Can we have a whole series of making over spaces for them? This is such an amazing organization and your fun touches and style would be epic to see everywhere!
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do a series of similar makeovers for good causes like this. I've watched so many room makeovers (and enjoyed them!) that were for people who could most likely buy their own Article ottoman if they wanted! :) It is a whole new level to watch these makeovers on places that are working hard and doing so much good. And knowing it's for people who may not otherwise get to enjoy such a lovely space. Please do more!
this! i dont really care to watch airbnb makeovers or rooms of well-known youtubers. seeing the effort really go to good use and people who truly need the help is way more interesting.
@@mdwrm yeah. I have to admit I just don’t watch makeovers of other content creators’ spaces anymore. Maybe that makes me bitter 😊 But they already have all the resources they could need!
I never thought I would be PROUD to be a SUBSCRIBER of a channel before but I am so proud of yall for this work!!! I posted this comment on Part 1 but I really want y'all to see it so here it is again: I’ve worked in the nonprofit field for 10 years and most nonprofits run on a very tight budget with staff that do multiple jobs at once so they usually can only do the necessity and do not have the time or money to think about the design. I’ve worked in ministries that serve low income folks and they are very used to wearing hand-me-downs or previously broken things and existing in spaces that are just good enough but nothing more. I have so much to say about how design = dignity!! As designers you know the impact that being in a well thought out, cared for, and designed space can have on your mind and your mood. When low income clients get into spaces like the one you are creating, many of them are taken aback because they typically don’t get to experience those spaces. PLEASE do more to help good design (and it’s affects on dignity) reach people that really need it. PLEASE find more local nonprofits and do more of these episodes because you are changing so much more than just the design. You are impacting the way their clients are feeling and giving them a greater sense of dignity and worthiness that they deserve something this nice. Thank you again and this just goes to show how top tier the Sorry Girls are in the influencer design world!!!!
Came here to say something similar. I manage a domestic violence shelter and cannot even express the kind of impact this has for people!!! This is such a cool thing that you guys did and the room looks amazing!!!!
Yes!!! I’ve worked in a women’s shelter for quite a few years now and it’s always bare necessities for them. I do everything I can to make sure they get everything they need and more! A lot of these women leave situations with only the clothing on their back and their kid, and that’s it. I love seeing videos like this, I wish so badly the sorry girls could come to northern Wisconsin and do something similar for my shelter!
As someone who lived in a shelter for teens in without homes (me and my sister) and “troubled youth” I can’t say how much this will impact their experience while living there. It truly is so amazing what you’ve created for these mothers and their little ones. ❤
Subscribed for the windows. And for the mothers lounging. And for women teaming up. And for the connection of style and mental health. And so much more.
@@TheSorryGirls I want more of this! Your skills are so much wanted everywhere to give another alignment and support for people in need of it. Its nice to make over in general, but to not always spoil already the privileged, but the struggling ones would be such an upgrade for me to watch!!! ❤❤❤
As someone who works in Social Services and with disadvantage youth this episode really made me tear up. I’m so proud of you guys, been a subscriber for years and you guys are a quality company and influencers. Thank you for how you contribute to your community. It takes a village to raise kids, and a village to help moms. You guys are awesome
this hands down was the best and most meaningful room makeover i’ve seen. absolutely love it and love The Sorry Girls for doing this! Humanity at its finest!! ❤❤❤❤
What a wonderful transformation! As someone who had a child two months after turning 17, I cannot express how much the support of my mom and accommodations school staff had to me helped me through that time. This is such a beautiful thing you guys did for such a wonderful organization 👏🏽
This made me emotional. This room will show these young women that they deserve a life filled with beauty and love. So proud of the creators and community contributors that you are
This couldn’t have come at a perfect time! I’m designing a community room for formerly homeless youth at work and I’ve picked up a lot of tips from watching the Sorry Girls over the years. I’ve even made a mood board to show my bosses!!
This was absolutely incredible, exactly what she said “love personified” it’s so exquisite!! 💕💕 I’m so proud of TSG for reaching out and doing a design project for people and organizations like this!
This melt my heart ! As an adult who was a foster kid I enjoyed to be in a place that feels like home ! You did this space such a make over. I'm very thankful for all the mama's that will spend time here !
I love that Emily loves her job like that. She somehow shined. You girls did soo good. It all fits so well together. And i adore the thought behind it. ❤
WHOOOOOOO I'm emotional. This room was a challenge and you knocked it out of the park! I love how everyone on the team contributed and I loved seeing you two being goofy together! Happy IWD to the whole TSG team!
This is amazing! So many good things in one project! Bringing a little joy to young moms and babies at a challenging time in their lives. Supporting an organization doing important work. Becky and Kelsie working side by side. Thank you Team Sorry Girls!
