After watching mia's vids for a while and seeing the relationship between mia and her mom, I felt the urge to make a good relationship with my mom again (we had a lot of problems and we weren't on good terms with each other ) so I tried my best to forget and forgive and now that we are friends again and we have a much better relationship with each other, I'm so happier than before. So thank you mia for making my life better ♥︎
i think black accents instead of silver (like the sink faucets, handles, around the shower) would bring the whole room together so well since the bathtub has black!

I live in Europe and here we almost always have tiles in the bathroom. On the walls and the floor. I thought that was done everywhere in the world. And the correct arrangement of the tiles is not easy, so when I saw the title of the video, I was like: omg, she knows how to do that by herself?! 😆
Yes exactly. We did our own plumbing and everything in our house, except the tiles. Much too difficult for us to get the tile around the curved seat in the shower without professional help 🙈🙈
There are tiles in most bathrooms even in the west, as well as Asia. SOME people opt for wood or something else. Commonly it’s tile though, same as Eur
@@je.1873 they're talking about a wet room though, not just a tiled floor, which really isnt common outside of Europe (especially northern Europe). The whole room is tiled and has a drain in the middle of the floor so the whole room can get wet. That's how most bathrooms are here in Norway too. It makes cleaning so easy. You spray cleaner all over, and then hose down your whole bathroom with the shower.
The way Mia talks to us and brings us along on these adventures and how warm and welcoming Momma and Pappa Maples are, it feels so much like I'm apart of their family too and really makes me feel so happy after a long day. Tip: Home Depot and Lowe’s often have tiles for clearance at the end of seasons. You can get boxes of Stone or marble for a fraction of the retail price. Even better is finding wholesale vendors with overstock

Eventually you should change the hardware on the cabinet and all the fixtures to black but looks great! Also I loved the leaning towel rack next to the tub. (What did you eventually do with it?) The cabinet with the picture on top looked best next to the shower/ opposing the tub.
yAh YeEt Mix and match with hardware and woods is very common, even though they aren’t the same woods and different hard wares she still made it cohesive with the colors she chose.
You guys did an amazing job, every reno you do totally knocks it out of the park! If you are really bothered by the off center light, you could use a solid bar base so you dont see where the junction box is, but that's minor. That tub is phenomenal! And i love the width of the frame around the mirror! Amazing job ladies! You two should start doing remodels for a side job. You have so many ideas that people would love! And if you did that you could get contractors discount for your future personal projects lol
I’m just not in love with that mirror. I know it was supposed to match the little round table, but now that it’s not there, it looks odd on its own and is too bulky. The fact it’s round means it emphasises the off-centre light and is not great to see yourself when you’re in front of your own sink. A larger, rectangular mirror would have been more aesthetically pleasing and would have fitted better with the rest of the look. Plus, it’s way too thick in front of those taps, so a slimmer fit would also be better (but I know that if you have an idea in mind, it doesn’t always translate as well in reality and once you have bought it, you cannot really go back on your design... Hindsight is easier!) 😬

I love how it turned out but its so weird to me to see a bathroom with literally no actual tiles. In my country most bathrooms are tiled from floor to ceiling.

It’s really beautiful....the only thing that I would say is that It looks so much more put together when all the fixtures (faucets, showers trim) are the same metal....and I would have had to rewire the light fixture to be centered above the mirror....even if you had to get someone to come in to do it.....but with all that being said....your actual design and color choice and the work you did is great! You always design pretty rooms and it’s fun to see you work with your mother

Loved this makeover! My fiancé and I desperately need to redecorate our bathrooms (they're over 30 years old and it shows) but ceramic tiles are SO expensive, these vinyl ones are such a great alternative and look so good.

The amount of water he saves is so little. Just do it with running water, Dad Maples. 1s to get your hands wet, 1 pump of soap, maybe 5s of water to rinse it off. Done.
Karen D Your hands don’t need to be under running water for a whole 20 seconds. You’re supposed to distribute the soap all over your hands during that time.
@@karend6467 why would you rinse the soap away immediately after putting it on your hands? You're supposed to wet your hands, use soap for 20 seconds, and then rinse. This is how they taught me in CNA class and also what is posted at my job... Don't rinse the soap off right away, then you're not cleaning or disinfecting anything.
Oh my goodness!! When I saw the space around the toilet and shower while you were tiling, I thought how convenient it would be to have the tool that shapes to the space you wanted to tile and... tada you bring it out! Did you find it easy to use? Was it helpful? Love the tile on the floor and the rest of the bathroom...great work
This turned out amazing! Good job, Mia! one little comment tho- maybe I'm just an overly cautious person, but I would've redone the drywall and baseboards that had the water damage rather than just painting over it. Extra work (& money), but worth it for the reassurance of knowing there's no black mold growing behind the wall.
I think the handles on the cupboard could definitely benefit from changing, maybe black to match the bath taps but you’d probably need the sink taps to be black too!
I've never seen the stairs and they are gorgeous!! the little tiles that make a pop of color are just perfect!! I've never seen anything like it on stairs 😮. I love it!!
