Hi sir, love from India. If that's the Indian Tricolour flag on the wall behind you, can you please correct the orientation of the flag as there are some rules on how we use Tricolour. 🙏🏻
For 20 years I've had this issue - always just been told it's tight hamstrings and to do stretches that never helped. I tried this and noticed an improvement instantly. Thanks!!!
Bro. I’ve been paying these stretch people for my hamstrings and they always be pushing my toes back. They tell me how bad my hamstrings are and that i need to come back. I do this and now know they’ve been fleecing me by activating my sciatic nerve.
After experiencing pain for about a month, trying to stretch it away with no luck, I stumpled on this video yesterday. After doing this exercise for just under a day, my pain is already close to gone. Thank you so much!! Will be supporting in terms of buying a book 🙌
Same! I do the "pigeon pose" for 2 minutes on each leg every day and it is amazing how much of my back, lower back, and hip pain went away. It took me 50 years to realize how hydration and stretching can solve so many problems.
I have had chronic sciatica for half a decade. Never been able to touch my toes IN MY LIFE. 30 seconds after following this video and I had my palms on the tops of my feet I hope fortune and fame follow your family for generations. And whoever’s body was on that table, looking good brother
So cool! Thank you so much for all that you do & share with us. I just recently learned about this stretch while in physical therapy, thanks again & God bless
All nerves will attach towards and into your head. You can almost (literally?) think of it like this: your spine is the biggest bundle of cables, containing every nerve. As you go further towards your hands and feet, more cables terminate at an area they control/monitor, making the whole cable structure smaller. Your pinky toe's nerve goes all the way to the brain, just with different amounts of other nerves nearby.
Yeah everything is connected to everything. You can find some short term relief focusing on the "problem area" but I've noticed that I saw the most amount of progress after getting the whole body involved, nerves included.
*Insert pic from the bodies exhibit where they dissolved everything except the nervous system and it just looks like a bundle of red wires in the shape of a person*
Yep i can completely affirm it is all connected when i was bed ridden due to sciatic nerve pain of THE worst kind. I had to eat lying down virtually flat with only one pillow and my head to the side. If i tried to raise my head to more than that to eat it was excruciating pain.
I have the same problem!! His suggestion works great!!! I can touch my toes without bending knees!!! I always thought I had right hamstrings. Thanks for the advice
Insane vídeo, i am a physical educator and this is just awesome, how many sets and how much reps for the exercise and which frequency you used Doctor ? Thank you very much for the content
man you are the best movement/physio channel on youtube. i don't have this issue but you are just outstanding at explaining issues, causes and treatments.
this moved saved my life fr, I got a lesion while running and my sciatica got f up, but I discovered this video and just practicing this I fully recovered and my strength and flexibility is at it's best 💪
Yay Jonathan Bennion, you're famous. He was my anatomy teacher and he is brilliant. Kudos to Institute of Anatomy. Check out their awesome cadaver programs.
I used to be very flexible when I was younger, not anymore due to being out of shape and always sitting in chair for my job. I got extremely tight hamstrings that struggled to go away with leg stretches until this video. I found out it was exactly what I'm experiencing and it helped. My wife on the other hand did the test and felt no pain and she doesn't have tight hamstrings. Amazing
I went to PT for years with hamstring issues and they told me to keep doing their stretches. Tried this and touched my toes for the first time ever. Shout out to you man.
I was just think ing about nerve flossing the sciatic nerve with a patient. Thanks for posting a video on the Technique that I can share when they’re not with me. ❤
Holy shit this literally works. I’ve been working on my ham strings for years and nothing. I do this and it’s like a new me in my lower extremities. 😂😂❤❤❤.
After this exercise I feel relief like Bob Parr from The Incredibles when He fought Omnidroid, and the robot suddenly cracked His back to the right place. Thank you for Your work Dr. Aaron Horschig 🙏🏼💯
Nerves basically can't be stretched, they don't shorten or get tight. If it would be so, the sciatic nerve would have nothing to do with head position.
This is exactly what has been my issue for as long as I can remember. Used to swim competitively and always hd the issue of "tight hamstrings" even with tons of stretching but after trying this hopefully I can get some more mobility
THIS HAS BEEN BOTHERING ME FOR SO LONG! I’m super flexible at one legged hamstring stretches but as soon as i do double legged it hurts all down my calves and gets way worse with flexion. I’ll have to start flossing ig
Just tested. As a runner I’m very flexible and can touch my palms to the ground with legs straight so it isn’t a problem. My sciatic nerve is less flexible than my hamstrings, but still very flexible
