I think it's big and beautiful. She was a pain to build, but worth every dollar spent, and every hours of hard earned flight worthiness ;) I've also gained some traction that has helped project my RU-vid channel from the bowels of obscurity due in part to this plane! Wish THIS video would have been better, but RU-vid doesn't ask permission or pick a "good video" when they decide you've got a "winner" - LOL - this has gotta be one of my worst videos, but it's got 32,000,000+ views, so I guess I'll take it! Glad you stopped in! Hope you'll come back for more - we've got literally thousands of better videos, and hundreds of planes and other items covered in the years since.
I've dialed it in quite a little bit since this, which was the true maiden flight. I had the CG messed so, so I only had about 10-15% elevator!!!! Notice how low the roll was??? Then the landing - SUPER level - yep, it was crazy nose heavy - lipo was probably about 1.5" forward from where it should have been! Now she flies well, but I almost never actually take her up, since she's kinda like a trophy plane or something of the sort - this was the video that really helped us find some traction here on RU-vid. Thanks for the comment
Yes, check the date on this video - they were RARE when this was filmed. Also, this plane lands better now, since I don't fly nose heavy anymore ;) I had maybe 10% up elevator left since she was sooooooo nose heavy. That's why I landed so HOT, and BARELY made it in the air. FYI... I could hear your knees rattling like mine did lol. How far you have come in the last 7 years Brian, now with your own airfield and same fantastic camera crew!
I agree!!! But yet, this one still has the millions of views ;( Oh well, better millions of views on a poor video, than a great video with 7 - LOL ;) Thanks for noticing!!!
I love these but I don’t understand how you can control it! I’ve seen them in person a couple times and it just blows my mind away how these people can pilot these lil guys with extreme ease. This one guy had a lil jet type one and he was getting so close to the ground I thought it was over 😰 but man his skills where on point. I’d be so scared! One guy had a huge rc plane didn’t get to see it in the air as he just finished up and was loading it back in the truck, he spent upwards of $30,000 with all the additions and work he put it! I’d be terrified to wreck that thing 🤯
Yeah, that's pretty amazing watching some of those extremely skilled rc pilots. If you like seeing this, you should check out some of our much better, and way more recent content ;) here's some more recent and better footage of this plane... ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-gyQ6rGQlujM.html ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Pd4KWSG7JQE.html ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-PfcEe8qL37g.html ...hope you'll join us for some of our thousands of videos published since this one!
It’s progression. No baby pops out of their mothers womb walking and talking. I feel that way about 3d heli pilots. But I just got into the rc plane and heli hobby over the summer. Already I’m out of safe on planes and can fly without any beginner aids. However I’d recommend a sim. It will save money and emotional wreckage with actual wreckage. Lol. The programming of the transmitter is more complex than learning to fly it.
i dont know if i'm missing something here because honestly i didnt watch this all the way through, but the "a330-600" does not exist and has not even been proposed, the largest variant is the -300 which is significantly smaller than this. this is basically an a340-600 with 2 engines
I always thought the A30-600 will have triple tired main landing gear as the B777 it is awesome to see one build at least on scale and how impressive it flies. AWESOME video man!
Thanks! You should see some of the more recent footage! Check out the playlist for better flights... here's a really recent one - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Pd4KWSG7JQE.html
Thank you so much! I'm glad you're here with us! We love sharing this wonderful hobby with others, and hope you'll stick around ;) The F22 is a great little RTF. It's FAST, but reasonably easy to fly. This particular video has got to be one of my worst, and yet RU-vid has decided it's the one to go "viral" :) LOL I wish I could edit this video, so it weren't so long, but hard to argue with 30 million views!!!
Been getting sent back to some old videos from you, why not reminisce lol kind of cool to see how much you all have improved through the years but we’re always better than me lol😂❤️
Thanks John! It seems like such a long time ago, this video, but such a cool time! This was the videos that gave our tiny channel a trajectory for success! Not sure if you noticed the views, but this was THE video that took our little fun side "thing" and flipped it into a huge opportunity and responsibility. So glad we had this opportunity and took it ;) Glad you enjoyed the time travel!!!
@@BrianPhillipsRC I hadn’t looked at the views but that is awesome, so happy for you all and everyone you have helped! Keep up the great work you two!!

We had one way in, and one way out. Very nice site, and had some informal approval to fly there. We were very fortunate to have great relationships with the people who we would interact with. We flew here for (off the top of my head) The Fedex Man...a Drywall Crew...Cops (multiple times)...Firemen (who came IN the fire truck VERY COOL - I even crashed for them - LOL)...the Building Manager (and his wife)...many passers by...etc. This was an AWESOME site, and we were blessed to be so close, and have such a great working relationship with these people. Oh yeah, it was nice, since I go the maintenance man's phone number, so when I lost a plane on the roof, he helped me out. I was expecting the worst, but they were SOOOOOOO cool about it.

