Kayak fishing for Bass with surface lures over inshore reefs with an amazing sunrise -
I wanted to head out on the kayak at first light to fish some reefs inshore that usually hold a few fish on them during the early mornings.
The sea was flat calm and there was a nice bit of tide pushing past the reefs. A little bit of swell breaking over the reefs made it look really promising and well worth casting a surface lure over the reef to see if I could hook into some Bass before heading closer inshore to try some weedless lures for some Wrasse.

Had my PB wrasse from the cove under the viewing platform a couple of weeks ago not the longest but a real chunk he was towing the kayak about. Loads of dolphin about at the moment but we only had one mackerel a couple of smallish bass and average size pollock out in deeper water off Sorel Point. 👏👏👍👍🎣🎣

That setting, at launch, was stunning, what a time to be alive and living the dream! Your fault, Sam! Bought an Enigma Fishing Pro 12 yesterday, came with pretty much EVERYTHING, including a Lowrance Hook2 4X sounder. Absolutely buzzing!!! On call out all this week, till Friday, so have to wait till next weekend to take her out and catch me some beasts. 😁 Defo hold you and your videos responsible, and that is EXACTLY what I told my Missus, “It's ALL Sam's fault, Bab, he made me do it!”

@@FISHISLANDTV Thinking I'll just go out and kayak first time, not even take a rod! Never even been on kayak before. Anchor, anchor rail string pull thingie, rudder, paddles, fish finder GPS, other boat folk, capsize! 😬Yep, think I'll just go out and splash about for an hour or two, find my feet, then p'raps give it go with a rod next time. Sooooooooo excited, cannot wait to see beautiful Cornwall from a completely different perspective!

That was a great video and I enjoyed seeing the bixby being used Sam. Interesting that was. Can you guesstimate your speed with the motor going and paddling at same time? Loads of benefits to having one of these. Well, except the cost and fitting it. Looked real nice bobbing about wrassing there mate.
