**UPDATE** Just added a short video to supplement a couple things that I forgot in this video: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-S0kWIQAhvS0.html

love the way you explain each function of the nodes controls in the inspector. I have tried going through the reference manual from the help menu. 3 days in, still on the 3d nodes. My problem is I replicate the node set up in the node workspace and then it doesn't show, in the viewer anything for the media out result after the 3D renderer. Watched your VDB tutorial, excellent by the way, and you have to have scene selected. But it doesn't mention that in the manual until you get to the that particular nodes reference. Aaaarrrggh! They should have you contributing at ResolveCon 2024
Thanks for the reply. Found the issue the viewer was set to 0%. That is why it was just showing black. Not trying to render anything out just wanting it to show in the viewer.
Hello. Thanks you for your video, very usefull!! But I dont understand why when I go in fusion (davinci studio 18.1.2) on my MacBook Air M1, and when I use Trackersurface node, I can make my points to make my tracking zone but when then, I click on « mesh »…nothing happens! When I use this node in the « color page », no problem…can you help me to understand? Thank’s a lot!🙏🏻
Hi Brian. I have to ask. is it possible to do a t-shirt replacement? Remove a logo and put a new one (Like Mocha). In their tutorial they use paint and also Photoshop fillaware. Now. In the case you tell me that its doable something similar. is it possible to do something if there are changes of light and shadows on the t-shirt? I have no idea, would one have to create a fake shadow and animate it with keyframes to simulate the real light?
Yes. I don't think there is a one size fits all approach though. If you are just adding a logo, nothing was there before, should be straight forward. If you need to replace a logo you will need to make a clean plate which will take a little more time if the light is changing. Couple of ways to approach that could be animated blend between still frames or animated color correct. You could also, like you said, do a fake shadow animated on top too. I was recently on a project that those 2d methods didn't work and had to do a cloth simulation to replace the area for the clean plate. So it will depend on how complicated the light changes are. But overall yes.
Love this explanation. I am trying to do the exact same thing. I am putting the same clip on multiple videos, surface tracked to walls, ground etc. The clip is of a person moving. And they pop up on surfaces throughout my project. What I cannot work out is how to choose the frame number of the clip I am putting into the surface tracker? SO that each time the person is at the sequential point in the clip?
You can use the MediaIn node and using either the global in/out or the Trim functions, inside the inspector for the node, to offset the clip going in to the surface tracker. Is that what you are trying to do?
Thank you! It was really helpful! One question, what to do if something goes through the frame and interrupts the surface tracker? How to mask out the interruption? 🤔😇
I believe you can keyframe after the occlusion and continue tracking. If not you might have to split it into 2 shots. When the shots get more complicated I tend to use Mocha.
Thanks as always for going in depth on the use of the tools. You make it understandable. I left you a question because I don't know whether or not it is possible to perform certain effects. Best regards
Wonderful tutorial. I suspect this will get a lot more views if the title of your clip suggests that you are doing the "Harry Potter" newspaper effect.
@@prophetless lockdown is extremely cool and powerful - especially for roto work. He implemented a UV unwrap feature you can freely stretch however you want. its really amazing. Thanks for the upload man! love your stuff. your offset tracking vids from last year saved my neck! have a great weekend
@Prophetless @unkn_own Any tips on where to find this Surface Tracker in the latest DR (18.1.2 Build 6)? I'm new to DR and haven't been able to find it anywhere but in Color. Thanks!
This is amazing. For her finger - if you wanted to mask it out over the tracker - would you just throw a polygon mask over the original surface tracker and roto out her finer using keyframes?
@@prophetless That would be great. It's REALLY nice that you tackle issues straight-on in your tutorials. More often than not we are shooting scenes where hands and objects move in front of what is being tracked - so if you could do a tutorial (kind of like your green screen phone planar tracker tutorial) showing a strong/simple workflow for masking out objects over tracks, that would be awesome. Bonus points for working on a shot is moving and rotating in 3d space, like a gimbal shot or something. Thank you!
@@PaulSprangersCityLimits I just put a quick video up for the parts I missed. I'm working on a bunch more videos. I'll try to do something like that soon. Thanks.
