One last ride!! For his 99th birthday, a WW II veteran get his wish, to drive the '55 Ford he bought new in 1955 and that has been parked and not running for 47 years - restored by his baby boomer kids.
Jerry Heasley aww that’s amazing My great grandma turned 99 in March and survived in hospital after a fall when the cases peaked here in England 48 years old when my dad was born and he’s 51 now
His dad kept saying YEAH BOY , you can look at his face and see all the memories running through his head behind that beauty. He was truly loving that moment.
Every time he said “yeah boy” I got a little sad because my grandpa says that all time and it reminds me that he’s getting old and won’t be around much longer.
My grandpa, great grandma, and auntie all died within the three months span this year and it made me realize I need to spend more time with my family as a whole I've been trying this whole year to get my family back together sometimes it seems like I'm the only one who cares but I don't want to see my family regretting their decision to stay distant from each other love who you with. Excuse my lack of punctuation
Instead of watching RU-vid please go spend as much time with them as possible. I can't tell you how bad I regret spending so much time on my computer instead of sharing laughs and stories with my grandparents who are now deceased. Best wishes.
Hey, you tried. Lost my mom recently and I had a million plans for her, so you're not alone. I'm glad your dad had someone who cared enough to even think of doing something like that for him.
Crazier is to think what this guy has seen in his life. He saw the Model T’s production cycle, the Great Depression, the rise of Nazi Germany, the Cold War, the Space Race, and now the advent of technology: drones, self-driving cars, AI becoming mainstream, and now a new push to go to Mars.
It’s nice to spend time with my grandfather, he’s all I have left and he’s turning 80 next year. But spending time going out for lunches and dinner, watching movies, and teaching me household repairs is some of the best time I’ve had.
What you gave him at the age of 99, the chance to drive his 1955 Ford was priceless. To think he kept the car all of those years is quite something. It was touching to see him driving it after all of those years. Thanks you so much for posting the video, it made my day.
What a wonderful thing to do for your dad, he's fantastic, to still have his faculties at 99 years old is truly a gift. I think he is 2 years older than my dad would have been, unfortunately he passed away in 2011 aged 88. He was also a WW2 Veteran, In his case a paratrooper in the British Army. You must be as proud of your dad as I was of mine. Just like the car, they don't make them like that anymore. It was truly emotional to see him drive his beloved car again. It is wonderful that you were able to grant his wish. He is a very lucky man to have such a loving family.
The guy spit bars in the beginning of the video like “Dad bought it brand new” “It’d been parked since 72” “But how hard would it be to have it run” “ So your dad could drive it again and have some fun” “ Remember he really wanted a 55 Ford crown Vick “ “ A two door that’d be really quick” “ but he had three kids and a fourth on the way” “ So a fairlane town Sudan is all he could say” “ You heard the story how he hit 115” “ Running down that flat west Texas road on high octine gasoline” “ A supertuned 2 72 two barrel with a stock ford cam” “And he actually outran a 55 dodge red ram” He needs to drop a album that was just 🔥
Boop boop,.... That was better than Eminem's, 62, delta, here you are rabbit. Probably wont even get. Me to the shelter...!!.. Fuk the shelter... Go get that guy,... And put granddad in the video getting some on the front seat... From the pointer sisters,... Big and black.,he'll probably, ..say fuk making triple figures , 99 and two fat ladies 88 is my number get me buried son.. In the 72. !!
To put your daddy behind the wheel of his '55 Ford was just PRICELESS and to see him driving just energized him. His eyes were as wide as a bug as he had the time of his life driving his old friend. Bless your hearts to all you good folks who cleaned up daddy's old 55 Ford. He was just like a young man again. Awesome! He's worth it. He's earned it. Why he's 99!
When your parents have been alive for so long, that you’re already the old man too, yet you still finds ways to surprise and do the best for your folks!
Sir I'm a filipino and i wanna thank you your father for defending our country philippines during WW2...May GOD bless him. I wish him a good health and long life ...
this is so sweet. just the fact that a car can be embedded into somebody's heart and memory brings me joy and tears as a gearhead myself. props to pops for living a century and still sharp as a knife👍
Because when people their age were young, may of them were sent to war. That generation is old now, so most of the older men have been in the military.