It is in our basement, still flyable, on a wall of planes ;) If you're curious, we recently did a video regarding a totally random viewer requests, one of which was to see "More Cats" - LOL- and also a plane storage and shop tour. It's about a month ago, but still gets the idea across. You can find it in our recent videos.
For sure! I have less of them now-a-days, but this plane is such a colossal beauty! Here's a couple newer flight, if you're interested... ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Pd4KWSG7JQE.html ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-PfcEe8qL37g.html

I would just like to take a moment to appreciate that there are 3.6k comments on this video and he has responded to every one of them. He genuinely cares about his fans and that earns a sub and a like from me. Also that is the coolest rc plane I have ever seen
Thanks Skipp! I'm glad you noticed. I do value my small but very supportive and wonderful audience. I'm glad you're part of it!!! If you like this plane, there's SOOOO much more too. I filmed this many moons ago, and have since filmed literally thousands of videos, and we KNOW you'll be hooked when you start seeing the planes (Check the playlists if you want to start emptying your wallet - LOL)

+IKO DIARY Check out some of the other flights in the playlist for this plane. I have some really good landings, this one was not horrific, but the plane was difficult to control since it was still nose heavy. I got that issue worked out and since then, Ive had a few really good landings. When it's tough to land every flight might be the last...lol
Thanks! This plane is pretty cool, but this particular flight is not especially great, since it was the maiden flight, I had lots of bugs to work out. If you'd like, I've included some more recent videos for you to check out at your convenience, and I have well over a thousand videos on my channel if you're interested in watching RC planes fly ;) ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Pd4KWSG7JQE.html ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-PfcEe8qL37g.html
Lotta safety issues here, but first, congratulations on your plane. Nice. Flying with less than a full battery charge at near dark o'clock in a parking lot with a lot of traffic and parked vehicles, battery compartment cover loose, taking off and apparently losing sight of aircraft behind & below the trees, apparently no safety person visible at parking lot entrance (runway) to caution an incoming driver, flying so close to nearby buildings... Dude, you did a decent job getting the plane back with only one scrape. Did the left main / retract survive the landing? Why did you not have a work table to set, assemble and preflight with both hands rather than trying to do it single-handed? I have to be happy for you for the recovery but there are a LOT of considerations here for the safety of the plane, you, and especially the public. Never rush to fly, fly safe, and fly happy. They are all connected.
Early days of flying. This was filmed after this business was closed for the day with blessing from the building manager, but the rest was history. Maiden flights are very scary if not 100% sure of the unknowns. Hind sight is 20/20... We still review planes now, thousands of flights and videos later, and still no deaths, unless you count planes - LOL. You might want to check out some of our newer footage, I suspect you'd enjoy it better.
I'm glad you enjoyed it! Tons more footage on this plane if you're interested, and lots better flights too... Me too!!! Tthe CG was so far off, and I didn't even realize it. That's why the flight was so cring-worthy; but leave it up the the "RU-vid gods" to make this, one of my worst flight videos, go viral - LOL I guess Ill take it ;) Here's some newer footage, if you're curious. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-gyQ6rGQlujM.html ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Pd4KWSG7JQE.html ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-PfcEe8qL37g.html
I'd love to do that, but kinda got my hands tied right now. We're building a new house and time is too limited for a large build at the moment. Part of the reason we're building a new house, is that we'd like to expand our RU-vid capabilities, and the house will help some with this. Larger shop, and more land will really help. I hope you'll keep an eye out, and you're sure to see exciting new projects coming in the next few months. Our house is getting close to being done, then I can refocus my efforts to new and improved footage :) Thanks for your questions!
No, it's a PNP (Plug and Ply) model I purchased a few years ago. It's made by a company called Supreme-Hobbies, but they have since gone out of business (I think) and I've replaced the links to the new site, if you' want to buy one, or one like it. XPR got the molds from Supreme-Hobbies.
Thanks! More good footage here... ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-gyQ6rGQlujM.html ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Pd4KWSG7JQE.html ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-PfcEe8qL37g.html
I used THREE larger neodymium magnets. I've only had it come apart once, in a very rough landing. The three hold so hard that I store it together all the time! It was a lot of work to keep it straight as the epoxy was setting up, AND I altered my battery position with all that weight, not to mention the extra length for the nose. If I had to do it again, I'd be inclined to make it shorter, and lighter, so I could fly slower, and more scale.
I showed the weight in my clear coat video. Here's the link - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-kgTNUSvEX5Y.htmlm39s (This is where I discuss the weight [gained]) Supreme-Hobbies Airbus A330-600 - Minwax Polycrylic - Clear Coat Protective Finish - (2 Parts) Part 1 - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-kgTNUSvEX5Y.html Part 2 - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-1gpDqjQDlow.html Minwax Polycrylic 11.5oz Spray Can Gloss - amzn.to/2JtBJ16 Minwax Polycrylic 1/2 Pint Gloss - amzn.to/2GHpmB1

