Surf and Surfskate Trip to Hawaii Day 1+2

Oahu is one of our favourite places to surf, but we haven't been since before I started surfskating. This is the first VLOG post of our trip where we have a ton of adventure and spots planned out, maybe even a few guest appearances in future posts. Despite going on little sleep, we got an EPIC day of skating on our first day in Oahu!

Yeah, I'm with you on the masks. Last thing I want after saving up and flying to my holiday is to sit in a hotel bed feeling crap. Or .... coming home to work is bad enough, but with a virus .... no thanks.

Oh I know, it is like THE City in Canada for skating, but we always have an awkward layover time that isn't quite long enough to justify leaving the airport and going back through security again or risking delay and missing the connection. Have family there so someday we'll have a reason to stick around a bit longer.

What airline did you fly on? Wondering how you were able to take the surfskate decks as a carry-on item as the length is outside of carry-on dimensions. I'll be travelling soon myself and would love to bring my surfskate but just worry that they may not let me take it on board with me (even with the trucks removed).

WestJet, but have also done it on Air Canada, United, Sata, Porter. The key is walking in confident. If you get questioned say it sits flat behind the carry-on suitcases or under the seats, thus only taking up space that wasn’t being used anyway.
