Thanks for this! I’m 48 and started surf skating to improve my surfing speed generation and back hand carving turn. The idea of going to a skate park for the first time intimidates me!
You are an amazing teacher , really good grasp of the physics of what is going on and the best way to explain it. you have a true talent for this dude. Thanks for the great info. I used to skate a lot when younger and surf even more. I haven’t been doing much of either in recent years but getting right back into both now at the age of 54. Loving it. Loving the surf skate. Cheers
Lai's deep analysis on muscle and mechanics is mesmerising! like we have been all doing these but we never be able to explain these elements in plain words. Cheers Lai for the in depth analysis
Such a great tutorial, I’ve watched a couple times and definitely been finding your pointers very effective and easy to keep in mind as I learn the basics.
You make it look and sound very easy. I am inspired to get a skateboard, but might need Stacy to teach me the easy ones before trying out these :D. Another wonderful video!
Awesome ! please more ! About "the commit" I knew, but I anyway hurt myself pretty hard... my poor knee.. now I'm kind of scared. please drop in video ! I have the feeling that with a surfskate its harder due to the higher distance. im a skateboard newbie and i started with surfskate! I love it !!! Thanks for this great videos !
I also want to ask for drop in tutorial on quater pipe. Is it harder and more dangerous with surfskate than with regular skateboard due to wigling front trucks? I managed to do it on mild flat ramp with my carver c7, it was so easy, now I aim to do the real drop in, on 1/4pipe, pls Shane, waiting for your instructions.
I will do a tutorial when i nail it. At the moment i can't drop in the half pipe of my local skatepark. Too high. I did it a few times in lower pipes, but you are right, the loose front truck reduces the margin for error in terms of lateral bodyweight positioning
Thank you man, your vids are golden. Suggestion on a missed point! :) please talk more about that pivot (quick turn, for example on a narrow ramp, or even flat floor). Is not that easy for a beginner to learn that!
@@shanelai2515 now I know what not to do... I actually got a phone call an hour later saying that the board had arrived at the shop. I did find that the board has been cut a little wonky though. Did you find it was an even cut or not?
I don’t want be too repetitive but your videos are awesome... suggestions, if I may.. make videos about your different skates. And the tuning you do... let’s say for a skate park vs driveway / short spaces. Waterborne vs Carver vs Smoothstar... cheers
Hey buddy Thanks for all the tutorial videos It's very helpful to learn from your videos. I'm only on my first week of surfskating. One thing though I when at speed my front seems to be really sensitive and I feel really unconfortable as if a little wrong movement will make it out of control. Would you suggest and tips or tricks?
You cant imagine how much this helped me!! I improved a lot in the bowl, i feel the speed!! But my legs are dead, im not that fit! hahahaha. I have a surfskate brand "Slide", have you tryed this ones??
Really great video dude! I drop off small to medium ramps with my carver just fine. It is dropping into a bowl or a quarter/half pipe that is scary and intimidating! Will the same tips apply or is it a different approach?
@Shane many thanks for your expert video- I have never seen such detail but in the best surf instructional videos- are you a Doctor or Physiotherapist by day?
Salut (^^,) tu devrais vraiment faire aussi des vidéos en français , la communauté grandi et on aurais bien besoin de contenu comme tu le fais. Tes vidéos sont juste trop bien, bonne continuation (^^,)
