We had a Sur Ron Storm Bee on test at the Cardiff Motocross Track. Thanks to Marsh MX for giving us a go reviewing the Surron Storm Bee. We had the bike for a week to see what it’s like.
I have been waiting for this! While I would never give up my Segway X260's one I have about 3k in upgrades power/wheels/suspension. etc. into 4K bike and another I teach my 13-year-old daughter to ride I want even more, and the Storm Bee fits the bill! The KTM is over 12k so I will be on board as soon as I can get my hands on one! Great to show people who have no idea how great this is. I can come home from work and with all my led lights ride on the trails at night with no noise and no people only creatures.
We definitely think this is the future. We absolutely loved our first ever electric bike experience on the Storm Bee. We are proper petrol heads but this gave us the proper motocross experience with out the fumes and noise.
Love to see real life tests of this bike! Would like to know how long is the overall riding time on one charge in sport mode. Also your impressions on the suspension and the relatively high weight would be great! Cheers
Great review and riding! I saw in some reviews claim the bike is soft. How did this bike hold-up on the jumps? Suspension stiff enough for the MX track and still able to go over small bumps with some adjustments?
Nice bike. What about DC fast charging (CEE-socket built in) in the road legal version, is that coming anytime soon? Cause that would greatly increase the number of potential buyers.
Hi.. I would like to ask a question. Is this power equivalent to a 250f or a 450f? I am wondering because i sold my 450f due to it almost killing me and it was to0 big and heavy. Surron say it is 280lb's which seems a lot for 250F power and is heavier than factory 450f's.. If its hard to ride like a 450f i may be better with Ultra Bee.
@@twilightgang4828 when I say engine - read as motor - basically its a warning to say regen not possible because the battery charge is full to capacity
I just bought one, done 5 hours on it, very capable for enduro and has the beans. If you buy one get rid of the tyres, they are terrible. Ive gone a hybrid trials tyre, gummy compound for insane grip, its what u need with monster torque these have.
So is it fair to say that the storm bee is more on par with a CRF 250R in performance? You have the Alta and now the Stark Varg that were slated as being in the 450 realm with a much higher KW and BHP rating compared to the storm bee, which is why I ask? Either way,, It seems like it has great potential depending on the pricepoint.
@@alexutemov if you know how to control the throttle you don’t need a clutch,if you don’t know or a beginner rider, you need a clutch then, pro can ride no clutch
weight, lose the music its way louder than speech, 10:40 why do people get fixated on exhaust emissions ! We need to stop making pointless shit and limit the man hours each thing needs put in to it to save the planet not just all buy EVs (have you seen the resources needed to mine and make metal parts and the toxic fumes they release in the process)
While the resources and energy needed to produce electric are high, the life of the battery and vehicle will have a net loss of carbon emissions compared to a gas powered bike or car.
