To realise the fortune of knowing in this lifetime the Supreme Consciousness has express itself is a divine liberation. My cup runneth over is no more a metaphor. I felt the embrace of his magnificent Holy silence.
Thank Sri Ramana Maharshi for your great compassion, love, and peace you have bestowed upon all sentient beings by surrendering to Brahman, the Self. OM TAT SAT OM!!!
Very, very well explained for western people! I listened to the video a couple of times to understand it better and to be able to follow the common thread. Thank you! 🙏
Listen to this talk many times! So simple and eloquent. It points at our resistance to our true self. Every time I hear this talk I’m looking at the path again. My western mind is burdened by my conditioning but I know that 😊.
There is no God, or Him or figure or whatever to meditate on. Everything just is and isn't all at once... I loved it anyway. 😍 Had I not figured out the separation or dropping of the ego none of this would've made any sense to me. Thank you for helping me solidify an idea via this post. ❤️ 😊 🙏
I hear, I understand, kind of. But have I got the gumption to face what I may not be ready to face? Well, it's going to take courage & calm. Wonderful wisdom, wonderful knowledge. Let's hope life is long enough to practice, discern it & smoke weed.

People comment on how to slow the speaking down. I downloaded many of Mr. Medicine's fabulous videos into an mp3 format and put them into the Audacity audio editor. Then I put several more seconds of space between the complete thoughts. I think we all have different speeds of comprehension, and this has helped me digest the ideas before the next one arrives. I believe it was L. Ron Hubbard who said that the ONLY difficulty we have with other people is in the different rates of comprehension. If I can understand you quick enough and you can understand me quick enough, we will have a great time together. Love is a function of communication. :)
21:40 if longing is there realisation will be forced on you even if you dont want it. Long for it intensely so that the mind melts in devotion. After camphor is burnt...no residue is left.mind is camphor. When it enters into Self without leaving the slightest trace....= Self realsation
His pronunciation of Sanskrit words is just awful and difficult to understand and plainly not correct and confusing. I have to hear few times to understand. He is also too fast. Otherwise it is good I think.
I asked the master once , how do I surrender? He said trust. Further contemplation on surrender the master told me, just love. Then after practicing trust and love I contemplated further. The master said listen.
Alexander Pope in his "Essay on Man": Submit -- In this, or any other sphere, Secure to be as blest as thou canst bear: Safe in the hand of one disposing Pow'r, Or in the natal, or the mortal hour. All Nature is but Art, unknown to thee; All Chance, Direction, which thou canst not see; All Discord, Harmony, not understood; All partial Evil, universal Good: And, spite of Pride, in erring Reason's spite, One truth is clear, "Whatever IS, is RIGHT."
@Joy Fold Pope is a revered 17/18th century poet of England. His translation of Homers Illiad is a tour de force and was for me, life changing to a life of interest in humanity's unconscious histories through myth. The best poets & teachers offer bones for an imagination to flesh... all wisdom is poetic so imagination over knowledge. Worth a look. Hope that helps.

Noticed while listening How Ramana focuses on the "I am". That is an affirmation of Beingness rather than a negation of beingness. However it is also implied the "Seeker" gets to the bottom of the "I am" to realize its True Identity>>> And also negating its false identity... Then when you are the "I am" the NOn- Beingness is "Self-Evident" & implied. Like a Quantum computer 1 & 0 at the same time " I Am" = "I Am Not" ? I dunno
29:15 - eagerness to be dispassionate... is still an activity of the mind, it is still desire. the soul suffers on two accounts - 1) physical pain of the body to which it is bound; 2) capacity to think and therefore it thinks and therefore continues to 'act' on the stage show of life.. So then, while we cannot control what happens to us and the physical pain that may be experienced, we can find out who we are - the observer, the act of observation, and that which is observed.. that state of consciousness frees one from suffering.

I find all this 'I am not this I am that' and all the rest a confusing set of thoughts to hold on to during a busy day, life etc.I'm not sure I can without adding to my burdens rather than freeing them.Of course there is process bigger than me that I have no control over. But there is also my life over which I can, with a posertive attitude influence to whatever extent that process allows. I can surrender to that notion because I have no choice. But to go through life referring to myself in the third person(for that is what self inquiry seems to be asking me to do)is a non starter for me right now....You might think this is gobeldygook, but it makes as much sense to me as I,m hearing in this and many other Buddist/Hindu whatever uploads
Just out of interest, do you feel differently now? I relatively recently started to find this type of thing truly meaningful. I recognise that 'I' is God but I still use 'I' to mean 'myself' when dealing with other people.
Halo, please I have a question. I understand the keeping of the I thought but I'm not sure about the breathing. Is it supposed to regulate by itself or I am allowed deep rhythmic breathing?
@@Florian_Ionescu Would you be eager to be what you really are? Do you need to be? Is the highest ambition already there just awaiting you to recognize it? Let the eagerness be you.
not to worry, many situations in life will prod one to become eager.........we will all have to face some adverse circumstance which will throw us into despondency and this will be the catalyst towards us seeking the self. It is the only worthwhile goal of life..that is all I want with every breath!!!!
If the ego is an illusion then there is no ego that actually exists therefore ego cannot do anything and if everything happens according to God's will then God is the only doer. We cannot do anything of ourself so there is no self other than God the one true Self of all. We are completely powerless in and of ourself. We have no control. Everything only happens according to God's will. With all that in mind there cannot be anything for us to do or even can do. The idea that we ever did anything to begin with is an illusion.
@@ira4600 If it is predetermined, best thing we can do is continue the practice since it will free us from the judgements, criticisms, fear, pain etc(?)
So insightful and helpful, thank you! But uh, it is not Ramaana, it is Ramana. The "n" is pronounced with the tongue retroflexed back on the palate, but most westerners cannot do that...:)
Us westerners can't do much, give you that one lol. Too self involved for too long has given birth to many problems. I am grateful to be from the west however, it's a clear indication of what not to do, what not to focus on. The ppl here mean well anyway
@@othernewsid2 Sanskrit does not have a Z. That came from Urdu...which is why so many of us use the J sound for Z. And Sanskrit only has V and not W....
Joy Fold You speak about simple things that must be experienced- could you please elaborate and mention those and what you experiences were? Thank you.
23:07..Self, which is devoid of any attachment, alone is one's own state of Silence, which is devoid of any other thing. Know that ones ever abiding as that silence having experienced it as it is, alone is true mental worship 10:14 the sense of doer-ship is the bondage and not the actions themselves.
The way I fix that is to slow the speed to 75%. It is much deeper understanding. As well as taking pause after each profound teaching which calls for time out and conscious awareness in its fullness. I repeat for whole week. Often go back after some time. It is wonderful to feel the expansion of consciousness as the pieces start falling into the wholesome light of TRUTH. Namaste Medicine Man. Your devotion is healing many souls and making the Universe vibrate with love and Grace. Namaste.
Trevor , not necessarily . It can be considered an “ End “ teaching ,but because it is not a teaching in the traditional sense and because there is no End then anyone at any time can realize who they really are as consciousness awake to itself. Because we are always that wakefulness , it won’t be absolutely necessary to have practiced many years . Who we are is available always . we are never not that . There is the idea that one must practice in order to realize that they did not have to practice , but mentioning that to a seeker will throw their mind out of this moment and into the illusory future .
@@trevorwharton8183 i dedicate only a part of my life and am trying to dedicate my entire life to spiritual seeking... before this transient life comes to an end !!!
You can play all the games you want with words. But If you knew who you truly are why would it bother you how other people pronounce or mispronounce names?
