No, I got it, too many issue! They are going to replace me the refurbished unit!!! They thought everyone is IT specialist, making you follow the steps on web for recovery... after recovery more problem!!! They are replacing me REFURBISHED unit, no refund!!!!! Till now, more than 2 weeks, not even seen the REFURBISHED unit. Wasting time and 💰!!!!
Just bought the exact model and colour here in Australia few weeks ago and I'm impressed with its appearance and performance as well since I need a new laptop after using macbook for the last 6 years and now going back to windows os! I didn't regret it! :))))
Great review. I just got one of these open box sale on Ebay for $619 for the 256GB version running Windows 10 Pro. My only regret of the lack of keyboard backlighting but overall great device at a good price!
I’m a writer. I only use laptops for Word and web browsing. This looks like a perfect buy for me as opposed to the more expensive MacBook Air. I prefer using Word for word processing, so this is a win. $699 way better than $899-999 for MacBook.
@@Grandream it works great. Large word files handle as fine as they do on most computers. Meaning sometimes a slight lag when first opening but nothing terrible.
I found the 8Gb+128Gb model on Ebay for just $450 in the USA (sandstone color), refurbished by Microsoft itself, repackaged just like the new ones and also with a 2 year warranty. At that price point I think it is fantastic value. I really like the fact that Microsoft repackages the refurished ones again in a sealed box with shrink wrap. Makes it look like you get a 100% new product. I mean, I live in Belgium, and even with the extra transport & import fees because I bought in in the USA, it is still great value. So if you live in the US, these refurbished ones are even better value.
I love it.. i used a 200$ windows laptop for 3 years, 1 year of high school and 1 year of college..and now it works great till I changed my major... 2gb of ram and 32 gb of storage😂”... so the amount of ram doesn’t bug me or lack of a backlit keyboard...
I like the simple look of this and the screen resolution reminds me of old MacBooks Airs 2010-2017 which I don’t mind. But 1080p does seem to be the standard for mid range laptops so it’s a bit strange that Microsoft chose the lower resolution when they released the Surface Go 1/2 with a better resolution than this Laptop Go. I think I may pick this one up in the i5 + 8gb ram configuration if we ever see a deep discount in the future. Thanks for the video and Close up shots of the device 👍
I've only had it a little less than a week and so far it's worth it. I was going to just bite the bullet and pay the $700 but the day I went to get it I actually caught it on sale at Best Buy for the base model price of $549 and got it with no hesitation. I had been torn between it and the lenovo flex 5 2-in-1 cause the lenovo is so similar to the acer that I was upgrading from, but ultimately went with the Surface Laptop Go because the build is just absolutely beautiful. The pettiest complaint I have is that the ice blue looks silver in most lights and might as well be the platinum model unless you're in dimmer lighting :(
I have a second gen Surface Laptop M version that I love and was looking for an upgrade. I was looking at this but, the lack of a backlight on the keyboard is a deal breaker for me. Thanks for the review.
This exact spec (8gb ram, 128 gb ssd) is now available for $550. I think I'm gonna pull the trigger, on the Sandstone colorway for my wife's Xmas gift.
tbh, for me, the backlighting would be nice but not really a big deal for me but maybe it's because i don't always play in the dark and once i have my hands on the keyboard. i kinda know where everything is. I'm still thinking of whether i should purchase this or not. My gaming laptop is too big to lug around everywhere and if the borders open by end of the year, i need a laptop i can bring around without all the fuss .
I really want to buy this laptop but idk if does it overheat when using light programs like Web browsing and word. And is the fan laud or not, and is it good for the long run?
So, do you think the base model is ok for me, cuz I only use Microsoft edge and excel(max 6 to 8 tab at once) and I store my files in cloud storage. My budget is tight, considering buying one.
I can´t stand people saying that the base model it´s only good for websurfing. Really? you are telling me that for someone that need a laptop to work or even a student that need a laptop to run text or data, base specs are not enougth? I have a Celeron laptop running only office and it works like a charm. First world problems, i think
Perhaps, but, you also have to factor in the price. If that is all you are using a laptop for there are wayyyyyy cheaper options that may even have better specs. Personally, I don't understand overpaying for a low-spec laptop.
Question, have you used it till now? If you haven't, and you plug it in now and use it, has the battery degraded over time, or is it still as good as new?
@@dad.0Ah, ok. And how long does the laptop last for you? Or how long did it last when you were actively using it? I'm getting a used one from eBay, and I've been given the battery lifecycle, and it's only been charged 127 times, which means I have 873 cycles before it degrades, and I have never used a surface device before, so I just want to make sure it'll last about 4-5 hours. I found out the hard way that most laptop reviewers don't review the same way people do phones with testing battery life and stuff :/
Hey do you think it will be able to video edit? Like light video editing ( 720 and 1080p video clips ) as I want something light and small with excellent build quality under 700$. Do you suggest it? Will it be able to do what I want it to do?
