Great fun! Congratulations! Off the video topic I caught some huge bluegills off of Lake Erie yesterday. I mentioned this because the technique to fillet them is precisely like pompano. That head meat was adding 1/2" to 1" to the fillet length. Yes these were huge gills. 1lb and better.
Classic Cape Cod estuary fishing, incoming tide, deep pockets, good current, clear water and most importantly overcast. Try it with a 9wt fly rod and intermediate sinking line next time. Congratulations from Harwich.
@4:49 woooooo! yessah, thats what its all about fella's! Im hoping you guys had a nice J to celebrate the catch! Headed to S. Yarmouth later today for the week and hoping the land a blue.
I wanna see your reaction when you get nailed by a 40-50". You are very genuine in your love of fishing. Thanks for having us along. Can't wait to see the rest of the week. Oh and rockfish filets stuffed with crab imperial, just saying. Tight lines
Just got home from the Cape myself been going there my whole life glad you got to experience the Joy's of the Cape it's an amazing place it's my home away from home
This is so ridiculously awesome!! I've lived in the northeast and been striper fishing many times.....it is NOT as easy as this! Lol. Big grin on my face the entire length of the video!! Thank you!!!
This place got wrecked after this video, I was wondering what was going on when I saw 10 people there one night. I wish they brought him somewhere less obvious.
Will be up there next week for the 2024 Spring Porgy/ Black Sea Bass run on the Helen H out of Hyannis, but plan on bringing my jigging gear for Stripes too. Glad to see and hear the excitement.
I miss my home state stomping grounds and neighboring r.I. , stripers, chinnies and 20lb. blues. so glad your enjoying it! great vid. hope ya can hit fall migration.
Awesome videos of the Cape can't wait for the rest of the week I live on the Cape and wonder where you were, the Cape is surrounded by Stripers from May until the Fall
Can't believe you have never caught a striper below Jordan Dam on top water. I'll be there in about 2 weeks. Right now all the stripers are below Mitchell Dam. Top water is the best bite. Nice video.
What beach was this filmed at? I'm in cape for a couple of weeks and trying to find the right spot, I feel like the canal would be a great spot and plan to go just trying to explore other areas of cape along the way
If you want a big striper, use a large medium diving plug, natural colored. Keep reeling it even, like a trolling bait. I caught a huge one!!! I thought I had hooked a stump or rock!!!
Hello Courtney, Meme, Elise, John, Matt and Mathew. Fantastic video catching some big Cape Cod stripers. Y'all have fun and have a safe trip. I apologize if I got your daughter's name wrong.
They catch stripers on top all the time in Maine and Mass (when they’re running) with surf rods. They use a 2-4 oz lure (forgot the name) made out of wood and they use a technique with the rod between their legs. Moderate pace retrieving and shaking the rod up and down gives the appearance its fleeing a predator. Really gets the stripers excited! I’ve tried in here in East Coast central Florida during the mullet run. Caught the biggest Bluefish in my life, 31 inches.
Bucket list trip for sure for me. I’ve caught giant stripers in TN as a guide, but to experience the beach bite in Massachusetts is a trip in my future for sure
We have them up here in the upstate South Carolina. In lake hartwell and lake greenwood. I love catching them always a good fight to land them. Tight lines bama beach bum keep up with the great videos.
Awesome video, you should fish in September when the cows, big strippers that is, 60 inches pluss here in Rhode Island. Not far from cape cod. Try where the water is brackish for tons of fun. Fish on.
I'm excited. Get em Matt. I've never caught a real Striper. I remember reading about catching these back in the 60's when all we had was SportsAfield, OutDoor Life and Field and Stream Magazines.
What a great day of catching stripers absolutely phenomenal I've fish a striper run like that here in Indiana and over in Iowa there's nothing like the adrenaline rush what number on a run like that one of the best state that I've ever used to catch them is what we call gay blade it's a flat metal Leaf shaped lure weighted with a leaded front you really have to crank them hard but the stripers go crazy over them look them up and check them out I think you would like fishing with them👍👍
Jigs, top waters, and swim shads will work there as I know EXACTLY where you're fishing. Took me 2 minutes in to know where you are. I go by boat tho so I don't see those signs. You must've taken a decent walk in. That's my little honey spot. Please keep it quiet ....shhhhhhh. I emailed you a fish I caught recently. Glad to see you up here in my neck of the ocean.
problem isnt finding the spot since we have google earth. Probelm is the permitted parking in some cities around the cape which makes it difficult at times. But I know exacly where hes at and im sure he got a permit to park at one of two places.
they have hybrids of striper and white bass artificially stocked in Lake Somerville in Texas because they do not occur their naturally and even though they are small relatively speaking like, 15 inches and have to be 18 to keep, dang, yep, they fight! Even lil ole regular white bass fight hard for their smaller size of 10 inches
such a sick video man… what beaches were you fishing here ??!! I go every year a few times over the course of the summer but havn’t seen a place like this before…
Great video. We get on the stripers here on lake Lanier in georgia. Let me know if you ever want to shoot a video here with us. We will put you on them
Great video! I saw your other one you posted the other day on the canal! That was a monster! Where was this spot? I’m headed out in the morning and am new to the cape cod area but I’m gonna give it a shot!
