Picked up this sweet ride off of Facebook Marketplace this week and HAD to surprise my wife with it, after she told me I wasn't allowed to buy anymore vehicles or items...but I couldn't pass up this opportunity! What do you think??
Centurion (part of Starcraft conversions) was the coach works, in White Pigeon, MI...the C350 started as an OEM F350 Crew Cab (long bed), cut-down and the Bronco rear added. TheRe was a C150 that started as a standard cab and was stretched. There was no 3/4 ton version offered. It was sold through a Ford dealership and is all OEM bits! The roof has polyester filler, so CHECK THAT for rust and delamination. Centurion made several other models not made directly by Ford like a crew cab F150 and the Van-nosed pick-up "Cruiser." The upfitterer was sold to "Southern Comfort Conversions" and then ended operations in 2009 after the nation-wide 2008 financial fiasco. I had a '90 C350/Navistar-IH 7.3L Diesel, 4x4. It was incredible and was sold for a good price to an enthusiast that planned to run it on waste cooking oil. I bet the actual mileage here has a 1 or 2 on the left end of the odometer that cannot be displayed.
I think this is one of those situations where the husband buys himself something and says it’s for the "wife". It's ok i've done it before with a bowling ball.
I remember the day I was at the county fair and they were showcasing one of these. The excitement was palpable and people were literally going crazy to check it out. If my memory serves me right $39k was the price. Pretty sweet ride with some exciting history.
Sweet find. Bronco was the last to retain the removable roof. Hell yeah, that's the best part of that truck, and the 460 1 ton 4x4 solid front axle with extra doors. I love it
I'm a chevy driver who has 3 suburbans but these are Hella cool and Hella rare. I don't understand why they didn't make a ton of these for Ford folks as suburban alternatives. I think the Excursions are badass but I prefer my burbans
I really love the 460. I have a carbureted one in my 1985 F-250. It starts instantly no matter how cold and goes int a super smooth almost silent 500 rpm idle. SO reliable.
Haven't seen one of those before. Was this an aftermarket conversion by Centurian for Ford? Seems like I've heard that name before in aftermarket stuff. Hey Biff, just find your channel today and subscribed. Used to love to watch you and Mikey on your Speed Channel show. Think it was This Week In NASCAR. May have the name of the show wrong but it was a great show. Schrader was on there alot with you guys.
okay greg, 3 things; I saw the same look on my wifes face when I bought her a new shotgun I've always wanted, #2 if the whole NASCAR thing had fallen through you'de done quite well in the used car game and #3, that thing screams for a 12 valve Cummins with an Allison 8 spd, your welcome
She will forgive you one day Uncle Biff. Maybe. I bought my wife a brand new truck back in 1991. After a week with it she refused to drive a car ever again. Good luck man....
Just like when I explain to the wife how SHE needed a new gun. Yeah, I get about the same response. Hope you are still okay Greg! Maybe you could have raced better with Cleetus if you didn't have to worry about the wife and the new car. 🙂
That is not a Ford Centurion that is a F-350 with a Bronco back end created by a company I think it's called Centurion now I like it but also if there's rust on that tailgate thing there's probably lots of rust also I think I've heard that they've had a lot of them up in Alaska so that probably means iced roads which means a lot more Russ is going to appear anyway whatever I like the truck
MEH....UPDATE GET A FORD EXCRUSION.....WAY BETTER LOOKING TRUCK AND A V10 OR THE MOST RELIABLE DIESEL EVER 7.3......THIS THING IS A WASTE OF MONEY AND TERRIBLE RIDE
My Bronco's odometer says the exact same thing. Just put a 2 in front of it. LOL "Not a spot of rust anywhere" except the giant rust hole in the tailgate. Bwaaaahahahaha. She's pissed.
Centurion was the conversion company. These were converted from a donor chassis and oem bronco back end grafted. Sold at ford dealers just like the more common conversion vans that centurion offered. Dont remember what they called these f- series crew cabs that were converted to 4 door broncos... I sold the vans new and that was in the early 1990s... well done vans ive only seen one of these in person.
Now that's a truck.. I'll take that car over these damn plastic now in day cars.. put a lift kit, some bigger tires n upgrade the suspension n you'll get a damn beast..
Hello, my friend, I don't think your wife appreciates the find. I would find her something a little newer and ready to roll. Just one fellow to another.
Great find Greg have you ever looked for an old Ford maverick My great grandmother used to have one it was I nice classic till it sat too long on the lawn and rusted out😢
i just found your channel. i used to watch you race. I laughed way harder than i should have when you said you found Marketplace.. I knew what you were gonna say next.
i bought my wife a Durango after the third kid, specifically for a third row seat. It was a total suprise, pulled up in the drive on a cell call , and she says: did they have any different color 😖
That is cool, your wife is lucky. Mine only got a new Lincoln Aviator. I haven’t seen a Centurion in 25 years. I always wondered why Ford never made a 4 door Bronco back then. What’s a bit amazing is the size difference between that F350 and the new F250, I think.
@@mikelliteras397 They are seriously cool. A few RU-vidrs putting 4 wheel drive under them. I would love one. With all the suburbans sold in the US, you think ford would have jumped in.
Oh Biff, come on now… you can’t tell me that you were unaware and/or did not know that this new “family hauler” of yours is NOT an F350 after all!?!?!? I mean, clearly, this beast is nothing more than just your everyday, run-of-the-mill, Ford “C350 CLASSIC”!!! Go back, look through the video and just check it out for yourself, if some of you don’t believe me. It says so right there on the front fender badges!!! There are multiple shots of the exterior of the truck where you can clearly see the badges on the front fender between the front edge of the front door and the wheel wells. I mean, we all know that it’s originally an F350, but when Centurion did the “conversion” they removed the factory “F350” badges and installed their very own, custom Centurion badges… and the “C350 CLASSIC” was born!!!
