OMG. Switch to the complete Hope Brake set up! Hope make the super powerful, highly adjustable, beautiful components. I've purchased 4 sets over the years for bikes I've owned.
Hey Jack I love the SUR RON content! I have information to share. I race downhill mountain bikes, and I am very familiar with brake setup. The bigger Hope rotor along with the Shimano pads is a great setup. However, if you ever feel that you want to run the Hope calipers and levers, I would advise against it. I used to run Hope levers, calipers, rotors, and pads on my DH bike and was constantly bleeding brakes after each ride. I went with the Shimano Zee levers, calipers, rotors, and pads. They have been doing great for me. I love the way they bite and they are very low maitence wise. I look forward to more vids on the SUR RON!
*video starts with violent camera movement* My first thought: "yeah this is gonna be Rudnik" Rudnik: "Hello all the Jack fans here" Me: "begone foul beast"
Jack, you could do a video going over your dust bunnie collection and i would still watch it, you do a great job of being informative and entertaining at the same time.
on my mtb to align the brake caliper so it doesnt rub i loosen it so it moves somewhat freely and then hold the brake in and tighten down the caliper without letting go of the brake, bike has to be off the ground to do this
@7.04. looks like you have not installed the chain stay brace repair. The holes for the four bolts were drilled, but the plate didn't look like it was installed.
Those adjustments made a big noticeable difference. That was one thing I didn't like about these bikes, although it performed well, it to me was just a bit still noisy, whenever it was rev'd up. Its not like you could come down your street unnoticed, people could still hear the noise of the bike, but now I can definitely tell a 75% noise reduction, even at lower speeds. But I think it should come from the factory like that. I want one, but i don't feel like putting time into setting the bike up for quieter performance, for 3500, it should already come that way. When you think of something being " electric " you automatically think of like a golf cart, and it being quiet. But this was a good video, and I hope someone from the manufacturer sees this, and make these modifications.
they have a chain on them because they are more durable for jumps and the surron is a electric “dirt bike” so they would naturally care more about durability that sound
JACK YOU GOT THE SAME COLOR ROTOR AS ME! 😉 You won’t regret the power from that rotor:edit you should up grade the rear rotor as well but go with the same size In the rear
My only criticism or concern is those spacers look like they might cause some extra flex making the braking feel a bit funny. I'd rather a solid plate that sits against the fork to space the whole bracket out.
I am surprised jack was okay with using those wee little spacers, they will definitely cause some play in the brakes, in the mountain bike world when you add a bigger disc/rotor you would not use little spacers you would buy the proper sized mount that bolt directly to the fork then to the caliper
Great to see a belt drive secondary. I did that to my Triumph Bobber last Christmas. Made a HUGE difference for the better. I haven't seen one yet for the Sur-Ron. This is dope! Has it been durable?
Thanks for the post guys !! Going to get one soon !! How did the Hope 225 work with your spacer mod ? I will be doing off road alittle and some down hills so I know I want to get the biggest disk I can for the front.
If you want a 4 gears with a manual clutch that's full size electric dirt bike then EBeast is the one. We also have a 4 gears electric dirt with a manual clutch that's mid size similar to the ET Time Moto called the EFox! Seen on my Channel
The purpose of the light bee is to be small, compact, and easy to manage. If you want a big dirt bike, buy a big dirt bike. I wanted a small compact bike to commute with.
I thought you said I was gonna get one!!!!! lol... these things are the shit they should be me a free one I work 5 miles away I would daily this thing unless we have snow! so cool. PS.. please mine your inactive at the moment ha
I dont have any actual knowledge on the surron because I never worked on one but a good friend of mine runs a non-electric bicycle with a belt and pinion gearbox, and he needs to change out the belt pullys every 3k miles. (He rides his bike like a mad man, hes been doing 150 miles every week at a high pace)
Jack, at 4:07 you can see there is a bracket that bolts the caliper to the fork.. please get rid of those spacers and buy yourself the proper sized bracket for your new rotor I am a mountain bike fanatic and i know if i used little spacers like that on my mountain bike i would feel the flex/play in my brakes
where did you order your sur ron im trying to get one on alibaba but they want to communicate on whats app . i dont want to get scammed please help thanks steven visca
I'm curious why you went for the hope floating rotors over the Ice Tech ones as some past experience with DH bikes them hope floating rotors start to rattle after some heavy braking
Link to rotor? Also, Just saw a vid yesterday that all Chinese ebikes no longer get the 25% import tax.. is this gonna drop a chunk on these bikes now?
@@connoisseuroftigolbitts Wait wait wait.. He's got a helmet BUT the real question is .. HOW DID YOU MISS HIM SPORTING IT WHILE RIDING!?! LOL.. I only remember cause his girl was WEARING THE SEXIEST OUTFIT.. YOW'ZERZ!!
Jack will use it but rudnik I give a month and that thing will be in the background of his shop sitting collecting dust wondering what's its purpose lol
If you want to show off your craft, my name is Damian...? boy I would really love a SUR-RON e-bike to ride around the city and show off, the real fast car with a real fast rider... You see, I know I'm on time