Tyler Barrett That’s because the government sent them into a war that we had no business being in and the genera public was also against the war. When they came back from war they were ridiculed and looked down upon. Even WW2 vets were against them because they were seen as the great generation because they came home victorious. The experiences they had also still haunt many of them and they never received the care they needed. That’s why so many Vietnam Vets ultimately commit suicide.
This car is priceless. I'm glad the family was able to get together while walt was still around to see everyone. Many times people only get together when it's too late. Truly the greatest generation.
One of the most positive, heartwarming videos I've ever seen on RU-vid, truly wonderful. Better days for sure! God bless you all. Thanks for sharing this fantastic day.
My cousin and I did something similar with my grandpa's '57 Chevy Bel Air. Sadly my grandpa passed a month or so before we finished it, but he knew we were fixing it up for him. Now every year we take it for a drive to go visit his grave so he can see it running again. Every time I take it for a spin I can swear I feel his presence in the car with me. That car was a major milestone for him in his life. First car he bought with his own money and it was the car he took my grandma on their first date in. Now that it's up and running we plan to keep it that way. It's what he would have wanted.
That was Beautiful. The son said it all, when he said "that's what Life's all about". Beautiful family, beautiful people, may God bless them all. And Pop is amazing, may God Bless him, more.
Brought tears to my eyes, I lost my father 5 years ago, I’m a lot younger then you guys. But to see the look on both of your faces, the effort and love you put toward these videos and your family is truly inspirational ❤️
I am so glad to see a family that is something everyone should be. Greatfull for a father that sacrificed a lot to make sure his children has what they needed to survive. God bless all of you,you have made my day🙏
Josh Guevara yea that was a joke cuz the other dude was like: “ despite being american he did a nice thing for his father” , sorry if that joke hurt u in any way :)
Bless him and bless yall for doing that. This video is the definition of what family is supposed to be. In this day and age families are so separated its good to see this still exists.....
I'm a Black guy who grew up on the mean streets of Compton CA in the early 1970s at a time when you had to be tough or at least have a rough edge about yourself just to survive. Seeing videos like this one is priceless, especially since many fathers simply weren't around for their children at that time or had passed away at an early age. It's a true blessing for this family to still have their 99-year-old Dad around with his mental facilities still intact so he can appreciate the moment. It's funny how at my age now it's the simple loving moments given to or by your family that's feels the most important. To the 300 plus individuals who gave this video a thumbs down, if this type on video doesn't warm your heart nothing will!!!!
Thank you , Wonderful. Hard to imagine a Veteran of 99 yrs driving. Wonderful family. Sincerely, hope Walt lives many more years. Thanks from another Vet of 36 years in the Canadian Armed Forces.
As a mechanic for the last 41 yrs not many car videos spark my interest, this one damn sure did though ! Loved seeing him enjoying this car !!! I'm also grateful for his service to our Country ! Thank you for sharing this !
What a great family you are! God Bless your dad! I thank him for his service and sacrifice, because of him and his service we won the war and are still free. God bless you all!
God bless you Sir , and thank you for your service to your country . My dad was in the US Navy, he served in the Submarine Service during WW2 . Happy birthday to you and hope you celebrate many more. That's a real sharp Ford Fairlane you got there .I've enjoyed this video very much and I know your son & daughter are going to take real good care of it in the coming years. By for now & take care, God bless you all.

While living in Flagstaff,AZ, I made a lot of friends, @@frankgiaquinto1571, And in doing so, I met their families in many cases. It was amazing how many families aren't dysfunctional. My friends are largely stable individuals, worthy of knowing. My good fortune, indeed!
LOVE. You can NOT put a price tag on this.THIS IS PURE HEART LOVE. THIS IS A GIFT FROM GOD. I GELT LIKE I WAS WITH YOU ALL CELEBRATING. AND RIDING IN THE CAR WITH DAD. HE IS A GOOD FATHER. THE BEST KIND TO HAVE.
I feel like this was more for the family than for the public. Im very happy to see a beautiful car like this on the road again. Im greatful for you sharing this with us and im glad you were able to make this happen.
Edgar AGG 60% of someone’s life doesn’t mean 60 years. For example, if I was a 20 year old, 60% of my life would only be 12 years. If I was a 40 year old, 60% of my life would be 24 years.
