Looks great but think I'm going with Kenwood Excelon Reference DNR1007XR just because it has Navigation with Garmin and 3 year free update and free 5 years of Traffic updates and will work off road with no data connection. Liked the video.
Yes if you need GPS this is not the unit for you. I use android auto so it did not really matter to me, but the radio you referenced is a great unit as well
Why? That's useless to me. Use the phone as it has the apps of Google maps and waze already native. Why would anyone need GPS anymore in the year 2024. Everyones phone already has GPS maps.
@@TheYoungerSemiOldManI do food delivery full-time and android auto screws up my Doordash/Uber apps. I never used android auto on my last car but having a separate navigation on the Telsa was very handy.
Did you get the Kenwood 1007? Do you like it? I want a unit I can have 4 cameras with and watch youtube/netflix ect. I can't believe Kenwood hasn't updated their unit tobe faster. Not sure where to buy it and have it installed. I was looking at Cartoys but not sure if they are the best choice
STOP: You SIR, are owed a beer or teo by me. No BS. After hours and hoirs of videos, not even kenwood themselves on their own youtube page, or anyone else, explained ANYTHING like you didm bro, i was furious after paying for the same exact model, all the installation, taking my amps and subs from my other truck i sold into the newer truck. And all of a sudden, here comes the regular guy, with no billion followers, smashes the competition with a video thats actually informative. Then the samsung phone, youre a blessing man. All the other videos they are using galaxy 2s or galazy 4s. Like that garbage is outdate crap and the video were so crappy, it was beyong irritating. You won the day by simply saying SAMSUNG DEX!!!!! I was able to connect in 30sec. After hours of stupid kenwood apps that are garbage. I have a few questions for you. 1) how did you get the specs onnthe car, air, etc? Was this something your previous head unit already had? I dont think my truck has that. The only way i got all that was a previous programmer for Ford but doesnt work on Toyota trucks. How do i get the a/c amd all that? 2) The unit versus stock with aftermarket speakers. You are def right. I brought my factory JBLs to life. The tweeters, subs, mids, are all customizable with this. I seriously have a SOLID system now. Nothijg sloppy. Everything is stealth hidden, etc. I also added an amp for mids/trebles, then also another amp for the subs. The factory JBL 8" sub and amp are garbage. When i get rid of this truck, im taking all this crap with me.

My ac/heat controls were just available to be programed on the module. I think that each cars.options/features just vary. As to.sound quality yes this unit brings to life a So so sound system. @THEMANCAVE2023 questions for you as this is irritating as hell. With samsung dex, how do you make your make your icons larger? How so you change RU-vid as it's tiny when open and makes the ads giant that cover the entire page? Then a few tiny videos amd then huge ads? I saw it for the first time yesterday, like youre where the size is normal Then today, out of nowhere its back to normal with tiny RU-vid vida with giant ads
You could use smart view I suppose just always used dex. And no climate control was not available via the radio I had to use the cars controls. Loved that radio someone ran a red light while I had a green left turn arrow and totalled my camry, I bout a 2018 accord touring and the radio won't work with new car sucks
