This story is the first of it's kind on the podcast. Big thank you to Rex, make sure to support him. And thank you guys for watching! Go on shoot us that like and comment, you know what to do!!
Rex here! Man, it’s really hard to hear all the verbal slips I made. I misspoke a couple times. It was a five hour interview and I never talk that much, so I fumbled a few times. The worst is when I say the mixed kid was “half white and half black”. I didn’t even realize I said that until I watched later. The kid was white and Mexican, like I said. There are a few small fumbles like that, but nothing substantial. I wish I could reshoot some parts, but not up to me. Sorry for the confusion!
Bro thanks for sharing your story. I had an extremely similar childhood but I never got caught. Not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing, but regardless I left that wild style a decade ago. Guess at some point we all gotta grow up lol. I grew up in the "country ghetto" and everything you say is spot on with this area.
@RexHolloway, I have contacted TDCJ and the Board of Pardons and Paroles asking for your records through the 'OPEN RECORDS" act I have searched the web and dark web for your information. I have paid all the pay sites searching your name. I even paid the $18 dollars for your criminal history record. Something is wrong. I even searched all the courts records all the way back to 1995, in texas and surrounding States. Still something is wrong. Please explain.
@@RichardWinkler-y2kyou searched this guys records and made point you paid 18$ for his records get a life bro. Obviously 18$ is a lot of money to you or you wouldn't say mention it. Leave the guy alone hes got a story to tell take what you want outta it. The guy changed his life around. I did the exact same thing with my life. Did everything you can think of now a bussiness owner. People change from when there younger. The guy made something of his self so leave him alone. He doesn't have to explain shit to you. Its a interview he wrote a book I don't think he's telling a bunch of lies.
@@garettdegenhardt722 , sorry you think that way Bro! Glad you got on with life. I am a journalist and this caught my eye. I have seen everyone of his videos and have read the comments. Some good a lot are bad. I was considering doing my own story of this guy, but can not get any real documentation or facts on him. I have visits lined up with Bobby Adam and Charlie Roberts and they should be able to have some information on this guy. Before I do a story on someone or anything, I get and have all facts up front and as of right now, either this guy is using some kind of alias or not being truthful. I am not saying either and that is why I am giving him a chance to come forward with documentation, or some better facts than heresay.

I don’t know how I stumbled upon this one but I’m glad I checked it out. When I was in my late teens, I worked a warehouse job and there was an ex con who worked there. He had crazy tattoos and a big swastika on his hand. He scared the hell out of me and I never said anything to him. One day I needed a ride home and he heard me asking another co worker and he said if I couldn’t find a ride he’d take me. I don’t know what possessed my black a** to get in the car with this dude but I needed to get home so I could go to class so I let him take me. Let me tell you, this was one of the coolest dudes, we talked the whole time, and after that I spoke to him pretty much every day at work. During the ride, one of the things he said I’ll never forget. He saw me looking at his hand and he said “oh, when you’re in prison you have to do prison shit”. Rex kind of reminds me of him.
Yeah, I thought that was pretty funny but it’s hard to always say the right analogy when you’re interviewing people on a podcast I’m sure. Reminds me of Phil Leonardo when he said let me tell you a couple of three things lol
I can say from spending 11 1/2 years in Texas prison and having been to holiday, and Torres unit. I can tell that he is telling the truth. You can tell by the way he describes situations and the words he uses to describe certain things the only people who have been locked up in Texas would recognize. Gave a good story, and didn’t try to oversell it. It was a good interview.
@@DavidMccallister65 that’s exactly what I was thinking lol and then I was thinking about Chris Rock saying if you ever wanna find some violence go to Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard in any city you’re in
Watched and listened to this video over a few weeks. Was thoroughly entertained and tuned in. Even thought about some of the stories later at random times in my day. This is excellent content!