Am i seeing this right…34 million views? Bro your killing it, love your videos and congrats again on 100k, good to see honest and genuine creators do good.
YEAH, I did to!!! FIX IT NOW! Don't maiden without fixing it. If you must maiden before you fix it, just remove the gear door and wimpy linkage. Then you can fly it fine. I had to beef up the gear door and the linkage, on the one side. The other side never gave me any problems. I'm glad you noticed this. I've heard it from virtually everyone who has this plane. At least you can fix it before it causes a ton of damage.
Thanks Brian. I fixed it but its still not reliable. Did you use another wire link to fix it? I went to our airport, did my checks and upon checking my EDF spool up one of the fans exploded! Its weird because it sounded like it was balanced - must have had some deficiency. Did not damage the nacelle but I ended up ordering a couple of XRP 11 blade fans and motors. This time I will balance them myself and not rely on factory balance....BTW - are you on RCG?
Sorry, just missed the first question... I used a thicker music wire than the factory gear door wire. After reinforcements to the door itself, and ensuring clearance for the truck, which was a heck of a task, it was very good and reliable
All in, this plane was about $1000, but if you're just talking about the model, it was about $400 with a battery. Unfortunately, the manufacturer isn't selling them anymore!
Just found your channel a cpl days ago looking up the Eflite Cirrus, and I love your videos... What RX are you using? And how much does a plane like that cost?
I'm glad you found the channel and really hope you enjoy it! I have tons of videos already (almost 800) and post several videos on a good day, but still several videos on a bad week too. Some things about my channel that you might appreciate... I totally loath click-bait, so nearly 100% of my thumbnails are pulled from actual screen shots from the videos, sometimes with text, sometimes without. Only exception would be for build series. Sometimes I'll use a common picture from one of the videos to show what I'm working towards...but still a shot from the last video usually. I try to keep the descriptions to a syntax: Manufacturer, Model, What the Video is about, [Part]... I include links to all videos in a series right in the description, so you don't have to search high and low for the next video. I have playlists for every vehicle on the channel, even if there's only 1 video. Some have upwards of 50. As I spend time on the aircraft or project, you can follow the progress, just by watching the series unfold. I DON'T leave my audience hanging! When I'm building a new plane, I show the progress, and keep up with it until the thing is flying good, and as I add features, as I often do, I keep you guys up to date so you can determine if you'd like to try and copy my mods. If I totally lose a plane, I try my best to show what happened, what I did wrong or what went wrong, and how I plan to avoid it in the future. The only time I don't always hold 100% true to this, is when I'm reviewing my friends planes, or my Grandpa's planes, as I may not have unencumbered access to the models. ...and if you havn't already figured out, I'm just a regular guy who loves doing this. I have a wife and 4 kids, and a REAL job. I don't get a bunch of stuff sent to me in hopes that I'll say the turd is really nice...although, I'd invite that sorta thing :)...but that means that I won't BS you. I won't shamelessly endorse a company who sucks, but I won't beat up a competitor of that company just because of a personal conflict of interest. You get the real deal with me. One thing that I'm working to get better on, is coverage of my mods is difficult. It's just hard to SEE what's going on, and I'm trying to be innovative in the way I cover these activities. Bear with me as I struggle to come up with better, and more robust solutions for sharing these things. I always get excited when I bump into a channel, and I think - WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN ALL MY LIFE!!! - and it happens to me about once a month or so. Sometimes I think RU-vid's recommendation engine really lacks the ability to help direct us to stuff we might want to see, and instead it directs us to stuff it's 100% SURE we'll want to see - because I ALREADY WATCHED IT LIKE 20 TIMES!!! I have range on the transmitter out to miles provided I have line of sight. The plane can only fly for about 4-5 minutes max, and I usually just fly for 3 minutes (in case I have a go-around or two on final), so that's really my limit. The climb rate would take me to the clouds in that time, but I try and obey the FAA rules and keep it below 400 ft (among other rules). Thanks for watching and for the question!
Please let me know if you get it worked out. I'm curious how well they work. Those little springs are the FIRST thing to want to come off from this amazing plane.
The plane isn't available any more, sorry! I had about $400 in the plane, and another $600 worth of accessories that I share with other RC planes, like the transmitter, charger, batteries, glues, and other supplies.
