jrjose, I'm using the Magpul MBUS PRO Steel Backup Sights amzn.to/3lnGm4w I have a couple of sets of them and I like them. I do mostly DYI Automotive videos where people need the Tools and Part/Consumables required for the Task, so I put all required or mentioned stuff in the Video Description. - Stiles

My instructions also say to turn it 1 &1/2 times counterclockwise to lock it off but it locks off if I only turn it, literally just 1 millimeter. I dont like that. It tells me that its already barely making a connection. Im curious whether thats the case for anyone else.

Heyman, You are right that doesn't sound good. I haven't been taking mine off and putting back on. I suspect that if you do, you may have problems. - Stiles

@@StilesAutomotiveThis will be a long explanation but after investigating it, surefire suffers from the same problems of cheap flashlights in that the threads and body are used a one polarity connection while the internal center spring is the other. So when the flashlight body threads bottom out on the gold/brass plate in the bottom of the tail cap, that is what makes the connection to the switch. However, surefire doesn't have any flex or spring to the connecting point between the switch and the threads. The gold/brass plate is stationary. Therefore, it's a zero tolerance connection thats easily and immediately disconnected with the slightest turn of the tail cap. Instead of the gold plate/ring being stationary and flat, surefire should instead use what is called a "wave spring washer" rather the flat gold washer. A wave spring washer guarantees that the connection made between flashlight body threads and the switch, is not easily broken since it flexes up and down. I remedied this problem by twisting up some aluminum foil into a thin wire and shaped it into a circle and put it on top of the gold plate in the bottom of the tail cap. Now the connection is maintained until I turn the tail cap almost one complete turn counterclockwise. The foil simply adds some more contact area between the plate and the flashlight body threads. Once I can find the appropriate wave spring washer, I will simply put that in the bottom of the tail cap in order to make it an actual "professional" modification.

@@heyman5525have you try “padding” the contact area with bead of solder? I’ve done it to a few modded torch that has poor connection between the tube and the caps/head.
