I get where they're both coming from but you can't just pin this on Laurel. Literally everyone has had a chance to turn on Dom/Wendell; Laurel is ONE PERSON. Kellyn could've voted with Michael. Seb KNOWS that DomWen are the "big fish" or whatever analogy he used. Angela was betrayed by them and hasn't voted against them yet(aside from the failed attempt last week). Clearly everyone who isn't DomWend are flopping around like fish.
"At least she's going to the final three!" Really, Rob? You're straight-up advocating for Laurel to play like a goat? A spot in the final three means nothing if you have zero chance to win, and the fact that you seem to think she should be satisfied with this is legitimately insulting to the game of Survivor.
jabberwagon But who can Laurel beat? At this point, I dont think she'd beat Donathan because he's gone against the power in front of the jury while Laurel hasn't up to this point. Does she even beat Angela with her veteran arc/story? Idk about that either. She's pretty much stuck.
If you look at the votes on Wikipedia for both the first vote and revote, it's interesting because the 3 of Wendell Dom and Laurel only voted for Kellyn on both votes, whereas it was the bottom 3 of Angela, Sebastian, and Kellyn voted for Donathon (Sebastian voted for Donathon on revote for whatever reason). That's so smart of Dom and Wendell once again because now they can say yeah, we never turned on you, you just went crazy.
@Steve Gerrard that's true but I feel like Dom has shown to be the slightly more strategic this season. It could come down to who on the jury values that slight strategic edge and who values being slightly more personable. I could honestly see it being the first split vote tie-breaker decided by the 3rd person in the top 3. The way it looks to me as well is that Both Dom and Wendall completely understand the challenge of taking each other to the end and, for now anyway, look like they genuinely don't mind going mono e mono and letting the better of the two win. I think they should be more concerned about taking the wrong person that beats both of them to the end rather than each other. At least at this point anyway. Neither of them have said a single thing literally the entire time in any confessionals or on camera about stabbing the other in the back. Idk, It's Survivor, it could go any damn way at any point, this is just the way I'm seeing things going with the information we have to work with so far. This nothing more than my opinion, I"m definitely not saying this WILL happen.
laurel is a waste of space at least the other players have plans to take out the dom/wendell duo even if their timing is wrong and they wait too long but laurel has every opportunity and she never does anything she's useless
at least laurel has a place in the show - we know what her thoughts were - she struggles between loyalty for Dom & Wendel and desire to win. what really bothers me is the sheer amount of people who made zero inpact on the game. what are Sebastian and angela doing there? are they so passive and/or stupid? The show should give us at least hint about these players' thoughts and strategy otherwise the viewer doesn't know what to make of it. Is Dom and Wendel masterfully manipulating Sebastian? or are Dom and Wendel just lucky to be playing with such incompetent morons?
that's the thing. the editing has been terrible. we really don't need to see yanny talking about flipping every episode just for her not to do it. it makes her possible flips less interesting and more irritating because we know she's going to jump through hoops as to why she shouldn't vote out dom/wendell. that time could be used to give us more of seb/angela/etc. they also wasted a lot of time on michael and chris that could have gone to other players. the editing is just not working for me this season.
The players arent giving production much to work with but the editing has been ass. Boring season. Obvious that wendell or dom win. There isnt even a rootable underdog this season. Michael was but he got voted out too early.
I think the season is okay, it is on the more obvious side...but I can t be mad on a season that gives us a player like Dom or a entertainer like Donathan. Dom basically had a meltdown episode 1 and he s looking like our winner now . I hope to see him in future in a more challenging environment coz I feel like the second half of the game so far was easy for him.
i m w Stephen on this....to me it seems like Donathan was pushing a few episodes now to turn on the 2, but always postponed it coz of Laurel. Now that Laurel didnt have where to postpone it, he realized that he d not betraying them so he went rogue. I believe Donathan always knew what was the right move, he was watigin for the right time to make the jump with a strong support....sadly Laurel screwed that up with her "I wanna play w my friends" logic...And Her winninf against the 2 is arguably a bigger miracle than Donathan winning himself.... Not to mention Donathan is after this episode probably guaranteed an invite back....Laurel is erasing her chances as we speak

I want that but this jury doesn't seem bitter and they actually have a lot of fun in ponderosa but this would have been a great season for a bitter jury

