Vibishan is one the greatest devotee . He was living in a place where not even a single person was a ram bhakt. Leave aside bhakti the entire kingdom was full of sin and tamas. Still vibishan just like a lotus flower in mud , had a heart pounding love for god. It is such a great inspiration for all of us , although in this kaliyug there is a lot of sin in the environment but we are more fortunate than vibishan because we have saints like swamiji who are teaching us bhakti of krishna.❤️🙏

Not a Hindu, but I greatly respect these texts that point towards universal truths about God's nature. Jesus Christ revealed to the world the forgiveness of God, and stories like this affirm that in a beautiful way. The writers of these texts certainly had some profound insight into the nature of God.

True humility is not an abject, grovelling, self-despising spirit; it is but a right estimate of ourselves as God sees us. In our humble position, we accept the supremacy of God over ourselves and everything else and in that state surrender comes naturally.

Humility is what God loves. And a humble man tries to find defects in himself first. When Vibhishan surrendered to Ram He immediately anointed him as the king of Lanka. One more takeaway is , one may be born in rakshas kul but still be a Rambhakt. . So, God does not see the caste or creed religion or language. He only sees the bhav.

The humility of Vibhishan stands for truth and goodness, ready to sacrifice opulence to seek shelter in God. Lord Rama is very compassionate; he accepts the demon when the demon seeks refuge with him and is ready to give his kingdom if Ravana seeks refuge with him. God is so kind that he accepts not only demons but also fallen souls like us; he extends his helping hand to every soul. If we take one step, he takes 60 steps for us.

It is never too late to surrender to God, the story of Vibhishan tell us that no matter in what kul we are born, no matter how many sins we make ultimately its above bhaav and surrender. When we deeply feel for God and have true bhakti, God accepts us the way we are.

I am constantly trying to live up to the the example that Vibhishana led. Many times I cannot, and this is hard to know. Living in the US, no one in my family, friends, or job knows Sanatana Dharma and are constantly following adharma. I always try to speak the truth even when it is not what they want to hear, but many times I do not, as I know they will receive it just as Ravana did. I consider these things often. Many of them are Christian and feel uncomfortable hearing anything not in their book, so I believe they have even less ability to hear the truth than Ravana, who knew dharma but chose ego and desire. As a boss, I always speak and follow Dharma, but as a friend I often fall short of Vibhishana's example. If I speak the truth, I might have to leave Lanka...but they are my friends and family and are wonderful people whom I love. These are things we all have to consider carefully when speaking to loved ones whom we know will not hear the truth. If we cannot live up to Vibhishana's example, how great Shri Ram must be.

By any means we have to surrender completely our mind,intellect, body every thing at the lotus 🪷 feet of the Supreme lord. He is our protector, saviour, well wisher.
