Mate you are an inspiration to all lads who's dads have supported them in their life and to be able to return the favour like you did just then, made me cry. You're one of the few "youtubers" I can relate to, that clearly cares and is passionate about their craft but also wears your heart on your sleeve. Don't ever change Jim, I've followed you since ball street days & couldn't be happier with the content you tirelessly put onto this platform. It's coming home and you'll see that live!!!!!! ... if not we come back again.

watched this entire thing with a tear in my eye. my old man went to Man City all of his life, highs and lows. he then made sure that I didn't miss a thing through the good times we've been blessed with since 2000. he sorted all my season tickets, cup tickets, cup finals, the lot. Jim, this is one of the loveliest videos I've ever seen! Maybe its because I'm pissed, maybe it's because you've perfectly distilled my feelings about supporting england when you spoke of our success as being a victory of optimism over cynicism, maybe its the fact that you have combined the glorious sentimentality (and glory and pain) of the beautiful game with your own father's emotional and spiritual fabric as a football supporter. Truth is its all of these things and more. I just want you to know that I completely get it and I'll be with you all the way tomorrow xx

Love it Jimbo, this needs to be on other platforms for all to see. Show the players, show the staff. Videos like these are memories in time and the connections we have is all that matters really. This video provokes so many emotions out of me. My dad was born and grew up in Scarborough but our family moved to the US when I was born. Growing up in the US my love for football came from my dad. As young as I remember I couldn't get enough of playing, watching and absorbing footy. We have watched every England game together from the time I can remember learning to talk, I remember the disappointment after South Africa. The disbelief after what happened at Brazil, and France, and every moment in between. During the shootout against Colombia my dad was too nervous to even watch, he had to look away, but the joy afterwards was incredible. Through the thick and the thin we always supported and loved the three lions. My dad passed away a couple of months before Euro 2020 started and it's just been hard ever since. I was so happy we made the final but obviously I just wish more than anything he was here to see it and watching with me like we always did, I couldn't stop crying bittersweet tears. However I know he's watching with me from a better place now, he wouldn't miss these games for the world. It's hard for me to find a connection with fellow England supporters being in the U.S as that was something me and my dad shared that not a lot of other people around here get. But your channel makes me feel welcomed and gives me a sense of belonging in regards to our love of England and the community. Football truly is magical and it has given me some of the happiest memories of my life. This video warms my heart I hope you both have the best time, and thank you for sharing such a special moment. Come on England.

@@nickortiz215 The reunification of the England national team to national identity is success in itself. We don't need to win the tournament to be proud of accomplishments. For me, Football's Coming Home symbolises being proud of how we do and enjoying the game synonymous with our country, not necessarily winning the tournament outright. I think that's where many people seem to think English arrogance comes from.

As a Salfordian living in New York, I've had to watch every game alone, which feels so very strange. Not walking the streets and seeing the smiles, the decorated windows or hearing screams of joy from nearby homes makes me feel like I'm the only person in the world even watching it. A lot of this video is about watching such huge occasions with the people that matter most, and that really hit me hard. As a grumpy old sod, seeing your father's reactions to learning that you had final tickets, I was mightily surprised to find my eyes fill up with tears. Embrace the experience, James, it's such a special thing. Thank you for making me feel warm and fuzzy.
