If you want a video recommendation, I propose completing a task in The Sims 3 or 4 (your choice) but you have to stay underground in a basement the whole time. It could have a simple objective. Perhaps starting from the bottom and working your way up to a million bucks, or having a sociable character unable to socialise. The possibilities are endless, as solitude makes everything more difficult and hence intriguing.

Honestly, i did that but with a whopping 2 colonists. Where did the other 10 go? What other 10? There only ever were 2. By the end of my run my region was massively overpopulated and i spend most of my resources on somehow quelling the truely immense overpopulation issue that was birthed from 2 very sexy very horni individuals, isolated inside a single dome made to give them every single bit of comfort. Not that it matterd in the end as the population grew to such an extreme end that by the end of it all materials were spend on building Arcologies and Apartments to, again, somehow house all of those overpopulated masses of the Hornies.

These games are increasingly just becoming vehicles for us to learn philosophy and the nature of human existence.

In keeping with the antfarm type games you love so much, I highly recommend checking out Distant Worlds 2. The game is exceedingly beautiful but not in the traditional "I have 1000 mods on my Skyrim install" way but more in the way of the process being beautiful. Its a 4x game but instead of bogging you down with lacing peoples boots for them you can automate some tasks away and continue playing your favorite parts of the game.

Speaking of Paradox, maybe AA should be doing more Stellaris content? Long play would be nice, but a bunch of one off scenarios would be cool too. If you're looking for a good scenario, I'd recommend Rouge Servitor, or maybe a Tree of life playthrough. Something that matches the vibe of youre Pacifist playthrough. Just don't get vassalized again. 😂

I honestly can't see the concern of continuing the species. It doesn't matter to me one iota if mankind blinks out of existence or not beyond my lifespan. I'm not saying I'm ok with masses of people dying horribly or anything, but something like mass infertility where people just live out their lives and then there are no more humans just doesn't seem like a big deal.

I don't like the idea of terraforming any more. I used to, but now I think it's a waste of resources. I mean, do you even understand how much air is just wasted, doing nothing all day, just sitting around, piling on atop itself? When instead, we could compress that into an efficient, compact habitat and house WAY more people with the same amount of materials? Planets shmanets, who needs 'em? All they are is just big piles of resources to construct habitats from! (I mean maybe if you hollow one out and construct hundreds of layers until you have a nice shellworld... but even then, why waste resources on an unbounded atmosphere?)

SO many questions. What purpose does money have in this game? And who are you paying the money to? If there was only a rocket of 12 people sent to Mars, where did the ducks and cows come from? And where did the fuel come from? I doubt Mars has oil deposits like Earth.

this game infuriates me. its *almost* good, maybe even almost great. but while it is technically working, its crippled by half baked freatures and missing qol that makes it annoying to play. its also missing any victory condition and once a game is over the initial hump, there just is no challange. bottom line, the game looks extremely promizing, but playing it is a frustrating, unrewarding chore. 2/10 feels like a paradox game.

id love the game if the ppl in it wad more ai...i reach a spot of no jobs or housing despite me having plenty vacant in domes connected and droned ...still thay all die off rather then go next door to live or work
