Survivors, advocates speak out as pedestrian deaths rise throughout Las Vegas valley 

Some lanes are so hard to see in vegas 💀 why don't they use paint?? Those reflective bumps get dirty and hard to see...

ITs not all on the drivers....lots of pedestrians walk out in front of cars and don't look, they don't use the crosswalks, wear dark clothing at night and don't make themselves visible.

I see many kids just crossing without looking…

They need to add lights to every pedestrian crosswalk

After complaining last week about the lack of professional reporting in the LV area on another channel's news site (whatever pops up randomly on YT), I thank you two for a job well done and a nice, cohesive report.

Just REDUCE ROAD CONSTRUCTION!!!! I witness accidents and near hits due to road rage at zones. When people have to go through 4 CONSTRUCTION zones or consistently being slowed down bc of it, they get get edgy and snappy. STOP so much road construction being done at once. That will help tremendously.

Some pedestrians are about 20 feet or less from a light and they still jaywalk I almost hit a guy that saw us coming and ran in front of us we had to put the brakes all the way and the cars behind us almost hit us we were coming at 45 miles and he just laughed

I've been in situations where pedestrians just walk out on the street in front of the car, in a bullying manner, giving me the look, to force me to stop no matter what, even though I was right on them and they had to let me pass. This happens all the time, even when not speeding. It's very hard to stop the car. It's a stupid habit. Right of way or not, a pedestrian can not win against a moving car, let alone a speeding one. Pedestrians should pause and look in both directions before crossing. Many do not.

We shouldn’t have decriminalized jaywalking.

In Oregon the local police and Federal agents are allowed to run stop signs and killed byclists

Increase the DUI fines and install huge signs announcing the fine at car rental counters and the major thoroughfares throughout Las Vegas.

Unfortunately, I witness at least a half dozen to a dozen or more each day attempting to cross major intersections NOT at the crosswalks....they are literally running across the street to avoid being hit.

One huge problem is where the busses stop. Many streets in Las Vegas are very long between stop lights. When someone has to catch a second buss or just needs to cross the street, few will walk back to the stop light and back to the connecting buss. Other problems with these long streets ... not only are they race roads but also there are long stretches in darkness. One solution is to have crossings near the middle of the street with the overhead lights to indicate someone is crossing.

i believe it. people are driving too fast. that's the truth of it. worse is the way people drive. i don't get it. the past 2 years its really gotten bad. pedestrians getting hit doesn't surprise me one bit. all the jay walking going on. you see it all the time. a lot of people walking about stoned out of their minds walking into traffic or soliciting money or whatever. none of this surprises me at all. hopefully some of the fatalities we keep hearing about will bear fruit in future safe roads, because the ones dying are mostly the problem in the first place.

Higher gas prices, hurry up!

People don’t know how to stop at the crosswalk people don’t know understand if you make a right turn at a crosswalk. The person crossing has the right away if the light goes on for them but they don’t those are the most places are high and police seen this and just drive on

I was just there. That's the cities fault. You guys just put roads wherever the f*** you want them and expect people to know how to navigate on them it's ass backwards there

Build a city in the middle of the desert where there’s not a drop of water, legalize gambling and do everything imaginable to disorient people and take their money. Make it nearly impossible to even cross the road and forget about street lights and then defund the police. Encourage lawlessness and do nothing about street racing. WTF do think is going to happen? 😂 Let the city go dry, stop importing all that water for swimming pools and elaborate attractions. Let the area go back to its natural state. Let people pack their own water in- see how that plays out.

too many jaywalkers who could easily use nearby crosswalks yet they will put themselves and drivers at terrible risk when they decide they don't need to obey the law. I've seen people jaywalk when a crosswalk was quite near them or certainly near enough that they could easily utilize it but yet they choose not to. The mentality is crazy.
