Surf City in North Carolina, which is perched on Topsail Island and overlooks the Atlantic Ocean, is a charming, laid-back coastal town that provides an opportunity to experience beach life without the obtrusive high-rise hotels and glitzy resorts that have come to characterize so many of America's best beaches. Here, you may unwind on the beach while eating fresh seafood
from the area and taking in the tranquil views of Surf City and Topsail Island.
For more than 60 years, Surf City has served as Topsail Island's commercial hub. Although Surf City receives its fair share of visitors, it is not the traditional tourist destination that goes empty in the off-season. A year-round population of about 1,900 people supports Surf City's attractive, vibrant downtown.
