The video shows Harper Mercer apparently pawning a long gun and purchasing a handgun on Sept. 29, 2015, two days before the Umpqua shooting. Investigators released a receipt showing Harper Mercer bought a .380 caliber Hi-Point handgun at 12:32 p.m. that day for $163 in a Roseburg pawn shop, and another receipt showing he sold a Mossberg 500 12-gauge shotgun for $125.
Investigator said during the mass shooting, Harper-Mercer had a .380 Hi-Point handgun with him, but that he did not fire it in the classroom where his victims were killed. Video courtesy of Douglas County Sheriff’s Office.
