Welcome back to our channel! Today we are going to tackle an issue that many Canon printer owners have faced: the infamous fake paper jam. If you've already checked for debris and made sure there is no paper stuck in your printer, but the problem persists, then this video is for you. We'll show you how to fix the issue by adjusting the waste ink pad assembly underneath your printer. The Canon's "paper jam" problems can be caused by multiple factors, such as paper feed roller, pickup assembly, timing belt, remaining piece, and even cassette tray. This video troubleshot the misplaced waste ink assembly. Sometimes, a printer will have a problem with no paper inside. We fixed Canon PIXMA printers with paper jam or "no paper in the cassette" problem. We showed how to look for and fix paper jams and feed problems by demonstrating three printers of TS8220 and TR8520 Canon paper jam.

Thank you so much. My situation differed somewhat but in viewing your troubleshooting videos I was able to improvise and get my printer working again. The root cause was that ink build up had jammed the waste ink mechanism so I pulled apart cleaned it and reassembled. I had a 6004 code and nothing would work. I called Canon for service as directed who said they don't fix these printers and I was out of luck. I would need to determine what to do next myself. I asked should I buy another Canon printer then and they responded that was my decision. I then asked should I buy and Epson instead and they responded that I would need to decide for myself - So I did. Should my repair not hold up my next printer will be an Epson. Great work by the sales prevention department at Canon!

In case it helps anyone, I had the same issue with a G4511 and in the end what worked was to sponge down the capping station (printhead cleaning/resting area) and then place a piece of folded kitchen paper towel along the printhead path before gently running the printhead carriage over the top of it. This removed some dried off ink from the base of the carriage unit and likely cleaned the sensor that was giving the inaccurate paper jam error. Once I removed the kitchen paper towel the 5100 error had disappeared and we were back in business. Thanks Kevin for the tips though, you led me in the right direction so much appreciated.

I have a Canon MX922 and I'm getting the Support Code 5100 and there is no paper stuck and the ribbon doesn't look dirty and the waste ink assembly looks straight. I'm wondering what could cause the code.

Hi Kevin, like your videos much, they are very helpful. I’ve got a G3000 and error 5100 when print, ink cartridge pad looks good, reset counter and changed waste ink pad, cannot hear the big ‘tar’ sound as usual before print, and can hear very little strange motor noise when print, then error led blink 2 cycles. tried to locate paper jam pieces but cannot find, tried tilt printer up backward, left or right but nothing canoes out. No idea how to fix it, any suggestions? Thanks.

Would a misaligned waste assembly cause a 6004 error code? I think mine is misaligned and I guess I'll attempt to reattach it but wondering if something else is causing the 6004.

I try I tried all these methods and I did not find a problem of this kind, but I think that when I replaced the ink I left the old one for economy. Could this be the problem?
