On the end of a dead in street in a very prominent neighborhood sits an abandoned mansion.
A colonial style home built in the 1930s for the former mayor of the town and his wife. Not only was he the mayor but also an orthopedic surgeon. In the year 1999 he passed away and his wife had left the home abandoned to be closer to her children.
The entire property is estimated to be worth around $3.2 million dollars but unfortunately the home will need to be demolished. Let’s see what left behind.

Usually when people just walk away from their home and all their possessions it’s because of bad memories and sorrows. Sad.

No saving the house or total salvage job here. The place from the ground floor up needs to be completely and carefully stripped down to the frame, to save what can be saved as far as all that wood, tile, and glass. Separate sorting and recycle, trash cleanup, and demolition crews are needed.

That is a really cool video with lots of furniture worth saving but sadly no actual antiques. Please don't be offended. I'm not trying to be a jerk. I'm just older (58) and grew-up in Europe. The old style furniture actually was/is made Italy as "reproduction" mostly during the 1980's - 1990's but you can still find lots online. They produce fake Victorian furniture too. The chests, canopy bed and other things would definitely be cool to own but sadly are not antiques. Just 20 to 40 year old, poor copies. If you go back and look at the carving details and woodwork then go to a video from an abandoned mansion in France you can see the difference in quality. That being said, I REALLY enjoyed the video and am so jealous of you and others that get to see these sights. Keep up the excellent work. Erich

Obviously these people were very wealthy which is indicative of the beautiful and expensive furniture that once adorned this lovely home and was left behind . ( one example that I saw was the Venetian mirror on the floor at the entrance of the home . That mirror is priceless !!! ) The woman abandoned her home and her belongings for whatever reasons she had but what I don’t understand is why the children who inherited this estate would completely turn their back on this home . Why would they not have an estate sale ? Or donate all the furniture to be auctioned off ? What an absolute shame .. shame on them , seeing all these beautiful vintage priceless things just thrown away is not only sad it’s absolutely appalling .

She probably could not stand to be there by herself, and pipes froze and burst, I could see that happening. Black mold took it over it is probably too much to save it now. I expect that was 22 years ago and the lady has also passed, if children I doubt they want to deal with it. Black Mold is dangerous and hard to get rid of in a big house like this.

Please consider some sort of masking for future exploration. Never understand why so much is just left behind. Hire someone to liquidate the possessions and sell the real-estate. Letting it rot is really puzzling. The proceeds could be used to pay for the services to dissolve the estate. The waste of it all is very hard to understand

I totally agree. I seen so many antiques n there. Even the old kerosene lamps sitting on the dining table. Didn't have a globe but can find one easy I'm sure & the old Atari if it was n the box. 🤷‍♀️

Why do people let the home of many memories just deteriorate. Many it hurts too much to give 💔 away But better used not just left to rot or be vandalized. So sad. We sold our 6 bedroom bome to a young couple who wanted a large family. I pray they succeed.

You’d think the heirs would want to preserve it to sell. Maybe it held bad memories. That’s marble on that chest in the dining room, it was a 60s thing.

It must have been so beautiful and elegant, in its heyday. I can understand the wife leaving, but not the fact that the house, and its belongings were not put up for sale. What a shame, since you said it is going to be torn down, and time and nature, and who knows? have done their thing. thank you, so much 👏

That furniture needs to be taken out of there! It's worth a fortune itself! It can't be admired or enjoyed here. So sad :(

The reason everything was left behind might have something to do with the black mold on the ceilings. You should really have on a mask while walking through these places. Some mold can be quite bad.

Maybe the mold came over time. The house been sitting since 1999 with no electricity or anything. We just wonder why the wife up. We will never know the reason. 😔

I wish houses could talk. I always think houses retain the emotions of the families...happy, sad, and anger. Beautiful home with amazing furnishings left to rot. Sad. The decor especially the pinks & blues is definitely late 90s.

The house flooded from the hot water heater in the attic or on the 2nd floor. That’s why they started gutting the Sheetrock 4ft and up. They moved most of the furniture into the playboy magazine room where the workers had removed the carpet already. This is the reason why the floors aren’t safe to walk on. The basement looks like it does cause of the water all traveled down. She was trying to get it restored. She got paid for everything in there from the insurance company cause it’s a loss. So she can take that money and do whatever with it This is my theory

What a shame! The wife probably couldn't deal with everything and just moved from heartbreak! This home should have been sold, as someone could have kept this home up to good condition!

I don’t understand why people want to destroy stuff and spray paint bad words. Great explore. My favorite part was the basement with the beds and cool stuff.

Hey, you should consider buying a brighter light! It is really really hard to see anything other than what you are focusing on. Even that girl with you had a much brighter light. It makes it hard to enjoy cause we really can’t see it that well. Nice find though.