I was so worried there wasn’t going to be enough color but the window treatment and the leds help so much????? I love it!!!! It made me teary eyed listening to the lullaby music. I’m so glad y’all got to work with this lovely organization. Makes me proud to be a woman ❤
This made me cry because this is an awesome cause. It is so important for people who live in a transitional home, to not only know hey are safe, but to feel comfortable. You achieved a warm and inviting space for these women. Brava!
I've watched you from your halloween costume days and this has been my first premiere, and I'm so freaking impressed by the team. I love that you make over real life spaces and make a positive impact on regular people instead of only sticking to other influencers and brand deals. And that you do good in a sustainable and non-exploitative way. We notice and appreciate you guys having clear values and sticking to them, and I'm always impressed how you're able to give us fresh ideas and designs after such a long time, and how you continue to evolve. Especially the inclusion of more women of color in your team has been such an awesome development to see lately! You really set a high standard for content creators and I look up to you so much. And in honor of international women's day, I appreciate you highlighting the badass women who quite literally work to support other women, and the young women who need that support. It just shows how we're a sisterhood and we can use our talents to help each other out along the way :) Editing so say sorry for the novel, this video has got me in my feels for some reason. I don't commend often but you guys are such a treasure that I felt I had to get it out there! :)
Amazing!! Amazing!!! Amazing!!! Please do more of these! There are so many organizations and shelters in town that could receive some loving!!! Thank you!! thank you!!!
9:54 TIP! for the foam fold it in half and have the pillow case already folded rolled up to the end of the pillow covering it will make it so much easier
I would love to see 1 - a short of how you did the acrylic bookshelf and 2 - more information about how this makeover was financed (assuming all parties are OK with that) - did Abiona reach out to you or vice versa, did they pay for anything, how much was donated vs purchased, etc. Maybe it's just me but I do find the financial side of these makeover videos very interesting.
Can't speak for TSG/Canada but I know artists in the US who have done murals in women's shelters and group homes and usually the artist applies for a grant from a charitable fund. The one I helped with, we donated our time and I believe the materials needed were covered by a benefactor.
I’m assuming that Best Buy didn’t just gift the product but also gave money to the sorry girls to redo the space. Some of the new furniture pieces (the non secondhand pieces) could’ve been gifted by the brands as well! I doubt the center paid (just from the knowledge that the majority of non profits don’t have the funds for this)
Omg their reactions!!!! You’re amazing talents!!! I’m beyond happy these young mothers are going to have a space they truly deserve… and YOU GUYS DID THAT!!!!!!! Omg I’m so proud to be in your audience. And have the privilege to see you guys do amazing work 🥹😍
Ladies, you did a wonderful job on this gathering room for the Moms’. It is bright and cheerful, yet warm and cozy. These young Moms’ will absolutely love it!
This is so lovely. The orange on the windows is perfect, it just makes it feel warm and cozy and friendly. I would love to see more of this sort of project.
LOVE LOVE LOVE it! The orange film on the windows and that color changing light introduced a warmth that is so necessary (especially in cold Canada!). Went from "leftover dorm furniture" aesthetic to fun and cozy. Loved that your Best Buy Geek was a woman and all the tech you got should be so fun for the young moms. I also love the DIY bookshelf! Hope they will fill it with books for the kids.
This turned out so cute. I'm glad you kept the chairs as when you're nursing those are comfortable and helpful to rock an infant to sleep. I actually had those foam tiles to put over my bedroom floor. Its so sweet to see y'all gove back to someone deserving. I'd love to see more non profit room makeovers in the future. It just warms my heart to see the sweet stories. PS one thing i would have done is mounted that mirror to the wall cuz I mean sticky fingerprints and toddlers running around it is not ideal to have it on the floor. It needs to be more childproof ie cabinet locks and cord covers.
Amazing! What a great room! I love the pops of color and the lighting…omg! The lighting is fantastic! Using the tiles as a carpet is so smart. It warms up the room, allowing children to play and not be on a hard floor. It’s also a soft place to fall, as children do! This entire project is an amazing opportunity to support women in need. I’m sure the moms are loving it!
It might not be my style, my colour pallet, or I might have done some things differently, but this makeover's importance is just beyond. Making over a space for a community with such an important job it's so meaningful. Thank you for doing this and for bringing so much joy.
This was so inspiring, on every level. I think the young mothers and their babies will be so happy in the room. Thanks for sharing your creativity and your compassion. It's one of the best makeovers I've watched you and your team accomplish.
I love the focus on lighting options. The nap time / nighttime lighting was such a vibe, it transformed the space completely. And those blinds are super cool!
Yeah…I gotta say it. I couldn’t be more proud of you all. Using your platform and resources to give back and spread messages of inclusivity is so valuable. You nailed it and more than that, your efforts will continue to benefit and enrich lives for years to come. Well done❤
In a world that is often focused on the negative, you have created a space that does the opposite. What a Lovely and thoughtful thing to do. I hope you do more spaces like these!