I don't know why this popped up in my feed, but I watched it. My GF son got jammed up in Collin County on an aggravated battery charge for beating the hell out a drug dealer that was bothering a friend of his. I think the dealer was probably a snitch and County prosecutor went at him hard. He did 4 years in Huntsville. He didn't talk about it much, but vaguely mentioned he had a couple dust ups and after that no one messed with him. He wasn't any stronger than me, but he is bipolar. When he got pissed he turned into the incredible hulk and would fuck you up. That's why I watched this. Read through some comments too, which I find fascinating. I've often wondered why people like Rex engage in criminal activity. I've always thought if they put half the energy into legal activity they would be rich by now and wouldn't have wasted all the time they did sitting in prison.
That's not what it's about at all. Everybody craves structure and rules, but people are very particular about following rules set by people they don't see as being like them. Gang members don't like the rules of regular society because they don't feel like they're a part of that society, but most have no issues following rules set by a gang because they see the gang members as their peers.
Honestly everyone wants to be a part of something and belong somewhere. They dont adhere by the regular society and dont wanna live like normal people, they are pretty much outlaws. When they join a gang its now more or less a family of structured individuals where they feel they belong and are with like minded people. These dudes are not dumb they just live different violent lives, but they still support structure and organized chaos like the rest of us.
What’s interesting about his story is he refers a lot about movies? He watched growing up and how it literally influenced his mental. I think it’s safe to say that movies influence us one way or another.
Everything our mind is exposed too affects us subconsiously that is why it is good to be positive and tell yourself good things about yourself and eventually your brain will rewire itself!
I'm still locked up in Alcatraz and it's been shut down for decades... I'm the big dog in A,B,C,D,E and F block as I'm the only person here... Life's tough on the inside and outside... To many Sharks in the bay to try and swim to freedom...so I just deal with it and take each day as it comes...
Hahahaha johnnys concerned face is so endearing i cant believe his range sometimes… its hilarious that he really is a nice guy who ended up in the life its like the comedian archetype of the 90’s at its best
Love this! Thanks for doing this and posting for us. You are great at interviewing! I just need to say one thing that I used to do myself, please try to be aware of how often you say things “hmm” “ya” “wow” when someone is talking because it can be overdone and to the listener of the podcast it becomes a distraction after a while. It also makes it sound like you are rushing the person who is trying to explain something as though what he is saying isn’t holding your interest and want the story teller to stop talking. Then again Maybe I’m just too high haha. Awesome video l!
Lol, texas prison are sealed of too media. They keep all their issues inside as much as possible.i did a few years in texas orison before feds grabbed me. Zero air-conditioning. Their is violence but like anywhere else. Mind you bussiness don't get in debt and you should be cool
@@leesanurse6474 I mean like the code of silence among guards is indestructible down there. The feds have investigated Alabama and there's reporting about the slave labor there but Texas just seems to be on its planet with its own code of conduct. Kinda nuts but that's Tejas
Interviews and videos like this should be shown in school and like get into how bad it really is like make sure to add in the 6 years of setting alone looking at a wall never seeing the sun with nothing but your thoughts. Really feel as if it would help the next generation’s to come stop all the craziness and might just keep them out of prison. I’ve never been in prison or any. I have been forced to take someone’s life that was an armed intruder in self defense. Be the closest thing. Other then that i spent 14 years in the military and have some wild stories there while in the sof unit then most of my years as a contractor for the agency. But listening to these interviews makes me glad that I went into the military 🤣 it changed my path in life I do believe and made me the person I am proud of today. Stay safe and stay outta trouble everyone
I’ve watched clips of your show here and there and never subscribed. I watched this entire episode and subscribed immediately. Also, I just bought Rex’s novel and am excited to start on it. Fantastic interview. Respect to you both.
I was like that as a kid, I was very wild and constantly in trouble, but atleast my mom could be proud of the fact that when I was caught, I was always very polite to the teachers and later police, always had great manners, never even use cuss words when talking to people older than myself. Now I'm facing some prison time too, but maybe it's for the best, I live in a country that puts emphasis on the rehabilitation of prisoners and I really need to get sober before I end up in an early grave.
You seriously believe this dude is making it all up. He’s obviously speaking from experience. You act like he got on here and said “I’m a legend.” He didn’t do that at all.
