Stephen suffered abuse for years at the hands of his maternal grandfather. His story of how he protected his brother from having to endure the same abuse is heartbreaking.
His story is so powerful, and his strength to help others who experienced abuse is striking. This is a must-watch.

I had the same experience from one of my cousins, when I was just six. But he was not an adult when this took place and it only involved touching. He committed suicide at the age of 22 and now I forgive him. You're an inspiration. What you're doing is something that many of us who are abused as children wants to do. You're living my dream life actually. It was my dream to save and protect children from these kind of life-wrecking situations. Thanks a lot for everything you're doing for our children, our future ❤.

MK - thank you for your kind words. I decided many years ago to turn the bad situation into a good one by using it as a strength. You went through what no child should have and thankfully came out the other side a survivor. I commend your bravery and also your ability to forgive. So many will relate to your situation and find strength in your words.

I’m glad your grandad is no longer around. What he did to you was disgusting and shameful. You are brave to talk so honestly. You deserved a better childhood. Keep strong don’t let him define you. Continue the good work be proud of yourself.

Stephen thank you for helping others. You turned a negative into something positive. Breaks my heart that those who were supposed to love you, abused you instead. Stay strong and take care.

My heart goes out to everyone and anyone who suffered abuse. How brave of you to share your story openly and rase the awareness. How big your heart is protecting others around you from the pain. Wishing you ease and joy in your life and protecting safe people around, you deserve that no less than everybody else. ❤

Thank you Stephen for sharing your experiences so honestly and fully. I'm so sorry this happened to you and send love to you and to the little boy within you that experienced this. I wish I could just give you the biggest hug. Like you, I vowed I would never tell my mum because I was sure it would break her. I held my secret (it was a trusted neighbour that abused me when I was nine) for 36 years. Eventually I did tell her, and in retrospect, it was the best thing I ever did. It opened the way for me to feel free to speak my truth anywhere and anytime I chose, because I wasn't worried about her finding out. This liberation led me to make a police report (the offender was still alive, so I could) and he got sentenced to 5 years. But more important than all of that. My mum was able to give me the hugs I didn't have the courage to ask for when I was nine - that was better than any court conviction. I wish you every blessing for the work you are doing to support others - you're an incredible human to do this work ❤

I would also like to add that sometime after I'd told mum I asked her how she felt about me telling her and she said she was pleased I'd told her. She preferred knowing. And this was something I could understand because I'm also a mum and I would want to know.

May I ask if you have ever tried clinical hypnotherapy and analytical regression therapy for the flashbacks?

No, she didn't see it. She wouldn't have left the note there.
