Suzanne is definitely a prodigy, you are lucky to have her. This is a brilliant and out of the box idea And she picked such a great destination, I loved Puerto Rico when I visited in 2009. Old San Juan is certainly a beautiful area of the city. But the El Yunque forest is even better
I did this for my wife for her Fiftieth birthday. I got her through check-in, security and passport control by having her stand back while I explained what was going on. It wasn't until we arrived at the gate that she was going to Naples, Italy. She loves pizza so I took her to the restaurant where pizza was invented. Superb!
@@JTV13 I’d check that again. It was Raffaele Esposito in Naples (not the one in Florida) in the 1880s. Ike Sewel of San Antonio, Texas came up with the Deep Pan variety in the 1920s and Chicago claimed it later.
I did this for my wife in 2015 with an anniversary trip, similar situation. She went in blind, knowing only the leg from our home in Louisville to Atlanta. Our surprise destination was Denver for some museums, vegan food, and geocaching in Colorado Springs! We loved it! Love your videos as always, Jeb!
It is so nice to let the world know that we guys do this too for our wives. I did this for out wedding anniversary. We went from New York to the Dominican Republic. She only knew the destination when we arrived to check in
I grew up in Atlanta, and started working/traveling by myself regularly to NYC at 16 years old. I went to Elon University for about a year, and was still needing to "commute" to New York or Atlanta a lot. I remember being SO freaked out by how quiet Greensboro airport was/is. It still creeps me out a little! Haha.
I would totally love this to be a series. Suzanne should plan couple day trips for you. Not only is it exciting for you, but to me, the mystery was also exciting. LOVED this video!
Yes on the Suzanne question! I am an av-geek like you and a Delta Reservations supervisor. My wife (also named Suzanne) travel non rev. We often have adventures like your PR trip in that neither of us know where we end up! Every trip is an adventure. Great video!
We definitely need Suzanne in more videos! She's awesome!! Also, she's your fiancée (thanks @oscassey), not fiancé. I just had to learn this as well :D
That’s so cool! As a Puerto Rican is super exciting to see someone get so excited to visit the island and enjoy the beauties of it. Got me chills your reaction!
Jeb…. I have been watching you for a long time now and I love your videos. At the 1:28 mark, I noticed that you had a Land Cruiser. I would like to congratulate you for being smart and getting the best SUV for that price range.
My wife and have made this our tradition for several years. We've even got her family involved in it too. We each take turns on planning the trips. Last time I surprised her with a trip to Yellowstone and then over to the Black Hills area.
Now you know what it’s like to pack and travel like a flight attendant or pilot on reserve! It would be fun to see Suzanne more often. Cool video Jeb. And by the way, a wrap is as much of a sandwich as a hot dog is 🤣
Lol, and I can tell you that if you need a passport then my only hint is flying out of the US into an x country. Other than that, I won't spoil the surprise to anyone. You'll just have to watch till the end to find out
Behind every good man is a better woman. I say 👍👍 for more Suzanne. When you travel alone it’s not as fun. The one thing that has always set you apart from other travel/air craft enthusiasts is you make it fun and not just informative. That’s my vote
What a fun adventure! I would love someone to do this with me! When I non-rev (my Son is a Pilot for Delta) it is sometimes like not knowing exactly where you’re going. One time I was in Minneapolis and needed to make it back to SLC for work by the next morning. My Son worked his magic. He said “I can get you to SLC by midnight BUT you have to go through JFK.” Looking at a map, you know it’s the complete opposite direction from SLC but I made it home by midnight and in First Class✈️😊✈️
I did this to my wife one time, many years ago. It was back in the NW/CO codeshare days. We flew HOME-MSP-CLE-???. She didn't find out what our final destination was until we were in CLE. It was fun! Oh, our final destination was PVD. We spent a wonderful long weekend there in October, enjoying the spectacular colors!
There used to be an airline that sold mystery weekends. The only thing they told you was to pack for warm or cool weather. You didn't find out where you were going until you got to the airport.
Jeb, well... Glad Suzanne got you to come to "my neck of the woods" (live in the Metro Area). At least you've enjoyed this "island hopping" experience together. Oh, and the City of San Juan was founded EXACTLY 500 YEARS AGO, in 1521. What Juan Ponce de León* founded in 1508 was Caparra, the first European settlement in the Island, like 3-4 mi SW of the Island of San Juan Bautista (where the cruise ships arrive / leave). The Spanish escaped from the mangroves and its' diseases there and went to "the Rock" at the north of the Bay. The ruins of the original "Casa del Rey" (the King's House) stand on PR-2 in the Villa Caparra sector of Guaynabo city. More tidbits as the series goes along... * after that he went to die near JAX in FL trying to find "The Fountain of Youth"; problem was it was here in Puerto Rico: "Los Baños de Coamo" natural mineral waters at Coamo, a ~ 90 minute car trip due SW from the SJU airport on the PR-52 Luis Ferré Expressway.
Susanne is obviously a very special lady! I've never been to Puerto Rico either so I'm looking forward to your videos from this trip. So good to see you in the sky again.