Is it confirmed that the final 4 challenge is fire making or is this just if there is a tie? That's great if it's going to be a mandatory thing to move forward.
They actually did confirm at the end of last season. The 'Take 1 to the end with you and the other two make fire' at the final 4 is going to be the formula going ahead for as long as it continues to not result in something completely fucked up and game-breaking. Idk how long it will happen for but since last season, while shocking, wasn't thaaaaat absolutely backwards it will at least happen again this season. Who knows maybe this season will expose it as being as completely game-breaking, maybe it will be 6 seasons from now. Maybe it will prove to be balanced and will continue forever. We'll have to wait and see.
Why is Rob constantly defending Laurel's horrible game play? It's almost as annoying seeing Rob justify Laurel's flip-flopping cowardly move as it as watching Laurel play.
I was a big fan of laurel for awhile cuz her edit and position in the game and her intelligence and physical strength were setting her up to blow things up and take it all and every subsequent week since I started feeling that way I was left shaking my head screaming “Do something!!!!” I kept feeling like ok yea she’ll do it next week she’s just taking her time but at this point I think she’s missed every opportunity.
it's not rooting against dom/wendell it's rooting for laurel to fucking grow a spine and do what's best for her which she already acknowledged is getting rid of those two
Adam Kamer you hated and boston robb, kim and tony all have power all game. Trish is worst and bad player than laurel. A lest dom and wendell and loyal to her. Tony whast no loyal trish.
carlos quiteño There was a struggle against Tony, wasn't there? He had to put up a fight, albeit a small and easy one. Against Dom and Wendell, there have been two people against them an episode and they always knew for a fact they were on top and didn't have to try all that hard. Also, Kim and Boston Rob won in pretty bad seasons, so I wouldn't use them as examples.
Really enjoying this season personally (but to be fair it's Surivor, so I always do). The only problem I have is that only one of either Dom or Wendell can win... they both deserve it.
Donthan forcing a tie vote at the last tribal council wouldn't have helped if Laurel didn't flip at the revote. Both Dom and Wendell would have been immune at the rock draw
I’m TOTALLY with Stephan here. Laurel is CLULESS. Disagreed again with Rob when he said he thinks Wendell is good cop/mom cop and dom is bad cop/dad. Did he not catch the moment dom turned around and said can we? And Wendell said Shhh!!! Dom cares about donoathans feelings even if he’s not his top dog. He at tribal even said sonoathan can I ask you something in a calm manner, where as at tribal Wendell looked like a real jackass. What a bully lashing out & the whining. I’ll be so choked if Wendell wins. Please dom or don pull out a win.
Donathon has a reason to be frustrated, yes, but he clearly could have taken a better route when dealing with his anger. Instead of self-destructing and making dom and wendell aware of his frustrations, he could have at least rallied kellyn and angela to vote with him, which would have potentially sent dom or wendell home.
We got played by the producers and Yanny all season. Every episode Yanny goes: "I should turn on Dom And Wendell" cut to nah I should play it safe, rinse and repeat.
Ok so big conspiracy theory here: Anyone else think we’re watching “WWE” survivor ? My theory is that last year production basically gave Ben the thumbs up and handed him idols all season so he could win to make the narrative interesting. This year I think they did the same thing expect they gave the thumbs up to the two most entertaining/likable castaways, Dom and Wendell This would explain why they have all the idols, why no one EVER targets them despite being obvious threats, and why Chris Nobel didn’t play his idol when he got voted out. This may seem crazy because, how could a secret this big be kept? My theory is production is bribing certain cast members to do certain things and keep their mouths shut. Even if you are playing for a mil: If you were Chris Nobel and production guarenteed you $10,000 to not play your idol or to never vote for Wendell or Dom, I think you would stay zipped. Just so many odd things. I may be off the mark with this theory a little bit but I think there’s something too it.
Survivor lesson, never name the season after the primary twist, just means a bad season most of the time: Blood vs Water, Redemption Island, One World, Worlds Apart and now Ghost Island.

Adam Kamer really man, rember the chris bott episode one the best episodes of the surviwor history in the merge of the las season only ben chrissy duvon and laurel where some memorable. This season the pre merge whasts great. Dom an wendell one will better winner than ben the las season whats obius tha ben will the winner, this season bradley chris. Michael. Dom, wendell donatha kellyn and steyanio johson great characters.
If the other four were smart enough, they'd split the votes 2-2 for Wendall and Dom, and hope one doesn't play the idol. If they both do, at least they have a chance to remove them in the next two tribal councils cos I think they all know if they are sitting next to Wendall or Dom in the final 3, they will lose.
Karel Zich Dom is totally betraying Wendell at the Final Four. Besides, Dom seemed to have a bigger edit in the pre-merge so clearly the editors wanted us to notice him more

Yanny really disappointed me. Hopes someway Donathan brings her and Sea Bass at the final 3 and he wins. Is the only chance to put up the season. It started so strong and now is just boring and predictable :/
this is officially turning in one of my least favourite seasons ever. especially the post-merge is an absolute snooze-fest!! the initial chris vote was so good but since then? bottom 10, maybe bottom 5 season for me right now. Wendell or Dom will be a totally deserved winner but I absolutely don't feel excited about it. it's now 150% clear that Angela is absolutely horrible at the game, 95% clear that Seebass is too, Donathan basically as well, and Laurel - kinda too. horrible, horrible gameplay from most of them.
PS: this is just a detail but I'm not sure I'm digging the fact that you guys automatically assume that Kellyn was the strategist and Chelsea was her minion. to me - also from some secret scenes or interviews - it looked way more 50:50, I feel like you guys are falling for the edit (or lack of it in Chelsea's case) too much.