He literally said it's all documented n he showed the host the paperwork n it's documented online 😂😂....n he has a book that sold good to bout his life story .....so what u mean no proof ....he says he showed him paperwork before the interview started 😂🤣....plus im sure the host dose background checks into finding proof n talking to people about who he's interviewing that might know him before he even has them on his channel n looks into them to first to ...come on now it's common sense plus u hear him say he showed him paper work......😂😂😂🤦
Judging by the number of posts who doubts this dudes veracity, which in turn makes you look bad, why don't you find a real ABT with a patch and have him come on and also bring this dude back and let them hash things out.
@@fizzycapone3746 This guy is not a hardened criminal. No way. I spent 25 years in maximum security. Not including pre trial custody and I can tell you right now I would not trust this guy to stay solid. He just isn't hardened. He seems like a mammas boy to me.
Strange that i can relate to ALOT of his story...money, drugs, guns, county, 5 yrs probation for counterfeit bills... thankfully I got my shit together before I landed in Prison...
bro claiming he a shot caller. if he was actually about that life he wouldnt be free to do youtube interviews he would still be in the box. another wes Watson shit is comical
@bambbambboyguy123 first of all, there's been several youtube videos that have shown the same, indisputable proof that Wes Watson NEVER went to any of the prison yards he's talked extensively about. Yes, Wes has been to prison but after reception at Donovan, Wes was shipped out of State to Oklahoma and Arizona where he did the rest of his time in private prisons out of state. He 100% was never at Salinas Valley or any of the level 3 & 4 yard joints he tells his war stories about. There's nobody who's vouched for Wes being on these yards. 2 guys that said they were with Wes were in a low level out of state private prison. So please stop spreading misinformation saying Wes has been vouched for. 99.9% of his prison war stories are lies. He was a shot caller in his own mind, nowhere else. Here's the proof ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-80qj9-VIt4A.htmlsi=uoXFlpjK5QI0B6JS The Southsider you're talking about was in Oklahoma with him.
Are you ever gonna interview a skin? The guys you have on are awesome and when they're telling their stories you hear about these hardcore whites and how dangerous they are. Im just curious if there is a sensible skin out there that could come on and give their point of veiw. This is fascinating stuff, man. Im finding myself watching more and more of your content. Really enjoyable. 👍🏻
What do you mean? Honestly curious. Do you mean a sensible skin to give a more down to earth, or maybe ideological interview? Or do mean the opposite? Like do you think guys like this are misrepresenting something?
Thank you for sharing your life’s story! It just left me with a question and I don’t know, if I can expect an honest answer. But have to ask it anyway, cause I know from my life’s story how it affects the picture one has of himself. Were you taking steroids in prison or before? Are most of the gang members on steroids in prison? Most people don’t realize how steroids shift ones behavior towards an antisocial spectrum. And self destructive behavior. And again: thanks for sharing. Will buy your book.
I seen myself in alot of his story about growing up. The movie Goodfellas influenced me at a very young age and i met another group of guys at the age of 18 from the other high school who had the same influence from the same movie. we were hell lol i end up getting 7 yrs did 3 of them in South Carolina prison. i watched the whole interview and enjoyed it. its crazy when you hit a point and realize you got to grow up. some people never hit that stage. it was the 3rd year that made me realize i had to change. i have done things since i was released 12 yrs ago but im much aware of the consequences of my actions and act accordingly.
Was listening until he said he was ABT but no patch bro come on man u may have been a wood following orders but get real dude that shits dead u not a patch holder u not a member period
How do you get a Siri 63 and 22 license to deal securities when you’re a hard convicted felon when the SEC securities exchange commission has to do a 10 year at least 10 your background check? Well as long as it wasn’t fraud or identity theft you’re good.
His book the wolf and the lion is published as FICTION..also Rex states its about his life in Organized crime And once you leave an organisation in prison..--blood in..blood out- is rule ..you went to protective custody..special protection..or all b.s. you a cop or snitch Rex! Others ar out will see this ..
I hated that comment, seemed like he was just tryna fit in, even when he said “n*gga” but bleeped it out and said he doesn’t use the “ER” on his channel. Very much a chameleon just wants to fit in.
