@@Billyfishing_watch Fished Newcastle beach in Wicklow tonight with metal lures and didn't even get a touch. Heading to Skjervoy in September... can't wait 🥳
Just arrived back from a long weekend away with family and friends. No line was wetted even though there was a damn great tidal river calling me for 3 days and, yesterday, a beautiful beach crying out for a cast. So bloody happy to have returned to catch your video Billy! 🙂
@@Billyfishing_watch Always enjoy your videos Billy! 🙂 Sometimes even family comes before fishing.... Yes, I had all my gear just in case I got an opportunity but, sadly, no! So your video completed my weekend away 🙂
Hey Billy, I have to say thank you. Heading back from Denmark at the moment. Got some fishing in while I was there. I have never before fished with surfcasting gear. Used your Pulley P rig and was able to catch one cod and two flounder. Had a blast!
Great video Billy! Well done on the Flatties. Thanks for the useful Tripod, wind & weed tips. Managed to totally avoid Covid until this week and we seem to have brought it back from France. Both of us unwell - life on hold. C'est la vie. Looks like Denmark is a 'nice Plaice'! Stay safe & well. 🎣🎣👍👍
Looks like a blast. I will be on the west coast of Denmark in mid October. May have to test my luck. Haven't done this type of fishing before. I am new to Europe and watching your videos has me fascinated with different types of shore fishing.
hi Billy - that's one thing I do miss here in NZ.... flatfish. We only have Flounders and Sole, slightly different to yours and rarely caught on rod and line. My 'best (?)' two lines mess here involved a medium sized Conger Eel.....you can imagine the result 😂 Tight lines, Ian
Hi Ian. I love to hear about the fish other guys get. Are the flounder you get like the American flounder? Do you get conger? or are they long fin eels, you are taking about. I would not like to imagine the mess they would make of your tackle 🤣😂 thanks Brother, see you on the beach 👍😁
@@Billyfishing_watch our flounders are rounder and have heads more like your Dover Sole. Our Sole are not as elongated as yours, look more like a cross between your Flounders and Dover Sole. Both make delicious eating 😊 We have enormous long fin and short fin freshwater eels here that I've had a few encounters with while Trout fishing. Our Congers are almost exactly the same as yours though.
Yay, some good flatties as promised! Taking my lures to the beach and rocks tomorrow for some VITAMIN SEA. Target is Bass but Mackerel welcome if any turn up. I need to go and practice some bait-casting at some point as I'm rubbish - that's why I struggle to catch and just feed the crabs. Pendulum cast looks awesome but dangerous.
Hi Viking, that sounds great. Maybe I can help with the casting. I have 3 vids on casting, just some good tips. Nothing too complicated. Thanks brother just follow the links👍😁👌
Solid advice right throughout, good on you mate 👏 Did you ever fish in West Cork? I had a few great summers touring the southwest coast, I'm desperate to go back someday!
Hi Pete, thanks bud. Yes I have fished west Cork, and from the Shannon river. And back again. Fantastic fishing, love it. You never know, you might see me there soon🤫
I just stumbled upon your channel and am well impressed! As for Denmark's Westcoast, I heard that turbot can be caught from the beaches. Did you target or even encounter any?
Hi bud. Yes you can catch them in the south, in the spring. A very good one is about 45cm, average size 30-35. But you need to be lucky! Glad you enjoyed the videos, thanks Brother 😁👌
Exact same thing happened to me on the Northumberland coast, two tangled lines full of weed so very frustrating. Do you find you lose a lot of flat fish using hairs/dongle rigs with circle hooks?
It's good to sew you getting back into the swing of things Bud. Three questions for you. Can I freeze rag worm like you freeze black lug? Is there any chance we could take a peek at your tackle box? I'm thinking of getting one myself. What did you use as a shelve on your tripod (thickness)? Also, how did you connect it to the legs? I know...Damned Yank is being a pain in the arse again. lol Hey thanx for posting.
Hi Randy. No you can not freeze rag worm, they just turn to mush. As for my box, did you ever hear of Pandora 😂🤣 sometime I'll give you a look in side. As for the tray it's still in development, and I hope to make money from it one day. Thanks Brother, See you on the beach 👍😁
@@Billyfishing_watch I've watched a few vids about brinng them. The cost here is through the roof on them. When I make it back home I'll give it a shot. $80 for 125 worms.
@@Billyfishing_watch I'm up in the North West Highlands, currently got big tides just now.....and yes, you're spot on with the Bristol channel..only the bay of fundy has a bigger range
Hi Mike. You just need to thumb the spool a little bit more, I think. If you are doing that, then check the brake blocks to see if they need replacing. Thanks Brother 👍😁
There are more than two types of fish, and there are more countries than just one. Life is for experience and adventure and you'll never get that in just one place , fish on👍
