There's no cgi on the suit. It and almost all of the sets are as much as was possible is practical

This show intentionally did the inverse of Mandolorian, its not meant to be huge per se with tons of build up. Chief ain't Mando he has no issues taking off his helmet and this series plans on him doing so , so they probably figured get it out of the way early to set expectations.

Mahkee is a new character that was introduced here, but her inclusion is in reference to the Librarian's saving of our species from the Didact , and our ability to use Forerunner technology. After the Human/Flood/Forerunner war 100k years ago, we lost to the Forerunners and were de-evolved, the Diadact was going to use the Composer to convert us all into Knights but the Librarian saved us, she also included within us the ability to use Forerunner tech, which the Covenant look at as holy. The San Shayum (Profits) know of that, but that took 4 Halo games to flesh out and explain, so the show is giving us Mahkee.

So in established lore the Spartans where not brainwashed of their memories (from my knowledge of the lore Iv never seen it) basically most of them got over what happened to them or just forgot as they got older which even happens to us we don’t remember a lot of things from when we were kids. It seems like In this timeline they did in fact wipe the memories when they were kids. It’s a pretty interesting take and as someone who’s very into the games and books I don’t mind the way they are taking the show. Honestly it’s just a brand new timeline and lore to follow. I hope they do good with it.

Oh yeah, the weapons the innes were using. Are just regular ammo. During the early parts of the war it was hard to kill the covenant. Now, it is standard issue to use armor piercing rounds. (Why the chain gun didn't work for them, but did for Chief idk). So far, even though the lore appears to be put where they want and not where the games established. I am here for the ride. Especially if we get more action scenes like that.

I think the elites up close look amazing cgi wise, but when they are far away they seem a bit out of place... I think if they ajust the color and light a little bit it would fix the issue.

Covenant weapons in games don't show how deadly they are portrayed in the books and novels Because in the games when you get hit by a plasma gun it just drains your shield then you fall over and died. In the books when a human gets hit with a plasma gun their face gets melted off or blown off Plus tthe human covenant war lasted for nearly 30 years in the timeline of the games humanity lost 300 colonies destroyed by the covenant. No one was spared covenant forces would attack unarmed civilians man, women and children they on a genocidal crusade to exterminate all humans from the galaxy because they thought humans were a blight to their Gods The forerunners but they did not realise that humans were the true chosen of the forerunners cause only humans can activate forerunner technology and artifacts.
