*me during the chronograph portion* "Oh hes just gonna shoot it. Oh wait. Ok now hes gonna shoot it. Waaaaaiiiiit. Huh guess he isn't gon- THERE IT IS"
It's amazing how on the slo mo video your hands go back to the shooting position after recovering from recoil and they are perfectly still. You can almost think there's a freeze frame at that moment Chapeau bas Scott, you are a great shooter. Wish i could get my hands that still.
Considering the jamming issues that deagals usually have in general and those being compounded when suppressed that's actually really impressive that they got it to work well and cycle consistently.
The myth that desert eagles are unreliable come from the .44 or .357 eagles. My .50 AE has literally never jammed, through over 2k+ rounds. I use only buffalo bore because that's all my LGS has in stock.
@@TatsByTaco I feel like I’m lucky with what I hear on the internet. My .50ae desert eagle has never had a malfunction. I got the 44 barrel and still haven’t had one with full house ammunition. My only issue is riding the slide lock and getting failure to lock back.
Have 357, 44, and 50. 0 malfunctions ever with 44 or 50. Had some early on with the 357 and wimpy factory 357 loadings. Then found that magtech 357 was stout and had no issues, then just started loading my own and haven't had a deagle malfunction in the past 15+ years of owning them
@@renaissanceman5847 Good hard cast bullets are not so soft to do that. And they usually have gas check installed. Comparing that to cheap and soft bullets in usual cowboy loads is pointless.
@@renaissanceman5847 Classic butt covering. They know something COULD go wrong so they put a warning/instruction that will protect them if they get sued or whatnot
If you watch his videos pre-accident he barely ever flinches. Now he really noticeably flinches really often. its amazing how the mind works. it logged the trauma whether he likes it or not. Did anyone else notice this?
I mean when something is lower velocity the higher the projectile mass the better, therefore it's probably one of if not the most powerful sub-sonic round out there
that slow-mo is wild. You can actually here the initial pop of the cartridge, then the expansion of the gases through the barrel and suppressor. That sounds so cool
Speaking of sneaking little theifers. The tactical reason for suppression is I can't hear ANYTHING when properly wearing Earplugs. So can't hear you sneaking up on me.
Seriously. If I hadn’t known that he shot that shield at those two spots (at 9:23), I would’ve thought they were just part of it. That shot placement was laser precise.
They are pretty good at figuring such things out. The seagulls in my hometown know the exact recess times of the schools and use that knowledge for the most effective breakfast tour. Im not living close to the sea btw. 😂
I love that the suppressor is just as loud as the gun itself: Thing is honkin' huge! And man, it seems just as hard hitting as the supersonic version in it's effective range. Really impressed with how usable it is!
0:12 "Chambered in .50 EA" I was expecting a pay to unlock firing this gun joke TBH. nevertheless Scotts skits always land. The comedy aspect of this channel just puts in it a league of its own man.
that intro is so stupid. i love it. i hope you never stop doing those. you must be a fun dad because it's pretty clear you like to poke fun at things like a kid would
I'm almost absolutely positive. That about 99% of gun tubers, even the ones that make guns or use guns all the time, and different configurations don't realize that there is a difference in Spring rate for suppressed and non suppressed. A desert Eagle has 4 recoil Springs on 2 rods. If you change the Spring rate, you can run lower powered ammo without a hiccup, just like in the GSG Firefly, they send you 2 Springs. One is for with a suppressor the other 1 is non suppressed. You can also use the suppressor Spring with lower powered.Cheap ammo and not get any hiccups. Rifles use a gas setting to account for subs and supers.
@@joelsefur666 I concur with this analysis I have been shooting the DE since 1989 from it's first Mark numbers being the Mark I and VII and to this day even the Mark XIX comes with 4 springs. I am lucky enough to own four of these beasties and I believe I can go out on a limb here and categorically tell you that suppressors were never factored into the design of this platform, and I have spoken to MRI themselves in the past way before they were owned by Kahr Arms. The DE likes HOT and Spicey food to cycle well, anything that is not up to scratch will leave you with Fail to feed, fail to cycle and stove pipes. I have put through thousands of rounds through DE's and I reload otherwise it would have sent me broke years ago...... It's an awesome piece of engineering......period.
@@Hotdogger808 I mostly agree, but would change the terms from hot or spicy ammo to high gas volume ammo. I’ve found I can get 300gr berrys bullets cycling down to 1150 by just using a slow powder. I have no doubt I could make a 400gr to 450gr subsonic work in the desert eagle with a compressed charge of 1680.
@@joelsefur666 Nice that you own a piece of history there, hang on to it if you can. I have seen some Mark I's around, but hey are very rare. I do have an Israeli manufactured DE with Fluted Barrel which are not that common in Brushed Chrome and it has had thousands of rounds put through it. I use it for metallic silhouette comps and can be very accurate out to 100 yards and beyond. I have hit Rams at 100 yards standing. In fact the energy it imparts on that steel plate at 100 yards is enormous. DE's will always attract a crowd at most ranges as they are not that common and the noise alone tends to attract peoples attention.
As you said Scott that was friggin awesome the sound from the woods was like a tire deflating but the best sound came from the 55 gallon water barrel nice work mate 👍🦘🇦🇺
I too have a suppressed .50ae deagle. Hornady’s .500 500gr bullet over some lil’gun/296 works marvelously and you don’t have to worry about potential leading. Tii armory also sells loaded .50ae ammo with their own cast bullets going up to 500gr. Just be careful that they don’t have gas checks with using a suppressor. They will also supply load data for their bullets if you ask.
