As a kid in the 70's there was the children's TV series by Eddie McGee [no doubt called 'No need to die' though I can't remember] .The No need to die book was my first Survival/bushcraft book, not that I found it as useful as any Ray Mears or Mors Kohanski book.
@@antman29able The reason I looked up Eddie McGee on RU-vid, [hoping there would be clips from his kids show] was because I just came across a documentary on UK channel 4 about a case in 1982 when a guy went on the rampage in a heavily wooded area of Yorkshire, shot 4, killing 2 Policemen and a civilian dead. Eddie volunteered his tracking services and was told to get lost! Thankfully they employed his services, long story short, he tracked them to the guys hide [he shot himself rather than do time]. Police had spent days trying to track him down, said he was an expert in the woods! Turns out, he'd been trained by Eddie McGee!
Stay alive with Eddie McGee was a series and the books even on Amazon , the early 80s tv series , I think it was survival with Eddie McGee, Eddie's son runs a course up near nidderdale in Yorkshire I believe which is where Eddie lived I believe , I had his " no need to die" book in around 1984 when I was around 16 years of age
@@johnthomas-vy3th His son is a world renowned expert on Tracking,, he has often appeared in the U.K. Bushcraft magazine. Eddies TV series was shown in the 70's, as remember watching it after school, may have been repeated later, would be great to see it now though.
