This is the following up video where Adam from Sur-Ron Australia/NZ www.aebikes.co... and I are looking into some battery upgrade options for the Sur-Ron and also the LMX 161 Electric Lightweight dirt bikes.
We can definitely increase the range by +/-20-25% but we are actually hungry for more POWEEEEEERR.
Changing the cell holders so we can fit more cells inside the same space and there is a possibility of using as many small Lipo packs inside the original case.
Lipo batteries would be a must for extreme high power motor controllers.
The LMX 161 is temporary fitted with Lipo as we finish building the two 8s 10p bricks you see in this photo, they’ll go in series 16s configuration or 60v (67.2v max). LiPo = higher discharge, lighter but also more unstable and dangerous.
18650 = can be fun, you just need to add more cells, a bit more labour involved building the pack.
All packs using Sony VTC6 cells (high discharge and high capacity)
The long pack is for a GasGas kids dirt bike that has been upgraded with LMX motor and controller for more POWEEERRR so Adam’s kid can keep up with him on the track haha
