Great video showing that there is some nice hiking local in Connecticut! Are there any plans to add huts or shelters to the New England Trail? How did you handle your snake friend? Keep the Videos coming Thanks

=D Thank ya Larry. For the snake, I just made some noise and that fella just slipped off the trail. I don't think they have intention of adding more huts or camp areas as a decent bit of the trail is on private land. I would love to see an option to through hike aside from hiding out or hotels though! More people would probably be on the trail honestly. Thanks again! All the best!

Great video...your Dad is great!! Glad you saw the Copperhead. They blend right in...I came a little too close for comfort at Blue Hills with one...Great narration...looks like a great section...well done!

Thank you! Yeah they are sneaky little buggers. We both stepped over it before I saw it actually, very well hidden. All the best!

Thanks Phil! Yeah, the first time I cam so close to stepping on one to be honest. I have seen plenty off trail but this one wanted to be in the middle of things! All the best, Gary.

I see congrats are in order for the 1K!! Wonderful stuff!! Those cabins you would not want to stumble across in the middle of the night, that's for sure. I see you were on your extra special behavior with dad around! LOL Look at the orange salamander...what a cool sighting! Had to redo a whole trail on account of losing keys too. What a chore that was. Great adventure and making wonderful memories. Bruce and Otis

Bruce, hello. We didn't have to do the whole trail for the keys but it was funnier than a chore tbh. Thank you sir! Give the fuzzy one some love on my behalf please! =D

Wow! Interesting "finds" on top of Powder Ridge! Definitely didn't run across that stuff when we did that section! 😀 Enjoyed reliving that spot, gotta get back there. Great video!

Thank you Sue. This was a bit off trail but we were up there for a bit hiding from the rain lol. It seems like a good time, ski lift up to a haunted trail. :)

"My intention was to get back sooner" made me chuckle. I have the same problem with many things. I hate copperheads. A friend told me that she had a copperhead show up at her pond. I told her to kill it. She didn't, "live and let live". A week later, both of her dogs were dead. Nice video. Happy Trails. Good Luck, Rick

Hey hey. Sorry to hear about your friends dogs. If it were in my yard the buddy snake and I might have had a different conversation but I was in their house so I just stomped some and sent him on his way. We were close to stepping on it though. Lol, I always want to get back sooner so I guess I could say that for each video LOL! This rain of late is killing me. I don't mind walking in it typically but it is different leaving in it. All the best.

@@ConnecticutBackcountryThe rain this year was tough. I had my best tomato crop going and then the rains made them split and rot. Good Luck, Rick

Copperheads?! Oh heck no! Lol! I'd be wearing water buffalo hide pants! Ha!

Buffalo hide is tough to walk in when it is raining, especially in 90 degree weather. They don't eat much anyway LOL! =P

I don't know what was scarier - the thunderstorm or the creepy town. What the hell was that place? 😆

LOL! Yeah that was an odd find! I guess they did a haunted house up on Powder Ridge last year and these are the remnants. I don't know if they intend to do it again? That storm, the original intention was to get back to the ridge line and overnight up top with a view but with the fog we didn't care then the thunder and we decided better against it. Overall good trip though!

I have been there before, and seen mountian bikers but never seen so many dead souls. Looks like they’re trying to increase revenue at the ski area.

Yeah, I am kinda interested in a nighttime ski lift haunted adventure, now to convince the missus.
