It seems like this guy still has a psychological hold on you for him to do everything he did to you and for you to say "we alright"or" I just want to treat him to dinner and get his perception on the situation" sounds crazy as hell. Granted I understand things happen it's the past or whatever, but at the same time you have to find closer from the pieces he left you with without his help cause all he will do is take advantage of the vulnerable space he left in your heart and try to drag u back to where u were ...like you said "toxic people love toxicity and misery love company"look at the pieces that he left u with it isn't hard to see exactly what the situation was you just have to accept it and accepting it is regaining the piece of you that he took that piece is what prevents you from fully experiencing love in it's full totality just accept it for what it was anything else is unhealthy at this point

A lot of toxic abusive people don't acknowledge their wrongs and gaslight even after years, or they pretend they do with an ulterior motive. It took me going to therapy to realize that I was in an abusive situation. He never hit me or called me names but he went out of his way to passive aggressively make me feel less than, and compare me to other women. He's not worth one more minute of your time Justin trust me I know.

Justin idk about that, after they abuse you. They never wanna apologize or explain. They still make excuses for why they did what they did. They will talk in circles, and still find ways to say your crazy or it’s your fault. Some even go as far as trying to get you back.

Do not meet up with him. You’ll never get the answers you feel you need. You have to somehow find closure in a different way. It seems he still has a hold on you. You can move on and not be angry with him without meeting up with him. YOU want to get to this place of closure, but doesn’t mean he wants that closure or willing to give it to you. That will be a game thinkin 4 years later you STILL want something from him. Completely get what you need but people like that love it in a very deeply unhealthy way. I had to do this with the “love of my life” of more than 5 years. People like them have deep seeded issues probably sustained in childhood that they haven’t been able to deal with and has altered the way they process. Often times they genuinely don’t feel what you do and think rationally or understand they were wrong. It’s sad but you have to accept that’s what it is leave it behind and know you really did luck up by leaving them behind. Don’t dabble. It’s pointless. Much love Jordan. ❤️

Justin, thank you for sharing. I have the same mentality when it comes to relationships. I have experienced only one guy who ever attempted to hit me. And he lived to regret that decision, because I come from a mother who took none of the bs from men. I made sure he remembered to never hit me again. And soon there after... I ended the relationship after discovering that he was cheating on me. I have watched my sisters go through abusive relationships... and I just couldn’t find it in me to go through that. I explained to every guy I ever dated why I don’t do abuse. If we can’t communicate without putting the hands and feet to each other... then we need not to be in a relationship with one another. I know that if it ever came to the point where I was in an abusive situation... I would definitely be heading to prison. Cuz ain’t nobody gonna hurt me like that. I was abused as a child. And that was the last point in my life where I would endure that sort of pain.