Anybody else think this is just complete B.S. "Then I went and talked to the Mexican Mafia" "Then a fight breaks out, Holy Smokes" Like Gee fuckin wiz Toby 🤣
Hearing this makes me feel good. I'm a combat veteran. Everyday I have a thought that everything I saw...did and my brothers dying was all for nothing. Then I hear how someone like you has changed. It makes me realize this is the kind of thing I fought for. I fought so you and people like you can change and in doing so you are making this country a little better. To all my Marines....Semper Fi
For everyone saying how, it's because they both are generalizing a whole race of people based on their own experiences and biases. I grew up where this guy grew up, and if you live here and remember "finding out about black people and how they live" then you must have had an extremely sheltered life ,or grew up in a small racist bumpkin town ( which there is a few). We (here in the south) are in the most diverse places in the US. We all just grew up together.
It amazes me when I hear that there were no bloods and crips in Texas in the early nineties because there were crips and bloods in Louisville Kentucky in the late 80s and early 90s..
In Louisville we had the Cotter Homes Crips, Park hill Crips, Victory Park Crips Southside Rollin 60s and Southside IGC and the only Crips on the Eastside were called ESC, or eadtside Crips. The bloods were Cecil & Greenwood, C&G Bloods, South wick Bloods, Clarksdale Bloods, Shepherd Square bloods, and Butchertown Bloods, we also had some local gangs and some GDs. And all this was in the late 80s and 90s. The unique thing about Louisville was the amount of white ppl in gangs. Some sets were 50/50 white & black. We were all about the neighborhood not the race of each other.
That is great they make you work in Texas. That is how it should be at every prison. The thought that you get to chill and watch movies for being a criminal is wild! You are in prison. You owe a debt.
Well gee idk, there’s a damn long list of reasons but if I were to guess, probably because he was just arrested a few days ago, not yet free, not to mention I don’t recall any cartel leaders doing any interviews on this podcast. A very long list of blatantly obvious reasons, if you take even 5-7 seconds to think about it.
In Texas every tank has a speaker, one person speaks for a dorm of 3-4 tanks…someone speaks for the whole unit…that will change depending on the unit you’re on.
I don't understand how the texas aryan brotherhood thought they could bite off the brand and think it would be ok. Like tf... boiiii they knew better. The brand is the only abs i respect!
ya I thought that seemed a lil off.i definitely ain't no shot caller or some cool veterano from La Pinta or the WoodPile.but I recently moved to Texas & started hearing thru the grape vine AB this & "I or we r AB that" in TX D.O.C. which also I've never toured, but thru 2000-04 in BOP there was no AB on the line per se.but I guess a group in a state facility can refer to themselves however they please,as long as they know that The Brand doesn't have any soldiers on that line to correct their choice of words.sad cause those r supposed to be my ppl.fuck it's tuff being white privileged cuz all my kin folk wanna be gangsters.
The host seems to need to get out the house more - and I quote "... black kids! They make it more fun, and more dangerous, and more drugs.." 🙄 - way to show your innate prejudice 🤦♀️
Anybody who actually does get out the house & plays enough in the street knows. Black Side of town = Bad side of town. That’s not exactly rocket science & shouldn’t be too hard to comprehend
1:39:14 crips and bloods have generals and they have history to learn as well. They have a structure. Latin kings have a structure for for every chapter borough & state. When you go to prison there’s chapters in the prison that are just for prison. When you come out you go back to your original chapter. Mexicans are extremely organized and militant they have to write essays and have a hood vocabulary learn there history Mexicans are extremely strict and militant. Brake a rule under them and they will quick put hands on you.
Maybe you have to be trained to pick up all these subliminals? Now I hear constant harping about “de-whitening” society. There are too many white people in STEM. Too many white people in government etc etc. White people are the most maligned group and yet still blacks will complain that someone is dog whistling whatever tf that is while over here they’re on an air horn screaming about genociding the people who created the best country on earth lol.
He’s full of shit I’m from Houston and been to prison here twice TANGO stands for together against negative gang organizations and BLAST is be loyal and stay true.
He even lied about being their when it formed. The started in the 80s. Alot of this guys story doesn't add up. Their is no doubt he went to prison. But I don't buy alot of his story
