This is the only way I can listen to this man anymore. It breaks my heart, especially when ycgma was my comfort album. I can't support an abuser, but I cannot live without ycgma. Stand with Shelby y'all. Even if it hurts.

While I wish I could still listen to all his stuff and "seperate the art from the artist", it's very hard to do so when his true personality is shown in most of these songs. It's hard to listen to some of these lyrics knowing he isn't lying or overexaggerating.

i actually only discovered who wilbur soot was through the release of msr, msr is such a good album, around the pomegranate is my favourite, and now ive discovered your city gave me asthma too. man this guy is awesome but someone needs to check up on him 😭

This is my first time listening since everything was revealed. What has helped me a little is the fact that we were told that YCGMA was basically our own album, and that our own experiences and interpretations were correct. It helps to view things my own way and have something that I relate to. That being said, fuck William Gold, don’t give him any money or support, and take care of yourself

"You cannot treat people this way without consequence" you also can't throw out serious accusations without proof. I can't just run to the internet and claim someone murdered someone, and expect them to go to jail forever without an investigation. These are allegations, at best, and until they can be proven, then they will stay as allegations. Edit to add: his tone deaf-not apology aside, he's been pretty quiet about this. Meanwhile she keeps posting for more clout every day. This further proves my point she is doing this to literally ruin him, instead of doing it to "raise awarenwss". Honestly, she should be ashamed of herself for representing victims of abuse. She's just some salty ex gf, who's ex bf happens to be famous, and she wants to capitalize on it. I hope he sues for defamation, cause right now, he has a case against her. i think the shelby situation should not have been public. she made it out of spite. wilbur abused but he isnt an abuser. people can change. this is being blown out of the water and being dramaticised. if it hurts you you should seperate the music from the artist. im sorry about what happened to shelby and i can only imagine her pain but this is something that shouldnt been made public. its a problem between the two of them. abuse is when the other person does something with the intention of hurting. wilbur just has a nervous tick. a person who has a tick of hitting people isnt an abuser.
