I don't always comment on videos, but when I do, I do it for the support. I checked so many channels, this one is the best. Short introduction what to expect, very atmospheric intro clip, explanations are on point, straightforward without unnecessary jabbering. But most important: so helpful! Never ever has someone explained to me as "advanced" beginner the stance that clear, understandable and realizable - not only the how but also the why! Thanks so much and keep up the good work, especially those example clips from inside the water! Ps: stunning landscape Pps: I think those mini zooms at 2:18 and after aren't necessary

It sounds a bit weird, but I've found that if I think about pushing my feet apart, like I'm standing on a towel and trying to spread it out, I have better balance and control of the board. It changes surfing from a feeling of riding on the board to the board being attached to my feet and being in control of it.

For me one open question remains: how do I know where to lay on the board in the first place? In the water I take the "nose to water distance" as orientation, but for practicing on land? It's even harder when surfing different sizes...
