surf fishing for SHARK AND TROUT - what are the chances? 

Coop - you’d do every fish you catch and release a favor if you’d wet your hand before you grabbed them. I’m a marine biologist, that’s legit. I get wanting to keep your catch fresh but using a stringer is kind of redundant as you can see by the end of the video there both dead. Because you use a stringer around the gills they eventually break their gills and they bleed out/drown this puts stress on the fish and they release chemicals which kind of ruins the taste. The best three methods are a catch bag/live well and ikijime the first two still stresses the fish out so your best bet is to when you decide your going to keep a fish just put a knife in its brain and then string it. And either cut its gills if your not going to Iki jime it. The cooler water temperature will keep it just as fresh as if you strung it alive.

Yeah shark do get shallow I was in Gulf Shores fishing for Reds in two foot of water and I probably a 8ft shark blow up 10 ft away from me and I had a red hanging off my belt

When the ladyfish are out I always use a 12" flouro leader on my jigheads.
