I thoroughly enjoyed this video! You are a great sportsman (circle hooks, crimped barb, proper hook removal tool). Excellent tips bro. Production Question: How were you able to get such excellent audio (i.e. no wind noise)???
Thanks for the vid Jimmy. I'm a big Daiwa fan and searched around for a "baitfeeder" model made by them without any luck. Is this a new reel recently released?
Thanks for watching! It's new this year, called the "Free Swimmer." The secondary bait drag is known as a "bait feeder," but most guys just call it a "baitrunner," which is a trademarked term for a Shimano Reel. Here's the link to the Free Swimmer Page: daiwa.us/products/free-swimmer - Jimmy
@@rtorres3442 we've been using them since late July, and they've held up well so far, through a couple dunkings and drops in the sand. Drag is nice and smooth, and paired with the Emblem Pro 1202MHFS. The rod is rated to 8, but 5-6 is the sweet spot. It's light in hand, has a moderate fast action, that's good for soaking bait, and has a good amount of backbone for a lightweight rod. All in all, it's been a fun mid-weight bait-fishing combo.
When me and my buddy go (which is practically every weekend during the summer) we usually have our drags set tighter to let the shark set itself but also we have a better visual of the rod bending on a hit, should we keep them looser or does it not particularly matter?
This was on the south side of the Cape. The sharks will probably be gone, or at least scarcer by the time you visit, but there will be plenty of bass and blues.
@@OnTheWaterMedia is there a section that’s better than others I’m trying to find a good spot for a trip me and some buddy’s are taking any advice would be hugely appreciated
