develop a trend of Sam driving the impala whenever he has had a moment of personal growth, or takes control of his own narrative. The songs from the original airing of this episode are: Foreigner - Hot Blooded (plays in the car when Sam wakes from his nightmare) Lynyrd Skynyrd - Down South Jukin' (plays at the bar where the guys discuss the case and watch the video on the laptop) Rush - Fly by Night (plays at the end when Sam's driving the Impala and they leave the woods)

Idk how far ahead you are, but the original music in this first season was replaced on Netflix due to stupid copyright stuff. Pretty sure the Amazon version has them right. I mention this because some of the original music used is a reference with what’s going on in the show and they replace it with stupid generic music. The ones that I noticed are in ep 5, 6, 12 and 22. Anyway - this show starts out very much like a monster of the week type thing but definitely starts to have more overarching themes next season. Can’t wait for more!

Geeze dude! That was quick! You going for an episode per day? If that's the case then a rest between seasons 5 and 6 is probably a good idea, just don't quit there! There's some beautiful stuff still to be found when you stay focused on the relationships in the show.

I have a suggestion for JerBear: Supernatural is actually more about the main characters than about the individual story. So maybe, when editing, focus more on the brothers (their interactions and stuff) instead, rather than focusing on the case itself. At least from what I understand, most people are here for the brothers (and later important characters of course). Also, someone else mentioned that the Netflix version doesn't have the right music, and it's better to watch the Prime Video version.

I think it is awesome I don't have to wait a week between eps here. I totally get that, but I get so excited to catch someone at the beginning of their watch, but the waiting... lol. But binging a reactor means no interaction, so pros and cons. Glad you are enjoying the show. I love season 1's approach to letting us get to know the brothers. It was a great foundation to build on. This episode we get to start to see that Dean is more than just a jokester, but he actually cares about the people he is saving. Sam is understandably trapped in his grief abd rage right now. You noticed the difference between the 1st episode characterizations and this episode. Their approaches have almost just flipped places. It's fascinating. Enjoy Dead in the Water!

I got to just say - I'm totally here for the "charlotte from the 100" in last episode, the "Hailey it's me Jackson", the "Brothers Bond", your continued use of teen wolf end credit sound, and every hilarious reference during your reactions!

Always fun to see how corny the CGI used to be... Jared and Jensen acted their asses off to make it as believable as possible.

Ep 2 was a good episode but I enjoyed the pilot a bit more. I do have a soft spot for season 1 but I do think it takes a bit to really get going... I didn't love that we were in the same setting for the entire episode but that's also kind of the normal thing for this series. I do find the "monster of the week" thing fun though. I am with Sam, I want them to go and try to find their father lol. We need JDM!

can't tell which source you're using to watch but an fyi is that the original music was too expensive to license (for the 1st season) on netflix. Almost all of the music used in the show is classic rock.
