Be warned if you buy upgrades along with your bike like the moto tires or belt drive and have Luna install them they will NOT send you your stock wheels or parts. Add them separately to your cart and install them yourself if you want both.

Nice vid. Got mine July 22 or so 220 miles on it. Unbelievable value. My fox suspension comes next week. Got bash plate and 3 inch high bars. Foot pegs. So happy.. I try to ride each day. 😊

@@LorenBird Got the rear shock on. Had to have bushings machined to be perfect.. Also rear spring is impossible to find. China makes titanium ones. I may get a 550x3.5 right now I have a 500x3.15 sls seems to work good.

I am 59 and I LOVE the Sur Ron Luna Light Bee that I bought two years ago. I was able to reach 47 mph on the road even with my 200 lbs of weight, and the damn thing can pop wheelies! .

How’s it working for you ? Any problems? Maintenance? How many miles can you go before it dies ?

@@tbone2123 its amazing. No maintenance. Tho the brake pads and back tire will be the first things to wear out. Already replaced the pads. It can go as far as you can take it. If you go lets say 5mph then it can take you beyond 60 plus miles and then some but if you go full throttle which is 50mph then it goes about 40 miles. It all depends how you use it

My Sur-Ron finally arrived. I received an update from Luna/FedEx on August 11, it arrived August 14, at around 3:30 PM, and I started putting it together right away! As a matter of fact I already went off on a long ride on "Santa Rosa Creek Road" here in Cambria, CA. I was surprised yet not surprised to see a bunch of bicyclists on that road lol. Btw this is definitely my first DIRT BIKE even ELECTRIC DIRT BIKE or "STEED" lol. Also, for some reason I ended up with the RST Killa fork! I don't know if that's good or bad, but so far so good! 😄👍✌️

I successfully pre-ordered on July 14, I received it August 14, put it together and went off to test it, in EP mode of course, I didn't wanna kill myself on the first go around! 😅

Got mine about 3 week ago. Same exact as yours but no front fender. Did yours come with the fender ?So fun though. Like you said . Right out of the garage on the bike path to the trails . So fun !! Thanks for posting 🙌🏼

You’re very welcome, mine did come with a front fender. Did you get one with DNM suspension? If so you should definitely ask about the missing fender.

We bought two bikes directly from Alibaba. One grey and one green with RST. We got 1 black and one blue instead with DNM.....However, we have done some mods on our bikes and now its really awesome for trails :)

@@LorenBird Yeah that so true! I did a lot of research on Alibaba to find a legit seller. Even though we got wrong colors and forks but at least, we got them. Ive heard and seen several people that got scamed from Alibaba and to be honest, one moment I thought I was getting scamed aswell when the seller stoped replying. Would I do it again? NO! Its much easier for you guys in US buy from luna instead 😎

Hey Lorenzo, thanks for watching 🤙 Luna does have lots of parts and upgrades that you can buy from them and I am pretty sure that they will install them. Sometimes they even have a Luna special edition Sur Ron. My experience was just buying a stock Sur Ron because I wanna build it up the way I want it........For the dirt 😝

I got one last week put a fox 40 on it it would not fit if u get the fox 40 dropper crown then your good to go. It was a pain to get it right here in Colorado no one knows what they are so I was on my own . This thing is bad ass friends with dirt bikes are like I want one. The Next Red Shift will be the best.

I think you mean the Cyrusher? I think thats a totally different style of riding. This is more a pit bike that can handle more rough terrain. I would def recommend the Sur'ron... or it's competitor, the Talaria.

Nice work, really good video. I am planning to buy Sur Ron but i have doubt about battery temperature as we all ride dirt bike to their limits so this electric version batteries will heat up a lot, its a most important critical factor but no video shows what exactly temperature behaviour of sur ron batteries in field, can you guyz show us, it would be so exciting to watch temperature behaviour of Sur Ron battery in action.

Not sure on exact temperature of the battery but I was definitely concerned about it when I was riding hard in Sedona mid summer and I didn’t have any issues.

I guess most of the people concern about speed, power, range but temp is something related to health of battery. If we ignore then it will cost later. If possible can you check what is max temp sur ron battery goes while heavy riding?

