Just ordered one of these. Sure hope It can withstand -40 in the winters. lol.
@jiimmyboy63
@jiimmyboy63 Год назад
Put it in my and my dad's trucks (5.3/6L80) about a month ago. Running about 135 on the highway in 50-70 degree weather. Will see how they do this winter, we only get down to teens and maybe a few single digit negative days.

@jaybilawchuk2225 Год назад
@@jiimmyboy63 yeah you’ll be fine in those temps. I’m in Manitoba Canada where we see mid -40’s to -50’s thru January and February. I don’t think this will be good come then in my 17 Sierra. Have it in now and it’s good but it’s already running way too cold. 6.2 gas with 8L90 8 speed.
@fishman80
@fishman80 6 месяцев назад
@@jaybilawchuk2225agree. Way too cold in those climates. these average about 100° over ambient temperature I love mine but I can get away with it where I live. I have friends that live way up north and their transmissions never get above 30° in the winter. That’s the part they dont tell you …
@jaybilawchuk2225
@jaybilawchuk2225 6 месяцев назад
@@fishman80 very accurate. My winter operating temps when warmed up with this bypass is 18 - 20C. I don’t think that is healthy at all. Frozen fluid is prob causing more failure than overheating. I had to switch mine out. I just couldn’t run with temps that low.
@fishman80
@fishman80 6 месяцев назад
@@jaybilawchuk2225 yup. I mean it’s a great product for what it does depending where you live but I don’t understand why they don’t tell you that. the advertisement of temperature decreases up to 40° is not accurate, it’s not how it works. like I said, it’s a great product but your temperatures are 100% dictated on what the ambient temperature outside is.

I am planning to install this bypass. Once installed, will it automatically open when I flush the transmission?
@superiortransmissionpartsi5357
@superiortransmissionpartsi5357 2 года назад
It's full wide open all the time, unless a condition exists where the bypass would need to function. But yes it will flush w/o issue
@jaycastillo9313

Will this be a problem on my 8l90 in the winter up North? Is it a full time flow or just opens at a lower temperature? Thanks!

Sure will if it's blocked, if you can't remove the piece someone blocked it with, you still should be able to use ours, if not buy the new block and add ours and remove theirs. Bout a 100 buck total. Beats 4 G
@superiortransmissionpartsi5357
@superiortransmissionpartsi5357 3 года назад
Also, the thick viscosity of the oil pushes the ball over to start bypassing untill it warms up and flows. That's why it's dynamic acting instead of static. The factory one will stick.

I have a 2014 escalade esv awd and I am trying to find the block on my transmission to get this installed. Any ideas where it's located or how it looks?
@superiortransmissionpartsi5357
@superiortransmissionpartsi5357 2 года назад
If it's a 6L80E it's in the block on the driver's side above the transmission pan rail it has a 13 mm bolt and a clip on one end.

In 2014 some had a small block (thin) 1 in or less thickness. If you don't have the clip on the end then you don't have One.

How about a list of authorized distributors, it would be nice if I could purchase directly from you but if that's not possible the name of someone you've chosen as a distributor would be helpful. It's to easy to post a picture of the package and claim to be the seller.

STP Part STL010 cooler flow Sure~Cool® system patented and patent pending tech is made in the USA. you can go to our website and hit the "find a distributor" tab and type in your address and it will pull up the closest dist. or you can google our part numbers (i.e. STL010) and there are several online retailers. we do not sell direct as we are the manufacture and developer of the products based here in Tallahassee Florida. sorry for the long response time we were on an extended VACA.

No we are in development on the 10L and 10R. Some 2019-2020 had the external block on the driver's side of the trans. If yours has it you can use the STL 010. If not we should have one by 1st Q 2022

You are making the claim that the Sure-Cool STL010 fits ALL GM 6-speed 6L90 transmissions. Well, your communication and advertising are untrue and 100% incorrect! I currently own a 2016 GMC Sierra 2500HD 6.0L gasser with the 6L90 Hydra-Matic 6-speed and my transmission DOES NOT have a thermostat block mounted on the transmission. You need to be more truthful and upfront when making these types of blanket claims in your statements. imo
@superiortransmissionpartsi5357

We have been updating uses / applications and are bringing more of them in the future. The majority of the Larger 90's do not have them, if you follow some of the older versions of the vids that are circulating, it's not as clear on exact uses, but what is stated is to see visually, what one looks like and where they are located and how quickly you can install them (if you have one on it or in your particular case not) the 6L90 has a junction block on the side of the trans where the lines connect, some may have them in a separate block in the lines up under the batt tray also. We're just trying to show our product vs shoving a bolt in and blocking flow. I do know the 2500 and 3500 if it was ordered for a cold climate and Canada production could have one up on an additional cooler / heater and ours would replace that type but out of the handful of customers up north we have gotten no reports that theirs isn't on it, the Allison's for example incorporated it in only 2017-2019 the RPO code is L5P and we found that after the early videos aired. It's a work in progress and hope you understand the product. I have talked about making a add on for the rest of the 6L90 crowd myself included, I have a 2015 MH and want it on that so maybe in the future but the cost would more expensive as we would have to manufacture cooler blocks at our plant and the costs for manufacturing it would be out of the ball park unless we had mass qtys. I do appreciate your comments and feedback, we want to let everyone know that if you do have it on your transmission in a factory set up, the sooner you install our sure~cool® system the less chance a stuck pellet ruins your transmission.

Sorry for any inconveniences that may have incurred. If your having problems returning one you purchased to a vendor, I can clear that up too. Just let us know.

@@superiortransmissionpartsi5357 Yes, I did purchase one of your Sure-Cool STL010 bypass kits on ebay from a seller named "transmissionjobber" on 1/30/22. I requested a return/refund from the seller explaining that I had made a mistake and didn't realize my 2016 GMC Sierra 2500HD did NOT have a thermostat block. I provided photos of my transmission showing there was no thermostat block present. Still, the seller declined my return request. Now I have a new & unused STL010 Bypass Kit which I paid $46.26 (tax included) setting in my garage. If you could, I would really appreciate your help in addressing this matter. Thank you.

@@scshufran251 you need to send me a copy of the invoice and I'll take it from there. They don't ring a bell as an authorized distributor, and since it's our network of distribution I'll find out why they didn't take it back and issue a refund. If you can scan it to me at bob.stp@comcast.net I'll address it Monday.
