Do not get the base model if you plan on doing anything other than having a few tabs open, and if that is the case there are much more affordable options such as chromebooks.
I've been looking to upgrade from my Surface Tablet, which has been a great business platform for me, to get into Gopro and drone video editing. Was hoping this might be the ticket, but it doesn't look like it's stout enough in that area.

Hello benji i've got an question I got the gigabyte aero 15 xc (upgraded 32gb and 1tb ssd from your upgrade video) but it started to give me the Bios screen but sometimes when it boots it just put me in the windows screen again, do you know how to fix the bios screen problem?
Macbook is better for the same price. However you can get the 128gb SSD model with unnoticeable performance differences for a lot less. Got mine as B ware for 430€/about $500 incl. taxes

There is a secret about very small laptops like this 12.4inch laptop. The truth is you want a laptop screen that has high vertical height otherwise it will hurt your neck trying to get eye level to it. This laptop is not 16:9 aspect ratio or even 16:10. It is 3:2!!!
You should do your homework before giving a none thought out research. There are screws underneath the rubber feet and you can get it to open to upgrade the laptop. I just did mine to 512gb.
