This week is a bit different as we will be unboxing my new Kindle and talking about my first impressions and an honest pros and cons list! U can adjust the margin so the page turner don't cover the words

I think if you call Amazon and ask them, they will sometimes remove the ads for free. As far as I know, Libby only works on Kindle in the US. I don’t understand the need for a page turner. I grew up reading books in bed, and would feel weird not holding the kindle whilst reading. The kindle is lighter than most books anyway.

What helps motivate me is when it tells you how many minutes are left in the chapter! My fav feature it has! 🤩

Yes I have noticed that! Unfortunately for me when I read at night I have a tendency to nod off so it usually says over an hour per chapter from how often I’ve fallen asleep reading 😂

If you get the ads removed you can put the book cover you're reading as your wallpaper. I love seeing my book covers, this makes it look like a real book.

How on earth do you carry 19 books? As for the lag, it's the e-ink screen. It's perfectly normal. You can sideload ebooks to your kindle via a laptop or PC using your USB C cable and a program called Calibre.

Good to know! And lol I had a large purse that I carried about 12 or so paperbacks in and the others were in my backpack! I basically only had the heaviest stuff on my person so I wouldn’t have to pay more for my checked luggage

@@KristenIsBookedAndBusy that's crazy! Much prefer my kindle. Although I need a 2nd one, because mine is full and I don't have a laptop or PC to back up my kindle.

The flash is because it’s rearranging literal ink pigments on the screen. This will never be as quick as lighting up pixels in an LCD/OLED screen.

True. And it also takes time for an app to load on a phone or other device, they just distract your attention with some animation.

Change your margins. That will help with the clamp being in the way.

I just got mine about a month ago and I'm in love. The battery life is great and I have a case so I don't see the ads nor do they bother me haha I am a mom and we don't have a lot of space for my physical books and I can read in bed without disturbing my husband haha

I’ve got my eye on a few cute cases that cover the screen like that too! And yes I was just telling my friend about how nice it is to be able to read at night without disturbing others!

@@KristenIsBookedAndBusy I am definitely going to check out the remote even though you had issues with it. I have my font size a little bigger so maybe I'll be able to work around it? Lol

I do still like the page turner even with my complaints lol and I use it all the time so I definitely think it was a good purchase and is very useful!

You need a sleep/wake cover. They protect your kindle and make the ads all but invisible.

There's an option to set up a quicker reaction from the screen, but obvs it consumes more battery

In my experience, Kindle works with pdf and epub. Yeah, sometimes the format gets weird and some files are better quality than others, but it's rarely the case that it's unreadable. You can send the file to your kindle email and even add "Convert" to the subject so it automatically changes to kindle forma (and you can make notes, look for words in the dictionary, etc). Not sure how your libraries work, because I'm not from the US, but so far that's how I've avoided buying from Amazon

Yes! I know we can get them on kindles with a library card I just haven’t tried it myself yet. I know it’s possible so hopefully I can figure it out once I get my library card renewed!
