Surf Fishing Tip of the Week # 51 Dave Anderson on Pencil Popping For more original video content please visit our publication at www.surfcastersjournal.com.
Rod is a Century Slingshot SS1327 2-5 oz, “Mod/fast” (but considering the lack of any standards across the market in terms of rod action I would definitely label this rod more as fast action) Reel: VS 275 Lure: Guppy Jobo Sr. 3.5 oz Green Mackerel Pencil Popper
Hey Dave--Great video! I just bought a few of these pencils too. Anyhow, I'd also like to know what rod you're using in this video as the length and action looked nice. Thanks for any info on rod specs. -Rob
AJ Carreiro lol you ain’t too bright huh? Why don’t you watch the surfcasters journal video with sebile lures posted from October 2016 and tell me that it’s not the same exact location. You do realize that they film a lot of things at once and then release the content in sections in order to have steady content being released. And ideal temps 40 degrees lollll?? For what, hypothermia? Because it sure isn’t for striper fishing. Do me a favor and go stand in the corner with a dunce cap on. You’ve lost your speaking privileges
Its called sarcasm buddy ... see the big capital letters?!? If you can't see the humor of people asking if they can fish the canal with snow on the ground and water that is 15-20 degrees too cold, maybe you aren't so bright ;)
Good no nonsense advice.Back in the day, amber, brown or mustard yellow were the go to colors in plugs, trying to mimic squid(brown),or the golden sheen of alewives, menhaden(yellow ).Never cared much for pencils or most poppers for that matter, tins and swimmers took my best fish, just saying.
