Yea, I was part of the community and request that it made its pen touch like wacom with very light sensitive stroke. Unfortunately, they couldn't and it will require a bit of pressure to active soft touch for their device. Only Wacom + Apple Pencil/Ipadpro are the only one with this soft touch feature. Years ago, I had an Asus ep121 and it was just like the Wacom and Ipad pro.

That device would be great for school use!

I'd really like to see a full review on this. I've been looking at a Surface Pro for a while now, but have always been disappointed by the feature set vs the cost.

But can it run Crysis ?

People don't seem to realize it, but this was the point of Surface. It is meant to make OEMs step-up to the plate and either meet or beat the offerings from Microsoft. This is my dream machine and I'll be ordering it as soon as it becomes available for purchase again.

So got the invite for the next pre-order on Dec 14th. Estimate delivery is March 18 - April - 18. Kind of caught me off guard with that because the website didn't have anything specific as to why that kind of time frame. This is the 2nd batch of the same exact product if you go by the order configuration on their website. Supply and manufacturing should be in place if 1 batch was competed. Surely someone should have had another order wave ready to go if the response was positive enough. My point is the 1st Gen is essentially already a year old when March/April rolls around. I'd understand if the website said, 2018 components can be substituted by a certain deadline if available at same or increased cost. oh well, I wasn't in the know on the 1st batch, jumped on to be informed about the next batch after watching all the reviews. But was taken back by the in my opinion too long of wait time for the next order so I passed. Order Dec 14th. 2 weeks to sort that out and get things rolling on Jan 1st. Figure 30 days to manufacture and ship out early February, receive by mid February and that would sound more reasonable to many people. I'm sure it's built alongside other tablet/pc's in the same assembly line. You can order a BMW or a Subaru and get it in 4-6 weeks. Maybe if Eve V gets a committed supplier chain signed on board without having to cave to manufacturer demands this will be a great mainstream product that carves a niche against the big players. Otherwise there's plenty of other available now good choices to go with

Actually, it's going up to a Core m7, not a Core i7. I don't know about the rest of you, buts that's a partial point of concern for me.

Art student here. I was looking for a all in one device that could help me with photo editing and my design oriented needs. I also love that i comes with 8gb ram base model AND 2 usb ports! If those guys can manage to get a europe warehouse/retailer I'll get one for sure!

The "Cube Mix Plus" is a 350$ 2-in-1 tablet that has Intel M3, Intel Graphics 615, 4 GB ram, 128 GB SSD and full-HD display. Not the same build quality, but with similar components for a cheap price.

Something he didn't mention was that the keyboard can be used without it being connected to the device; like a wireless keyboard. The keyboard can also be connected to 3 other devices.

I've always been a Surface Pro fan. I owned the SP1 and currently use an SP4, but with the extra ports in this one this seems much better than the new Surface Pro.

what advantages do these type of devices have over regular laptops?

I guess one big issue not addressed is how the hinge is designed. I still use my Surface Pro 3 after 4 years and that hinge has been through hell and back and its ability to hold any position is still A1. I hope it's just as durable.

i just want to say if you forget all the comparisons with mac and the surface pro this is a great device because their not doing what they think is good ( apple removing a headphone jack) they do what their customers want and someone will pay for something they actually want instead of paying for something they think is cool and trendy ( iphone 7,macs in genral , latest surface pro)

I'd imagine part of the reason they're so price competitive is that they're probably taking a smaller profit margin as well. Though being informed as to the right tradeoffs to make is no doubt a great boon as well.

Remove the rear camera completely. No one really uses their tablet to take photos. Webcam, sure, its handy for skype and such, but the rear, well, shove it up the rear...

for 1500$ a tablet with windows 10 i7 processor 16Gb ram 512 Gb SSD. i would definately buy it. ofcourse after linus reviews the 1500 version. i think its perfect for a outdoor person like me. waiting for your reivew linus.

The new cameras are so good, a small speck on the lens takes all my attention from the video content.

I like this device, really do between price and performance seems good, but honestly, I'll stick to the new surface pro or sp4, that devices screen to body ratio and the pen which is less sensitive than the new surface pro, is a skip for me, but I'm DEFINITELY waiting to see the next iteration, fix those two problems and keep prices competitive, sure, it's a buy for me

This is actually looking very very promising. Connectivity check, aesthetics check, ergonomics check, performance wise... well, I don't have a high expectation on portable device so check. I might actually grab one of those when I go to college :D

Every time a device is called a "....killer" it ends up just being a cheaper version with many flaws. This will not be a Surface Pro killer. That's what was said about the HP Spectre x2 (which is actually a really good device) and the Asus Transformer Pro 3. Neither ended up "killing" the Surface Pro. The EVE V is obviously a blatant copy except that it looks exactly like it was crowd funded. Nowhere near a nice looking and sleek as a Surface Pro. It's cheaper but not cheap enough that I would pick it up over a Surface Pro. I mean good luck with tech support on that thing. At least with a Microsoft device you go right into a Microsoft Store and have them deal with it. I guess their definition of creating a device based off of community feedback was just to copy the Surface Pro. Not hard to do that.

Another option to consider. I was looking at buying a Surface with some of my financial aid next semester, because I need something with a bigger screen my OG surface pro 1.

Most definitely a very interesting device Linus, just looking at the ports, and seeing the general usage in the video definitely makes it worth looking into further. The velvety fabric around the touchpad looks like it will look like an old armchair within 3 months use though

pretty good for that price... though I disliked the position of '\' key with Enter key side by side... I still prefer that key positioned above the Enter key. Overall, I'm glad to see Surface Pro now has 1 more competitor (other than ASUS' and Huawei's one)...

Still happy I got my Samsung Galaxy Book. I wish it has thunderbolt 3 and backlit keyboard, but it's still a great device for the money.

My Acer Switch Alpha 12 has an i7 with 8gb ram, 256 ssd and is thinner than this guy (and the surface), is fanless, and it's been available for a while, and it was 850$, with the keyboard and pen included. That's your real oneplus of surface clones, and you don't have to wait for it. I don't get why it doesn't get mentioned more. Awesome machine, I'm very happy with it.

There should be nothing really wrong with creating an idea that truly supports the community. And trust me, I believe there are plenty of stupid opinions out there but you fan through all of them gathering all the great ideas and creating a product that is actually useful. And technology is only going one direction so there will be future chances to create better products. Honestly, if I owned any type of tech company, this would be my number 1 motto and goal.

Okay, this one is tempting it checks all the boxes for a portable windows tablet to use in university for me (usb-c CHARGING is a MUST), i might upgrade to it from my cube i7 ("core-m" chinese "copy" of the surface), but i don't know if it justifies spending almost 300$ more

I need it, for the RGB lighting keyboard (thought no one ever, right?). Jokes aside, this is amazing. The hardware, the ports, the price - very good package. I'd buy one if I did not already have the SP4 (which luckily I got for a very similar price). In my future I'll have a device like this with a dock and an external GPU/big monitor at home and no more desktop.

I love how the V key is an upside-down delta.

I see a couple of issues with this device. 1.) it looks a little too much like a surface pro. Remember Apple actually won a court case over a rounder rectangle with a circle at the bottom. 2.) They may be listing it for cheep, but if it's as good as you think it's not going to stay cheep, or they are going to have production problems down the road. Here's to hoping I'm wrong on both accounts.