Great video. And lol at "Jeb shirts"and your wife is cool! I tagged along with my parents for a few trips to San Juan back in the day.My dad was Captain on the Stretch DC8 for Delta. There was a flight he flew from here(New Orleans)to San Juan. But the runways weren't long enough at MSY so they would stop in Birmingham,Alabama to add fuel before landing in San Juan. We also would take the flight to San Juan, then take Prim Air to St. Croix and St.Thomas. My dad eventually flew 1011s and had to commute to Atlanta or Cincinnati to fly international routes before he retired in 1991. Your video brings back some great memories. Thanks for all of the hard work you and your wife put in to these videos.
Jeb, you should do another one of these, but with a twist. You can't know where you're going UNTIL you get to the destination. No revealing at the gate or on the plane, only until you get there. That would be such a fun video. It'll be a challenge but fun nonetheless!
Suzanne is great. What I enjoy is flying the emptiest plane of the day no matter where it’s going. I just love flying. I get you Jeb! Love the content.
What I want to surprise flight trip? Yes, of course! A surprise trip to get me out of the trouble I I’m always in. And that is the workload. I’m always in. No matter where I go as long as I’m flying a plane I’m happy.
Great trip Jeb seems like great fun! Nice to see a new place on the channel. I can’t wait to try Puerto Rico 🇵🇷 some day! 😎🤘🥂 Safe Travels! 😷 Also Suzanne should definitely be in more of your trip videos! 😎
I’m catching up on your videos. Really enjoying your trips & tips. Definitely like seeing Susanne. She makes the videos enjoyable. You both are a great couple. Congratulations and continue your travels together!!
To answer your question before I even finish the video, yes Suzanne should be in more of your videos! You are more complete with her, and visa-versa I am sure. Definitely include her more often. Meanwhile, back to your flight to San Juan. O.K. Finished, but just beginning to watch your next series of videos on this trip. Yep, I'm convinced, put Suzanne in more of your videos. You are also so great at narrating. Thanks!
I suggest next time she books you internationally on multiple airlines, but not too far away. Such as one flight to another US airport and then onto an airline from another country. No code share, just buying tickets manually. I suggest West Jet or Volaris!
I plan trips all the time and I have a huge surprise for my wife. It is our 10th anniversary and my 50th birthday so I'm planning a big surprise for wife. Not telling her where just gonna tell her to pack for the tropics. Due to covid might have to wait until 2022 but already have it all set. I am superb at making itineraries.
For me, a wrap is a wrap. It serves the same function as a sandwich, but given the difference in the bread, I would definitely categorise it as something apart from a sandwich. Thank you for the video!
Suzanne is great. And I'd definitely let a spouse/SO plan a trip for me, I'd appreciate they cared for me enough to want to plan that type of trip to share with me.
This is wonderful, l did this for my wife on one of our wedding anniversaries. Told her to pack for a warm destination and that was all. We went to Puerta Plata , DR She knew where we were going until we went to check-in
Just saw this, I did this to my wife a few years ago, but we only had one hop - SLC to CNY on a Boutique Air Pilatus PC-12... Could have driven, but that was fun.
Of course I would love a surprise trip! Because I’m always under a heavy workload and I would always love some time to just break loose and enjoy some time off. Also, the train at the Atlanta airport gives me great memories. For the past two years, I connected flights to my Christian music camp at Atlanta. I would fly either United or Delta. But this year I am flying to Dallas Lovefield to make my connection instead of Atlanta. I’m flying Southwest this year. I guess bye-bye Atlanta. I will miss you Atlanta.
Yes, definitely more Suzanne! She's pare t of the team now, so it'd be nice to get to know her better. :) You defintely found your equal in this travel game. Either that, or she learned from you VERY quickly. :)
Nice thing. Did never experience something like that. However, it would be great seeing some videos where you are getting the opportunity again of visiting derelict 80s or 90s style airport lounges. I also love your train journeys. That ranked my latter of to dos up quiet a lot.
Cool vlog this sounds like the start of interesting stuff so plz more Suzanne organising your trips although I thought that with delta/klm it might have been Suriname but great vlog and more Suzie plz
I wish I could travel.. I’ve been trapped in Japan for two years now, first due to injury then due to COVID.. These sorts of videos are the only way I can travel for the foreseeable future.
Yes. You are lucky to have her. Last time my beloved one did this for me, she sent me to madagascar... alone... I'm starting to think she's trying to tell me something... 🤔
I actually clapped when you discovered you were going to Puerto Rico. My husband is Boriqua. Enjoy your stay!! Next time, I suggest flying to BQN. I admittedly have a strong preference for the western side of the Island. Check out Rincon, Mayaguez and el Faro at the southwestern tip of the Island. One of my favorite places to go.
Good to see you traveling again Jeb. Which I know you have been. Maybe I’ve just missed some of your videos. I want to surprise my wife at some point. I don’t know if she would feel comfortable or not. I’d have to glue her somewhat. Good for Suzanne 😊👍🏻✈️🛫🛬