I can't - this is one of the most lovely renovations you guys have ever done. What a perfect space you've created! The community is going to feel the love.
You transformed it from institution to a home. The before with all the random furniture, tape on the floor, taped up papers on the wall, horrific and look at it now, warm, fun and playful for both moms and kids 🧡
Favorite video to date. I would love to see more like this! It is so heartwarming to see all the hardwork your team puts into this channel being used for such a wonderful cause ❤️
It is gorgeous! They will surely love the space and make use of it together, creating that all important community. Well done ladies! Would love to see more projects like this for people/services in need. ❤
What a gift this is! The love and care you put into this space oozes from every corner, it is definitely going to be beloved by dozens of young parents. This is why I'm ride or die for you guys, you can tell how committed to your values you are, and you put your money, time, and talent where your mouth is. X
This is a great illustration of the power of design, that we take care of people with great design and that they feel the care using the space. I think that that is one of the ways we all make a healthy community.
This is so amazing and is a perfect example of why interior design is so important!! It can make such a huge impact on peoples lives. Coming from someone with clinical depression and other mental disorders, I always notice when I’m in a well thought out space, that can bring up my mood by looking at all the colors, shapes etc. So I’m sure it will make a lot of difference to young mamas and their babies, being not only in a safe space, but also the one that is comfortable and uplifting!
honestly teared up at the end of this reveal. So amazing the reach you girls can provide, what an incredible partnerhip and mad props to the people who put this together. Love Nina's stand-in/stand-out appearance. AND THE ROOM LOOKED FANTASTIC. Y'all kill it every time with the design and this one felt so special.
Wow I am blown away. Your makeovers have always been amazing but this honestly tops it because of the meaning behind it. These young woman are loved and have a home when they felt like they didn’t have one before. ❤ incredible job ladies
Ladies 👏👏👏👏👏👏 this is by far the MOST FULFILLING ❤ Warming episode. I cried thinking about the love and joy those moms and babies will experience. I am praying that y’all can go back and do every single room, kitchen and office at that nonprofit. The room was spectacular ❤ Hats off to best buy for contributing ❤
might have teared up a bit during the reveal. hands down one of my favorite videos from the sorry girls. you guys truly created a safe and colorful space for the mothers and children. these types of organizations truly make such a difference and have a really positively impact their communities. I'm so happy to be subscribed to you guys, and I'm so proud that you use your platform like this. 🤍🤍🤍
You know at first I was worried about the bright colors but it turned out so amazing!!!! ❤❤❤❤ as mom myself I just know how much this is going to mean for those mamas with such big transitions. Means more than you know 💗
Best video(s) on your channel so far! Your whole team should be so proud of this effort and how it has turned out and how much is it going to help these you women. Feeling cared for by being given the necessities is great, but being given luxury like this just hits so much more. And best buy team up whaaat?!? Amazing all round ❤❤❤
this makeover was incredible, but can we just take a moment to appreciate how ICONIC becky’s outfit was in the reveal/last part of the video?? i need it!
Guys. What an INCREDIBLE transformation of a space. You've taken something which felt more like a waiting area and elevated it to a place for gathering. It feels so warm and comforting for mammas and babies alike. A huge well done !
You girls nailed it! What an awesome space. So much love and beauty. You have helped these women and children tons. What an inspiration! You are my heroes!
This is absolutely amazing and such a joy to watch the thought an attention to detail that went into this project. Such a safe an refreshing space for these women and their children. So heartwarming an inspiring to see, truly!
this is the most meaningful and amazing redecor you have ever done in my humble opinion. women for women, all the way. you lifting the furniture upstairs together, setting the tech up, their reactions... this is so wholesome, so important ❤
I love this! You did such a good job! As a mum with a very inquisitive 10 month old I am somewhat concerned about all of the exposed cables (behind tables and chairs, but babies will definitely seek those out 😂). Other than that I really am loving it.
Outstanding!!! The results are so good! I would love to see more of these transformations! Kudos to the Sorry Girls team for such a meaningful project!
Thank you so much for doing this and for loving these women through this beautiful and welcoming space you created! Would totally love it if you ever do more spaces like this❤
Wow, this is the first of your makeover videos that have made me tear up! I love how this will make these young women feel so valued. Thank you so much for doing this.
My favorite makeover so far. I dont think you guys will ever know the change, love and positive impact that this design will have for so many and future generations. As someone who has been blessed by well designed & cared nonprofits. Being accepted in a space that you probably wouldn’t have access to before with this level of detail; it changes lives. Learning that you are worthy. Design can truly make such a huge impact. So thank you. My heart feels so full and touched
I jus love that you made with the space. I usually dont like neon color but this orange is just perfect for the space. A special thanks to the team of the center .
This is amazing! And I love the array of colors and design elements: they’re lovely, but also incredibly practical as adding and replacing things in coming years will be easier with such an eclectic flair to the space.