The surron is amazing. I live in ri and it’s perfect for here. I almost sold mine but I just couldn’t do it. I ended up getting the mountain bike I wanted. So now I want to make something out of the surron. Like a mini gocart. Or just overhaul it.

Yes you do, no pedals but you can get them for extra if you want them..... Although I have heard that the pedal kit sucks.

I do believe that there is some but I have heard that it is not very ideal from a few guys. Not sure why but that’s why I didn’t try it.

I have one, so far the only mods have been replacing the mountain bike tires with real motorcycle tires and replacing the 48 tooth sprocket with a 58 tooth sprocket.

I didn't have to do any modifications to my Sur Ron... It goes 45-51MPH out of the box. Some times they make it so you have to cut a wire though.

Does the battery have a lock? Does it freewheel when coasting or does it have regenerative braking?

Yes the battery compartment locks, and it does have regen braking but you can tune the regen or have none. 👍

Thanks for the info. I placed my order 2 days ago and keep checking my email for an update on shipping but it sounds like I should be patient. Hard to do when super stoked! Anyway, question about the lighting. Would I be able to leave those off without any issues? Would like to keep the bike as stealth as possible and the lights give off the look of a motorcycle.

Yes you can hook up a switch to the light or just unplug it all together. Just wouldn’t want to get stuck in the dark without it.

No I haven’t done that yet, I wanted to keep it all stock and not do anything to the bike for the whole first month of hard testing it to see how reliable it is.

Range is around 20-40 miles per charge depending on if you use sport mode.

What are your thoughts on this bike for someone that's about 5'11" 275lb? I've ridden tiny pit bikes that are 110 cc and they seem to do okay with the weight. I'm not looking to go nuts and jump this thing all over, but I do want it to hold while I speed along rough terrain.

Hey James, I haven’t had any more issues since the most recent video. Bike is still working great. Did you see the video “watch before you buy” ? I think Luna has bikes in stock so that’s cool cause if they do there wouldn’t be a wait and you can ask what suspension they have on them and they’ll know cause they already have the shipment.

I have heard mixed reviews about alibaba, I’ve heard of some people getting ripped off and then I’ve heard of some people finding a legitimate seller and getting a decent deal. Personally I don’t recommend it but if it’s your only option make sure you do your research and are in contact with the seller.

Good questions, it does pretty well on hills in sport mode but when you use sport mode and go up hills it cuts your 40 miles to a charge down to like 16-20

Yes as long as you’re in EP or what I like to call bicycle mode then you should be fine. If you are riding around town in sport mode you might have problems

I am a little over 6’3” and it’s fine. A little smaller than I would like it to be but totally fine especially when you upgrade your bars and front wheel. Yes they also sell a seat extension for it.

@@LorenBird Thank you, I would greatly appreciate your help. since I want to be sure of those details before buying the surron and that cable that goes to the battery worried me since I am generally used to only connecting a single cable to a scooter but I saw in videos that this surron connects two cables of the battery which one is voltage and the other is communication data. Greetings friend and very good tutorial really helped me decide on the surron and not the segway

I got mine in 2019. I run a 64 t rear sprocket BAC 4000 controller. NXT display. Stock battery. ( doubles the power n no loss of range. It’s more efficient). Go on eBay immediately and buy the foot peg bar that goes between the 2 brackets. I’m 220 lbs and I hit a table top and the bracket snapped off. It’s made of cast metal and ever since I bought the bar , no problems ! 👍🏼 . I’m accustomed to MX bikes. I wanted something quiet to ride w my son and this is fantastic. Buy better tires and a HD tube. When you have to replace the primary belt ( gear reduction belt on the right side. ). Get a Gates 17mm belt from EBay UK. $45 but well worth the money. Be cautious with Electric Race Technologies , he sells the BAC controller s and nxt display s for the US. Over promises , little to no response, but unfortunately the only game in town. I’ve always had a good luck with Luna Cycles, and they’ve always gotten back to me right away. Just my personal experience. Buy one you will like it. !

ERT are scammers, you can buy asi controllers for much cheaper in europe from the guy in endless sphere forum sales section. You will need to make the harness though afaik.
