Get this man some therapy! Anyway I’ve wanted to make this since I first watched Encanto, and got a bunch of requests on top of that. So here we go! Maybe it’ll blow up because it’s Encanto related XD
I just realized how sad it probably made Stan feel when Dipper and Mabel didn't want to go on his boat to fish with him because it reminded him about his brother and the Stan o' War...
now all i can think about is how perfectly 'Waiting On a Miracle' fits stanley watching stanford succeed over and over while stanley gets kicked out, fakes his death etc. just the line "I will stand on the side as you shine" fits it so well
Yeah that one may or may not already be in the works. Can’t promise it’ll get to the finish line but. If I do it I plan to do at least a Ford animatic and a couple filler videos in between. Don’t have much variety on this channel but XD
I've seen this video several times now, and honestly? I think this may be my favorite AMV/animatic of 'Surface Pressure' that I've seen. I love how...bitter it is here? With Stan's feelings and strained relationship towards Ford? ESPECIALLY at the end when he jabs a finger in his chest when it's like 'Give it to your brother (sister) and never wonder! If the same pressure would have pulled you under!' It's just so fitting and in character for him and their relationship. Anyway, I'll shut up now.
This is a great animatic and the song works really well for Stan which I wasn't expecting. I loved pretty much everything about this, though my favourite part was probably after 3:13 when all of the worst moments in Stan's life so far were matched to the beats of the song. I also really loved the facial expressions. That being said, I couldn't help but think about how this song could also work from Ford's perspective. It reminded me of some things I read in the comments under a Ford animation, about how he probably bases a lot of his self-worth on always being the smartest one in the room because of the way he and Stan were raised and listening to Surface Pressure I couldn't help but think about how that would probably put a lot of pressure on a kid, especially seeing how everybody treated Stanley who wasn't "the smart one". I can easily imagine how this song could fit a younger Ford who's striving to always be a perfect student, desperate to keep his parents' approval, as well as an older Ford who's struggling because he feels that he has to hide any sign of weakness, fear or doubt because he's supposed to be the one who always knows what to do and how to find a a solution. Nonetheless, now that I've seen your animatic I think that the song actually works perfectly, if not even better, for Stan. Btw, please tell me if I've worded stuff weirdly or incorrectly. I'm trying to get better at expressing my thoughts in English.
Wow, I'm impressed! I was honestly expecting the video to stop somewhere in the middle of the song, but you took the whole thing and ran with it. Plus, it all really fits. Stanley sacrificed a lot for his family, even if he wasn't ever recognized for such. Would have made me teary-eyed, but I was too busy vibing. Surface Pressure is too much of a bop!
I did not expect to LOVE this as much as did!! Like!! This is so good!! I didn’t realize how well this song fits Stan until rn!! EVERYTHUNG is perfect!! The circus line going with his mr mystery facade?? Breaking the machine by accident going with ‘pop’?? That gunshot frame did not deserve to SLAP THAT HARD BUT IT DID. The Stan-of-war ship-doesn’t-swerve shot?? And then, the best moment imo, the if-I-could-shake-this-crushing-weight moment. Acknowledging that Stan probably considered leaving ford and giving up, that his life would be much easier if he just stopped. I LOVE IT!!!
It was amazing, this song fits Stanley perfectly. I love how you choose songs for each character. I listened to the song "What Else Can I Do?" several times and she directly calls Pacifica.
Can I say that I travel by train, 4 hours a day and I CAN NOT stop watching your animatics?? I love them so freaking much, especially the gravity falls ones. Man I love your work
Stan deserves to vent, cause heaven knows he didn’t get to properly in the series. It’s just my favorite subject for art. Hope ya’ll don’t get too sick of it. Planning on doing a Ford animatic soon.
😭😭😭😭😭👏👏👏👏👏❤❤❤❤❤ THIS IS PERFECT!! This song is perfect for Stan and the art, style, and expressions and just all of it are BREATH TAKING!!! YOU REALLY KNOCKED IT OUT OF THE PARK!!! PHENOMENAL
This is amazing bravo you feel for Stan he’s had to cope with his and his brothers bond falling apart before watching him disappear then have to cope with everyday life trying to keep his family safe. It must of hurt when Mabel and Dipper didn’t want to go on his boat must of brought back bad memories of his brother.
Holy shit dude!!! I just came back to your channel to rewatch your Good For You AMV (which RULES btw) and saw you had posted this and got SO EXCITED!! This is really good and now I’m sad about Stan, thank you!!
You know what's kinda sad? Some of Stan's mistakes were not all that serious, but he still paid a terrible price for making them. He hit the table Ford's science project was sitting on, panicked when the grate fell off, tried to fix it and walked away while it was still moving and, to his knowledge, still working fine. For this, he was thrown out of the house and forced to live on the streets before he even finished high school. He got "burned" by Ford after their 10-year-long estrangement and shoved his journal back at him, causing him to stumble back and get sucked up by the portal. For this, Stan had to fake his own death so he could stay in Gravity Falls, trying to bring his twin home for the next 30 years. This song just makes me think of how unfair it is that every little mistake ended up costing Stanley more than it would have cost anyone else who had made the exact same mistakes. It's like the odds were stacked against him from the start. 😢
