Supro / Valco IRENE lap steel repair report 

This one was a fun job! It was super rusted up, not making sound, loose joints, lots of little things to repair. Took me the better part of a day to fix it all up, but WOW.
The only thing I replaced was the busted up tone cap and a broken potentiometer. I used a NOS paper-in-oil cap of the same value, because I still hear a difference in the cap composition - sure, maybe it's a placebo but IT'S NOT JUST A PHASE, MOM!
This was one of a handful of times I've played lap steel, but this one sounds particularly gorgeous. That pickup is fantastic.
