I really want to have a tablet to use for work. I currently use notebooks that are meant for bullet journaling. I create an index for myself in the front . And even sometimes use it! 😂 Would love to transition to digital to be able to have my notes in one place and well indexed. These reviews are a great help! Thanks Danielle😊
Appreciate the review. Have the Scribe. It’s THE best ereader. For note taking - not so much. Prefer the remarkable 2 over Supernore. Still, SN > Scribe for writing.
Here is my thought on having both . . . the SuperNote and Remarkable are fantastic for note taking, organizing notes, organizing your thoughts, keeping a calendar . . . there are just levels and dimensions to note taking that both of those devices give you that a Scribe does not. And personally, I think that both of them suck for reading books on. They are functional, but not nice. I LOVE reading books on the Scribe. If you NEED something to help you get and stay organized with your note taking, project planning, etc, I think that the SupeNote or reMarkable could help with that. They are expensive, though, so there is that consideration. I honestly use my SuperNote every single day. I have changed the nib of the EMR stylus on my Scribe, so I like writing on it better now than I used to, but it still doesn't offer the organizational support that the SuperNote does. Those are my thoughts. :-)
Found you a few weeks ago and fell in love with your video I want to get back into writing not so much for selling a book just for myself which do you recommend for a 72 year old woman
Hi!! Welcome and thank you! For writing, I LOVE the SuperNote. I really enjoy the feel of writing on the tablet, and the way that things are organized on it just makes sense to me. The reMarkable is also a great option. I like the feel of the SuperNote more than the reMarkable, but that's just a point of personal preference. The reMarkable is a little more intuitive, but the SuperNote make sense once you mess around with it a little bit. I hope this is helpful. Let us know what you decide to use!!
Great vid! Question on this. I am really considering this device, recenlty got into the eink space and felt like I havent found the one for me. I got the Scribe, did not like the note features. Tried both the Boox NA3C and the TUCP didnt seem to enjoy them. So far the one Ive enjoyed the most has been the rM2 but feels like its missing something. Would you recommend this over a rM2?
Hi friend! First of all, thank you for the generous gift. I really appreciate it. I do recommend the SuperNote. I LOVE it. I use mine every day . . . but I say that with a caveat. What I love about it over the rM2 is the actual tactile sensation of writing on the device. I like the feel of a hard nib on a firm surface and the finer the better. For comparison, I write with .07 Uniball or fine or extra fine fountain pens when I'm writing on paper. If I write with a pencil, I prefer hard lead and a very sharp point. To me, the rM2 felt like a pencil writing on a soft pad of paper. I enjoyed it when I was using it, but I fell in LOVE with the SuperNote as soon as I got it because it feels like writing with a Uniball pen. (I had the rM2 first). I think that the rM2 is more intuitive to figure out with more of the controls and commands on the screen, but once you use the SuperNote for a bit, I think that you will find the controls and commands that you need. I hope that this answers your question. If not, feel free to ask more and I will try to answer the best that I can. 😎
Here's my Amazon Associate link to the nibs. As an Amazon Associate, I earn from qualifying purchases. www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0BRXYT354/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1www.amazon.com/dp/B09BFJYQT8?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details&_encoding=UTF8&tag=fitdaniellere-20&linkCode=ur2&linkId=c729163cfeb4863103558e54ff84da66&camp=1789&creative=9325 This probably goes without saying, but make sure that they're safe for your tablet. I haven't had any issues with them, but ya never know. Let me know if you try them and what you think!
I watched both your videos on the Scribe and the Supernote and found them very helpful. I am just getting into the E-Tablet space more and away from my iPads because of eye strain. I had purchased the Scribe because of a sale and am considering returning it and purchasing the Supernote. My use case is note taking and organization. I love how the Kindle writes but the UI is cumbersome and I don't think my notes would be easily accessible over time. I have a few more weeks to decide if I should return the device and I keep hoping that Amazon does another update that will resolve some of the UI issues. I use my devices for both work and personal and take lots of notes as well as journaling and studying. I don't use the tablets much for reading. I am picky about the writing experience and believe the Supernote with the "gel pen" like feel might be best for me. Do you have any thoughts on Amazon upgrades or use of the Supernote long term? I need to be able to search for notes and retrieve information quickly. Thanks for your work and advice!
Hi friend! I'm glad that my videos have been helpful for you. I will tell you honestly that the more that I use my SuperNote, the more ways I find to use it. I absolutely LOVE it!! I think that if you start using it you'll find that the organization features make it easy to sort, search, and organize your notes. It's really great for that -- it's just what it was made for. I STILL don't like it for reading (because I'm almost exclusively a Kindle user, and I don't like the Kindle app on the SuperNote), but I LOVE it for note taking, scheduling, list making, planning and organizing . . . pretty much everything I'd use paper for.
Hi!! So . . . 1 -- yes, you can integrate your Google calendar with Supernote. I don't use Google Calendar, so I haven't done it, but you can. 2 -- You can do all of the things on your Kindle books that you can do in the Kindle app. You canNOT write on them like you can a PDF . . . which makes me sad. I also can't get my highlights from other Kindles to show up in books when I open them on my Supernote, but that might just be something that I'm doing wrong. 3 -- I have not played with the Boox Note air3 C yet. Stay tuned for that. 😎
I just searched for "free SuperNote ax5 Planner". I found this link: github.com/kudrykv/latex-yearly-planner/discussions/9 and found the format that I liked. It was just sort of a shot in the dark, and it worked out really well. 😎
Yes!! No light at all, and the screen seems a bit dim to me, actually, so it is a bit unforgiving in dim light. That might just be my eyes, but I have to make sure to have good light to use it.
Yes! Unfortunately, the ONLY app that you can download is the Kindle app, but hopefully they will expand the "app store" at some point. When you use the Kindle app on the SuperNote, it acts just like a Kindle app on any other device, so you can't annotate directly on the page. Another option is to download Epub or PDF books and read/annotate those. If you do that, you have more options for highlighting and annotating directly onto the text.
It's a tablet specifically for writing . . . and a few specific other tasks. You can't do anything else on it. It's made by a company called Ratta. I mostly do planning on mine -- plan out my vlogs, my scene shooting schedule (jot down ideas), and keep my calendar. These are all things that I used to do on paper with TONS of post it notes before.
Yes! It's an e-ink tablet, but it's not a tablet like an iPad or Google tablet or something. It's a device you can write and read on, but you can't run other apps on it. I'm working on a review for another device that's more of a hybrid e-ink tablet and "real" tablet.
I'm so sorry -- I thought that I answered this a while ago. I think I was actually avoiding answering it because unfortunately, I think that my answer is going to be rather unsatisfying. The "best tablet" depends on what you're looking for. If you're looking for a tablet that limits distractions and works well for writing and reading some types of documents, I think that an e-ink writing tablet like the SuperNote or reMarkable would be great. If you're looking for more of an all-in-one tablet that doesn't give you limited distractions, there are LOTS of options like iPads that will do the things that the e-ink writing tablets do, they just aren't as nice for reading and writing on. Does that make sense? To me, what makes the reMarkable, the SuperNote, and other tablets like them valuable is that they are so nice to write on and they don't DING with email, text, Facebook, etc notifications while I'm writing on them. When I'm working on my iPad or phone, even if those apps aren't dinging, I know that I can check them during a "lull" in my writing or planning or something. I feel like when I'm using my SuperNote, I will sit during that "lull" and actually think instead of doing something else because I don't have Facebook or something to check.
